The SSF4 Dictator Request Thread

Honestly, it sounds a lot more like “Now, suck a dick!” at the beginning of his Ultra.

If I remember correctly he says something like “Naki Sakebe” so it has a N sound.

Just played turbo hd remix and…

+We can actually use physco crusher!
+Way better damage
+Head stomp is 101% better
+Devil reverse is too.
+Playing the 2d street fighters felt like 1980s again

I think i’m going to stay in turbo remix for now, until capcom fixes this broken character in SSF4 (keep in mind they still created a solid character but he got nerfed… BADLY)

Dude, we get it.

For you, the day Super Street Fighter II: Turbo came out, was the most important day of your life. But for me… it was Tuesday.

Tuesday, March 1994.

I just wanted to point out that SF2 didn’t actually come out until 1991 (unless you’re talking about the first game in which case I feel bad if you spent quarters on that sh**).
Otherwise, I agree. ST is a much better game although I often find myself wishing ST had some dashes (other than Blanka’s surprise forwards).

Does anyone have any idea when we’ll actually find something out about Bison? Is there a planned event coming up where they’ll stream more of ssf4 or anything like that? Really sucks that we don’t know about anything for sure besides the new ultra.

EDIT: I was just reading the new post in “New info only” and the post goes over various characters yet of course no Bison news :frowning:

Just had to share more of the greatness that is the Devil’s reverse hitbox:

Anyway, played some Bison tonight in SF4. I’m most likely dropping him tonight and going to begin practicing with someone else. Been a good year, but I have to start from scratch if I’m going to end up leaving charge characters. Deejay might have some mileage but I seriously doubt Capcom is going to let him be pretty good.

Too many Ryu’s, too many free shit. It literally becomes, boring. Like, the WHOLE GAME becomes boring to the point I’d rather not play it than have to deal with the same down-back, medium kick xx Hadoken repetitious nonsense that WORKS. It’s like everyone is honestly that much better than me, but I can’t tell. I can’t see a bit of uniqueness amongst any of them. Not even a bit. They even remind me of Daigo tbh, it’s like, with every loss to that character I lose respect… just the tiniest bit with anyone who uses him because, I really can’t see anything different about them anymore.

Oh well, SSF4 proves to look interesting, but man, what an evening.

Later inverse you will beg for forgiveness when super drops.>=<

Btw, can I have your avatar? lol

LoL no~!

Honestly, it’s just frustrating man. Bit by bit, I get better. I see ‘personal’ improvement every day. I do a few hours. I’m nailing links like crazy. Execution is getting better. Becoming ‘aware’ of what I’m fucking up now, so I can fix it. I go out of training feeling refreshed.

Then I get back on that hamster wheel where DP is the answer to everything, and is ridiculously safe to almost any kind of rebuttal I can do. The guy can literally throw them at no risk. All the tools I got, to break him out of down back, he has too, and more. It’s frustrating. I hear SSF4 is supposed to be a more offensive, engaging title, but no real world why this is.

Psycho Punisher isn’t going to fix everything. You can’t win on shenanigans and gimmicks alone. Not without speed and safety. You can’t nerf a character and leave others traditionally intact (like Ryu) and not expect some kind of discrepancy. My opponent has to* let me* beat him, for me to beat him. Doesn’t feel right. Makes even winning feel, unsatisfying.

Bleh, I do have a fever atm~ getting pretty high. Maybe I should put the stick down tonight. If anyone here wants a few rounds to cheer me up tomorrow let me know.

I recently went to a 2v2 tourney with my Bison, and it was weird. I was surrounded by SF4 for almost 1 and 1/2 days, and usually I’d be sick and tired of SF4, and hate Bison so much more. However, I found that I really wanted to keep playing and improving my Dictator. I guess it was because I was in the presence of many players that were better than me, but it really rekindled that competitive spirit that I lost a while ago.

I dunno man, I think you’re looking too deep into it. I’ve felt like you before, and I’ve almost dropped Bison for another character. Hell, I pretty did drop him, but the only reason I stuck with Bison was because I didn’t like any other character.

Bison is good, but succeeding with him relies much more on the player than the character. Not to say that Ryu is simple to pick up and pwn with, but it helps to have a really strong move like a DP - especially if you have 2 meters to make it completely safe.

Since Bison doesn’t have a strong tool like a DP, a lot of his damage comes from finding openings, baiting, and just overall smart play. It’s frustrating I know, but all I can really tell you is to stick with it. There may be a solution to problem that’s right under your nose.

I think bison has outlived his usefulness about 9 months into the release of SF4. Everyone knows his game because it’s limited to a handful of mindsets and strategies; a game that relies on tools that are powerful (they really are, u only need to look at about half the cast to see that he’s quite powerful) but nonetheless lacking basic things which eventually destroy him.

