Shadow, I don’t care if shorts are easier on hit, that’s a small issue. its a benefit either way that its easier, it means we will be less likely to drop them when nervous. the real benefit is that plus frames on hitstun more than likely means plus frames on blockstun. its 2 frame startup, active on the third frame with +1 on block, +4 on hit currently. If it gets +1 for hit and block, not only will we get 1 more frame of leniency on hit but most importantly we get a true blockstring. shorts on block are extremely unsafe against characters with invincible reversals. Chun, Ryu, Sagat, Akuma, Cammy, etc. Daigo mash DP I see it! I sitting right next to him! Yeah thats the biggest problem with shorts. high risk, low reward. its a fantastic pressure string because it leads to loops, but currently unsafe and we saw Daigo taking advantage of that in the foney match and i’m sure we all have eaten a reversal trying to apply short pressure. with +1 on block, it becomes airtight and we can keep riding the momentum without hesitation and that’s very important to bison’s game. even if its just +1 on hit, that’s going to make cr.lk, st.lk link much easier so off of a cr.short we will be able to do (from point blank), cr.short, cr.short, st.short, cr.mk xx roundhouse scissors for like close to 300 damage. that’s great news. off of an FADC’d full BNB, you can do around the neighborhood of 400 damage and depending on the situation riding that momentum and getting that damage could be well worth it, esp against low health characters like chun and akuma.

as for st.roundhouse being ‘godlike’, i dunno…i mean im pretty sure it wasnt jago who actually played the game, so who knows what that means. If I were you though I’d be more positive than skeptical at this point. It’s alright to be skeptical, but im open to the information. nothing is guaranteed, so lets just wait and see.

Having cr.shorts be a true combo will prevent people from mashing DP through it on block. I am really excited for this change. ^^Did a great job of explaining why.

the changes to cLK are much needed, as (sorry to say it) the Andre vs Daigo match proved. You can still mash out of bisons BnB combos with SRK, and thats a problem.

Godlike sHK is nice, especially considering how often it trades with jumpins (rather than flatout beat them like Guiles/Rogs/Sakura’s cHP can do, or rufus cMP)

I am NOT thrilled about the rest of his tools staying the same, although I feel this is more of how the current build is. Changes to specials will likely be one of the last things they deal with, after combos, normals, links, and so on. His PC is a joke and everybody knows that, whether u live in Japan or North America. Pretty sure there are pigmies in New Zealand that have never seen electricity yet tell jokes about Psycho Crusher. DR can stay the same for all I care, but it could also use a change. HS only needs to force block and I am happy. But PC changes are essential. If not, just get rid of it…don’t wanna accidentally use it in a match.

My major problem with Bison is that he is no longer a full screen threat. 1/3 of any match is me chasing after a dude going into a corner. He’s like a lame ass Gief. He HAS to get in close to do damage. Gone are the days you could 3/4 screen HS and start some mindgames. Do that now and your opponent will just walk out of HS reach and punish you. Full screen PC takes a full second to reach across the screen…that is just plain wrong.

Ah, okay. I wasn’t thinking about that at all… lol. That IS something I’ve been shit scared of when I fight Ryu/Sagat, so now it’s great to know I don’t have to second guess my attacks anymore. I was only thinking along the lines of execution.

^^^ No Andre got this information from someone else. He hasn’t played ssf4 Bison yet.

That combo would be nice as a low starting BnB, but it’s nowhere near 300 damage. More like:

20+20+300.8+70.7+130*.6 = 191

The good news is that’s nowhere near broken and better than cr.shortx4 xx mk.scissors which gets 136 damage. I see no reason why it couldn’t be added.

Making cr. LK x 3 easier kinda makes me pissed because I put in a lot of work to master it for nothing.

I bought a PS3 on launch day.

If they gave cr.short more hit stun I won’t even care if they keep that dumb wandering hitbox shit that makes CvS2 bnb whiff against Balrog on crossup.

But seriously though, I got a fat PS3 too. I’d actually be agonizing if I had enough money to get Heavy Rain.

I actually agree on most people thinking on ignorance that S. HK has ‘‘godlike’’ priority. A lot of the people I play tend to think it’s OP when really they just aren’t taking advantage of me using it. It really lacks as an anti-air I just use it when I know it’ll hit.

So really the only thing I think the person who gave the information REALLY noticed was the cr. lk links being easier, which is OK. That coupled with his ultra is more than what a lot of the cast can say in their favor. cough gen, akuma, fei long, cammy, Guile.

I have a launch PS3 too. Lasted me a few months before I got the Yellow Light of Death and it died. My Launch 360 still works. -_- I had to buy another PS3, of course, months before the ‘slim’ came out for 100 dollars less.

That’s dumb though. Also, unless it’s a change to the input buffering, that also means Bison has more frame advantage off of a crouched short. Also it means you will miss the combo even less in a critical situation. If you are complaining about this sort of thing as a Bison player you are a dummy. More frame advantage off a critical normal is a universally welcome buff.

Buffs are cool, but what he’s saying is that it’s like he put in the work for nothing. Kinda like the Dictator equivalent of going through med school for 10 years and then a year after you graduate, anyone with a stethoscope and a labcoat gets to be a doctor.

Although I agree totally with alot of your points; I still can’t see HS still doing that much damage when you want it force block aswell, but yeah I can understand that it can be done if HS dmg gets nerfed however thats something we don’t want. A good improvement to HS would be giving the normal version the same vacuuming properties in the air as the EX one; I just hate how someone can empty jump backwards in the corner and not get hit.

PC is a total joke; the amount of startup frames accompanied with the awkward hitbox in there is just downright stupid. IMO a good fix to PC would be making it have more block stun; or make all version go through your opponent just enough to disable him from punishing you.

I’d love to see HK be a reliable anti-air now that doesn’t trade; If they’re going to make cr.lk easier to land then it might really tip the tier list in our favor.

People might not realize this; but making cr.lk easy is going to give us a confidence boost we might not realize till we actually play the game alot. I see it as a good addition.

whoops, those numbers were off the top of my head and I based it off of my memory of what a jump in bnb did starting with fierce. yeah, off of the ground it does 191 exactly. off of a jump in fierce however, cr.short, cr.short, st.short, cr.mk xx roundhouse scissors is 274 , cr.short, cr.jab, st.lk, cr.mk xx roundhouse scissors for 282. that’s close enough to 300 damage. cr.jab, st.close jab, st.short, cr.mk xx roundhouse scissors does 292 though hah. it doesnt really matter that my numbers were about right for jump in fierce, cr.short etc. because if you can hit confirm the jump in then you might as well do an ‘easier’ bnb for more damage, lol. i was excited and i tend to accidentally exaggerate when that happens, thanks for calling me on that, it was misleading.

on another note, if dictator gets a damage/stun boost, FADC combos might be more worthwhile in super and riding the momentum could actually net you some decent reward.
