I’m so gonna play Injustice 2.
I hope they bring in Lobo though, and I’d really love Cassidy from Preacher, 6-Pack from Hitman or John Constantine but those three will probably not make it in.
Wow, just wow. I guess Capcom was too busy re-releasing Monster Hunter with two extra monsters and putting out more shitty RE7 DLC to bother working on SF this month. What a fucking joke of a company, they shouldve been bought out a couple of years ago when that was on the table. This is looking like Brawl’s development cycle at this point.
5 frames difference between the standard for overheads is pretty big. It means you literally are sleeping whenever you get hit with it. Only time you see it usually land is in the corner on a wake up situation where you can try and meaty it and hope the opponent was sleeping on the early start up frames. Otherwise you get it blocked and mash ex dp and hope they tried to press a button.
People do sleep so it happens, but Ibuki has so many other ways to open you up that the slowest overhead in the game doesn’t really get much practical use at high level. The unsafe overheads from Guile, Karin, Juri etc. I see get much better hit rates in tournament. They’re all characters with ranged, cancelable low forwards (Guile into overhead target) and good forward walk.
Being able to open people up with cancelable lows and frames traps is much more important. Which is why I personally will easily take faster overhead with more range and barely punishable at max range if they don’t have super. Much easier to use in neutral as people are watching their feet for so long against your cancelable low that the overhead becomes stronger through that
I live in a good pocket for Injustice talent and I got 2 really strong players/good friends willing to take me under their wing. Getting more ready to jump on Boon’s Wild Ride by the day.
Pft you think there will be a tekken 7 by the time Inj2 hits, those 2 weeks between releases will be plenty of time to root out anti-boon forces and throw them up against the wall.
I’m not going to call number 1 card for her. Still has issues that could keep her out of a top 1. Just like Season 1 Chun I won’t downplay and leave her at potential top 3.
Top tiers have their issues too. I don’t think anyone didn’t know that even though Chun was top tier, her V Skill sucked and she wasnt that good vs strong fireball games (and still isn’t now)
I emplore you to watch any of Xians, Majorboy’s, Narikun’s or other top Ibukis match videos and show me the overhead clean landing with any consistency. Other than smoke bomb set up I don’t think you’re going to see it. Counter hit s.mp, fmk target is the only thing that disguises it decently due to hit stun on the previous button and if you landed the s.mp you could have just got a combo any way.
There are good and bad points w/ both CAPCOM and NRS games IMO.
I just gravitate towards capcoms style gameplay more than NRS style.
That’s really just preference tho.
But thing that Capcom can really learn from NRS is…
the single player experience from NRS is top notch(story mode, arcade towers, minigames ect)
NRS REALLY listens/Communicates with their fans(maybe too much, LOL)
NRS/WB puts alot of money back into their community thru POT BONUSES(ie SonicFox’s Pockets)
NRS can learn from Capcom …
That you can support more than 1 game at the same time. UMVC3 and SF4 were the 2 biggest games out at the same time and they both thrived.
NRS practically moves on from a game after 2-3 years, MKX is a really good game and there is NO reason why both Injustice2 and MKX cant coexist IMO
NRS patching cycle is a little too much IMO. Maybe since the life cycle of the games isn’t that long, they feel a need to keep refreshing the games meta???
Ummm completely off topic, but if memory serves me right I THINK I remember a player going as devil jin who used ibuki in 3S and made it far in the pools around 2007-2009.
I think games would last longer if companies just buffed weaker characters to compete with top tiers as opposed to nerfing top tiers AND changing how characters play. Change the game least amount possible to make it better.
That way the game can last longer as more and more characters become viable combined with new characters. It’s not like Perfect balance can be achieved day 1 but it seems like a lot of depth is usually left on the table.
