Is it just me or is Mattsun way more fun to watch rather than aniken?

Both have a fun, aggressive, flashy style of play. It’s fun watching any high-level Ken play. Much more interesting than the thousands of solid Ryu players that have match footage online.

I love watching Aniken play. His projectile game is pretty strong, specially because Ken’s Hadous suck. He can trick you into thinking he will throw them mindlessly, then simply walks up and kills you with BS.

Ken fireball games does not suck, actually top ken players can beat the shit out of ryu, guile and n.gat using the combination of jab fireballs which it has a faster recovery and using fierce fireballs as a meaty attack, most of the average ken players(and ryu players using ken) fails in this field because they think fierce fireball is the best speed to win fireball wars…

Mattsun is more fun to watch than Aniken, mattsun is the king of shenanigans!, they have different styles, same mastery, same deadly skills.

Ken’s slow fireball functions much like a slow sonic boom imo. It allows him to close the gap on the ground, where he’s planning to stay in order to utilize his strong mix-ups up close. Depending on the matchup, this can actually be more advantageous than having a faster fireball. This especially true when talking about the difference between O.Ryu and O.Ken styles of zoning.

Now that I see it, I like how Noguchi finished the round at the end. Hands down he is the best Fei player!

I laughed when I found out which machine he was doing it to.

is that guy on d famous documentary BANG the machine?

I see what you did there. lol. Apparently he got overly-inspired by just reading the title of that documentary.

The best part is that the Japanese guys were just trying to ignore him. lol. Let the man have his peace. He’s jacking off in an arcade, he’s clearly hit rock-bottom.

Out of all motion characters, N.Ken’s projectiles are arguably the worst ones. Now one may define it as “suck” or “not that bad” or whatever, but the case is everyone has a better zoning game than N.Ken. This is undeniable.

Here are all Ken’s projectiles’ disadvantages:
[]Longest start-up;
[
]Only the slowest one recovers “fast”;
[]Has the most trouble kara-canceling Short into other speed projectiles, due to crazy kick commands;
[
]Slower projectiles in general;
[]Longest overall recovery (start-up + recovery).
Pretty much, he is the one character whose projectiles are the easiest ones to beat during start-up, punish on reaction
, jump over or slide under (if in range to hit the extended leg). In addition to it, he probably has the weakest fireball trap against most characters (N.Sagat will probably have a worse one against a few of them). He is also the one most likely to get hit in projectile wars.

*Ryu, Chun Li, Cammy, Fei Long, Boxer, Sagat and Dictator can punish with super.

Having slow projectiles is a strength, not a weakness

It is against slow characters, or neutral jumps. Fast characters can bulldog him because of it though.

Having projectiles is a strenght by itself, compare tiers of projectile vs non projectile chars

craw.

Yeah characters like balrog and vega suck against fireballs

I didnt specify balrog n vega, but non projectile chars in general, take a look in cammy, fei, honda or blanka

Overall, chars with projectiles have the advantage

Depends on what you define as “a slow fireball”. A slow travelling fireball? Slow startup? Slow recovery?

A slow moving fireball is a strong advantage. Gives you more time to recover and follow up your fireball, much like how Guile is able to do this with his jab version.

Slow moving fireball is what I mean, when referencing kens jab fireball

Not, it isn’t, and this is precisely why Kusumondo destroyed people so easily last EVO: they insisted on feinting and throwing slow projectiles instead of using fast ones. It is quite the opposite.

Most characters can jump over that easily. It is a strong disadvantage, since he can not use them to keep his enemies from a distance. When one knows (or identifies) a slow projectile, he or she can just walk up and jump over them, and then keep on walking up. Fei and Cammy can just walk up and block, as Ken will have to go fireball-crazy to stop them from gaining ground. Which in turn makes him predictable.

Ken beats only 2 characters: Honda and Dictator. Claw beats all projectile characters, Balrog beats all but 4.5-5.5 against Chun and Sim, Zangief beats Ken, and barely beats Sagat, Ryu and Dee Jay (5.5-4.4). He only really loses to characters with better normals. As a matter of fact, he clearly has more trouble against melee characters.

It seems the only characters who have trouble against projectile characters are the ones with poor walk speed and few maneuvering tools. The only exception is Dictator, who walks fast, has lots of tricks,but only has the advantage over N.Sagat.
