The thing about karate is that they train using these weird ass looking moves that look awkward and you would never use in a real fight. And Muy Thai, they ONLY train using moves that you would use in a real fight. Its a bad match up if you ask me.
And the guy that made karate famous, Mas Oyama, that dude used to wrestle bulls. WTF? That guy was so buff, he could have trained in ballet and still fucked everyones shit up in a tutu.
And thats why Ryu had to use his shoryuken to win that fight. Who said tiers doesn’t matter?
Karate eventually evolved to the point where they only trained you in a very regulated fashion designed to score points in a competition against other Karate specialists. Even if there was such thing as a practical form of Karate that you could use for self-defense, it’s become more of a sport in the modern age than a viable form of martial arts.
Muay Thai still maintains its grass roots feel of using every boney bit on your body to hurt somebody. It’s why it’s gained so much popularity in the MMA circuit due to its quick and effective motions.
The dude from the Karate camp clearly didn’t know how to fight. He kept his hands down, had a strange unbalanced stance, and kept hopping around like a bunny. He hardly did any grappling or throw techniques that Karate guys SHOULD know how to perform.
NOPE! karate too stiff! That muy thai guy was fluid, like water. Be like water.
If I was that karate guy, after getting pushed off the ring the first time, I would have change my fighting style to spanish matador fighting style right away. Its a known fact that muy thai fighters have problems with wall dives. Plus I would have stabbed him in the fucking gut with freddy krueger knives.
ps. hey, does karate guy kind of look like grown up ultracombo? same face and hair. lolololololololz
They also have problems with emaciated yoga masters.
And you have knives on your fists, you don’t need to use ANY kind of style. I can spin in a circle and do a lariat with knives attached to my wrist, and I don’t give a SHIT what style you know. I got this.

lol people are credulous
Not really surprised by the outcome. Boxers aren’t trained to defend against low-angle attacks. Standard boxer’s hand positioning is too high to block attacks to the mid-section, and they’re hopeless against kicks to the legs. Muay Thai guy can easily fight the match when he knows that he only has to focus on the other guy’s hands.
I knew something was wrong with that ass. Right when I saw it, I knew that shit was bunk.
