It was very odd that DSP failed to block those hits but shit happens. He called Jason Wilson over to test the sticks, at the end of the vid you can see that the sticks were working.

About those sticks I mean they worked overall but certainly were not anyone’s favorite sticks of all time. I don’t remember if I hit any double flip kick anti-airs that day or not. But it was still a fun experience overall. Wilson and his friends do a great job every year!

Vega, thanks for the kind words. Your missed flip kicks were probably due to the speed. Adjusting to Japanese Speed 3 = major timing issues on those kicks.
Controls worked fine, it’s the usual story, not everyone likes US controls, simple as that.

Is there ST comp in British Columbia? I know there’s some players in Manitoba and Alberta (focusing west of Ontario), just wondering if there is in your province.
Hoooo… honestly man, I live in the middle of small-town nowhere: I’m not the right person to ask!
Of course everyone old enough was a SF2 player way back then, but as far as still-interested serious players go, numbers are verrrry low. I know there is definitely a small handful of dudes in Vancouver who still love the game but I don’t think anyone plays it actively anymore (ie. meeting up for it on a regular basis). I believe a few of them tried to drum up interest this past summer.
I think Edmonton has even less ST players, but they have Shiro always getting people together. My first tournament was a nine hour drive to there, hahah. Calgary has fewer players still, and no organization I know of.
Casual players are always hiding everywhere but hardcore, competitive-minded players are such a rare find around these parts. GGPO keeps me alive and sane.
Mikado tourney on Stickam. SRK’s own Damdai was there. His Dhalsim fell over dizzy vs. Pony for no fucking reason. I couldn’t catch whether or not another SRKer, Denki, had entered.