I mean, the most basic things; as others have pointed out, tracking on HS, not locking the opponent like say a FA does; DR’s hitboxes and trades, inferiority of j.mp to most of the moves in the game, slowness and high risk/reward ratio of PC which greatly diminishes its use.

It’s really laborious to win a game against a good ryu or sagat player, and close to impossible to on a good akuma player.

Not having many wake-up options, I’d suggest the teleport move to be more concise (if that means it’s time-limiting, that’s only fair) rather than the current tweaky version. No one would argue that j.mp should have more priority i guess. Locking down the opponent when HSing would solve the tracking problem i think, and lastly, PC could either be faster or can do more stun+damage and be a real combo finisher or punisher. Bison’s good, but these will make him on par with the top tier characters imo.

One more thought, one thing i’d like to see is extending active frames of PC to the point where maybe u can FADC cancel out of it while buffering charge, and linkt to ultra? Don’t follow the suggestions on the forums really, i’ve always wanted to do this for some reason

Bison definitely has his flaws, but I don’t think playing against Ryu/Sagat/Akuma is really all that bad.

I dunno, maybe I have a different mindset than some of you guys because I absolutely LOVE playing against these three characters now. At that 2v2 tourney I went to, I played against a very solid Akuma, and it was really fun. Even though I didn’t get a round on him, and he basically beat me to a pulp, I was interested in seeing how he played (both the player and the character) against me.

I do agree with the buffs you mentioned though. If not better HS tracking, I would prefer it to at least force the opponent to block. Of course, we all know PC is gutter trash, so I definitely think Bison will get some decent upgrades to his signature attack. The measly gap between SK’s and PC’s damage/stun is an insult.

DR hitbox is pretty crappy, and added to the fact that you can’t really cross up with it makes it not useful outside of building meter. Even then it’s a mediocre way of doing so. I’d love to see Hell Attack get a better hitbox, but I’m kind of doubtful at this point. I’d much rather the startup for cr.fierce get shortened.

Good point, having c.fp as a reliable anti-air like ryu’s would help bison’s game a lot

And one last snippet before I zone out

As much as I’d like to drop bison and main dudley come SSF4, I think the logically needed upgrades/fixes will be implemented to make bison a very tempting choice of character for people like us. April 27th will be a good day

this applies to everyone but hitbox fixes would be really really really fucking nice.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: If Bison doesn’t get significant improvements, all my training will go to waste and I will start from scratch with Makoto or Ibuki.

But I have gotten so good with him that I wish I can just continue to rape people with a new and improved Bison instead of learning a new character.

To me, Bison is the coolest looking character, and fun as hell to use, but he really needs some improvements to compete. His new Ultra is a awesome step in the right direction but a “paint the fence” instant overhead (with

purple flames and all) will SEAL THE DEAL! C’mon CAPCOM! Do it!! Give my man Bison something! He is THE definitive BOSS of the SF universe after all. (He has a bunch of Seths as freakin PETS for god’s sake! If that’s not

BOSS STATUS… I don’t know what is!!!)

I dont know if anyone of real influence reads these forums, but I thnk we ALL have to remind them that Bision is an original boss character, which means he should be top teir. Or whats the point of him ruling shadaloo if his miniuns can slap him.

nah i dont like that logic. It’s the same logic that says dictator is the game boss so he should be top tier can be used to say Sagat and Seth deserve 1200 HP and Sakura and Ibuki deserve 800 HP because the’re young and pretty much a regular human. Story and physical apperance should have no bearing on how a character is balanced. You have people saying Sagat is a giatn mui thai boxer, of course he should have high HP and be top tier! It’s dumb logic because you can say well Seth is the game boss and Dictator is virtually immortal, so they should in fact be top tier. The only logic that works for why dictator should be made of top stuff is that SF4 is supposed to be a return to roots, so the characters and their matchups should remain as close as possible to ST. They took Dictator ST and gave him more defensive options and nerfed his offensive potential badly. If it’s a return to roots why the hell did some players retain their former glory and get even better and some characters are just shadows of their former selves like Dhalsim, arguably Blanka, Dictator obviously, and others? That’s the only logic to justify Dictator being ‘top tier’ and I don’t even want him to be top tier, you’d see Dictator mirror matches all day and people would whore him out. The best I want Dictator to be is to be as close to his ST version in the SF4 engine as possible.

I gotta love the narrative logic as a means of justifying X and Y balance issues. You could go on all day. Seth is a damn robot he should be nearly indestructible! Akuma is a goddamn demon, where is his HP?? Bison has a weak new body because he got impatient so he should only have 500 HP and a shitty psycho crusher!

i dont think akuma is a demon as much as just a really bad guy. and that part about bisons storyline in SF4, well I’m hoping that will improve to create a badass mother fucker in SSF4

This is not related with SSFIV but I want to share with the Bison community a nice moment. Looks like an anime or something, with the dust cloud and Bison jumping off it. @ 1:15
