Something to note about this along with your note on input delay is that crouch teching as a default reaction to the dash is a lot safer to do in sf4 unless youre fighting a character with auto crouch tech beaters.
So generally the reward for just dashing as a way to start offense is much lower.
Edit- im playing catch up to the thread rn, so dismiss this if somebody mentioned it already.
yeah on pc it’s not an issue. Diner causes frame drops, as does e.ryu, but system specs are so low it doesn’t matter. The original arcade board and the ps3/360 struggled to keep the game consistently at 60fps on all stages, e.ryu or heavy particle effects just added to that.
…well, today could have been better. Was just informed that me and my co-workers are gonna have to start pulling 50 hour weeks for a while, due to problems that aren’t even our departments fault.
I mean I can’t complain that much, there’s far worse things that could happen than a few extra hours…but it’s still less time to relax, wank play games and chat with you guys.
It’ll definitely make me appreciate weekends a lot more at least.
Thread was a roller coaster that ended in disappointment. Start with the Aussie positivity. Transition to productive game discussion. End with Capcom being the bully at school that slaps the books out of unpopular kids hands
Learn me up real good for havin good vibes for sfv
Somehow Forgotten Waterfall has become my favorite stage. I remember back in the early betas who there was a glitch that made FW be the only stage the game would let you play on. Everyone hated it including me. I figured once the game dropped it’d be the first stage I’d soft ban. Then… I don’t know I just started using it in training mode. The music would relax me from some of the stressful matches and ease my nerves. So I made the main menu music FW and I haven’t changed it since.
I thought I was alone in my love for the stage till Yipes mentioned it’s like the only stage he uses and started singing the theme song lmao
On what stage I would like in SF5? Ok, since Tekken borrowed Akuma, how about SF borrows Moonlit Wilderness from Tekken? Including the dope soundtrack.
I tend to choose stages based on what character I’m using (I match the stages to the character’s color I choose).
Like Union station with Akuma Premium #10 or Kanzuki Estate with FANG’s #14.
Have I mentioned that FANG has no bad colors? They’re all amazing. (Not including his story costume. That only has 2 good colors)
F.A.N.G’s story costume does have more than 2 good colors, though.
It’s so satisfying doing c.MK, then full knowing that once you hit s.HP you’re gonna get a meaty CC, because people love to mash. Then, because this game wants you to mash so hard, you medium slide into s.HP, and net another CC.
