Starting to think that the reason we aren’t even getting an image of the new character is because capcom is so behind schedule, they wan’t to keep the gap of content between updates shorter.
If NRS, a company with a far worse track record for playable online experiences than Capcom, can completely overhaul their netplay then the fact that Capcom is having this much of an issue with the same sort of problem is even more laughable. Hell, the fact that it took them almost a year to even acknowledge the fact that their netplay is hot garbage is a fucking joke. I also don’t know why you’re bringing up Tekken 7 as that game wasn’t delayed. It’s been out for ~2.5 years. The fact that it’s not out on console is more the result of an archaic mindset of the developer than anything else.
If you paid upfront for a meal at a restaurant, how would you feel if the waiter came by your table 40 minutes later and suddenly announced you could either wait another 40 minutes to be served or have your food undercooked, and btw no refunds?

I know that MK vs DC gets a lot of hate by the MK/Injustice/NRS community, but when I first played it as a casual in 2010 (before I started fighting games in 2011, but grew up with them extremely casually as a child) I fucking loved that game. Sub Zero and Batman were my boys.

It’s nearly half a second start up while Ken’s is not half a second start up. It’s the slowest overhead in the whole game. If you get hit by it you deserve all of it. You can reactively jab it out or throw it before she comes down and even her smoke bomb setups for it telegraph her foot outside of the smoke.

Yeah, it only took a year (or a year and a half for PC) for NRS to develop the new netcode. Not to mention that the PC version has been unoptimized garbage until October 2016 and still has bugs that were never fixed. Meanwhile Capcom was aware of the terrible state of online at least since November and they likely didn’t make the switch earlier because their contract with the shoddy Korean backend was still ongoing.

I’ve actually had something like that happen. I ordered a sub combo (8" sub, fries and a drink), got my beverage and sat down to wait for the order. Around 20 minutes later I inquire about the status of my food at which point in time I was informed that they were out of bread. I just walked out.

It will not be perfect anyway we’ll know that. There’s still hope about the next character isn’t porn mustaches sorry ass Byron,but Capcom shows an unexpected talent in disappointing me these days. If after all that mess the character is really Byron and he’s only playable for beta testers then we could applaud for this reverse masterpiece,definitely they’re good at surpassing people’s worst expectations.
It’s easier for other companies to go over Capcom bar level if we talk about PR. Good Lord this company.
Street Fighter is very 70’s/80’s/early 90’s anime while GG is very late 90’s/early 2000’s anime.
In SF you have karate men, kung fu fighters, ninjas, pro wrestlers, and a bunch of other tropes throwing magical energy at one another.
You have a dark powerful force that threatens to take control of the protagonist, as it did his master’s brother(btw his master WAS BURIED IN THE GROUND FOR 2 YEARSTHEN CAME BACK), and is a constant source of alternate reality content.
The bad guys are A ) an immortal dictator who uses cloning technology to give himself host bodies to prolong his life, and to provide himself soldiers B ) the literal illuminati(which is an apocalyptic cult in universe) who are run by magically powered brothers, one of which has a messiah complex C ) a literal jojo’s pillarman who is trying to eat the souls of strong warriors, but fails to eat ryu’s because ryu no longer struggles with his SUPER POWERFUL BUT EVIL side(OC do not steal).
Like legit the street fighter story is stupid anime bullshit from top to bottom.
Also street fighter has a billion actual animes, plots of which have been integrated into the main storyline.

Its going to be legit fantastic online play(barring maybe any server boops in the first day or two that happens when a game launches), the ggpo-like they made up for MKX is fantastic.
Well for Capcom it was a year two months ago so I guess NRS beats them out for timeliness. Capcom should have been aware of the terrible state of the online play since February 2016 because it sucked in most of the betas and has sucked since launch. They also should have done whatever it took to get out of the contract with the Korean server company and/or started up the improved version before that contract was up. There are no good excuses for how Capcom has handled this situation. Period.
