SOOOO many people would bitch about that (like they already do about a handful of moves), but man, I kinda always expected PC to be a horizontal SRK. That shit should be useful or trade as AA, fuck up or trade with almost every special, but still be punishable by fireball and specific specials for each/some characters. No matter what, you shouldnt be thrown or have startup that is THAT fucking horrid. I also think EVERY style of PC should stop fireballs Greenfist style, but get knocked out of its animation.
I personally could wait to find out who the last few characters are. Just as long as they gave us some info on what they would LIKE to do with each of the characters. If it gets left out, it gets left out. Whatever. But I would like to be able to ponder my options, nonetheless.
I think what Bison is lacking is a form of launcher or command grab that throws up into the air, so that you can combo :mp::mp: -> Ultra or Head stomp.
It’d make for some good mix up too, as command grabs generally beat throws so you could go tick -> command grab then juggle.

Why not? Not that it was especially safe after CE - you needed to use it from specific ranges in otder not to get killed on recovery. This is different to SFIV, where you get killed every time it’s blocked.
Also, it WAS used as a horizontal SRK of sorts before - the hitbox on it was such that you could hit trade with FBs in your favour from a certain range. Very hard to time though. And from mid-range, Scissors Kick was better to poke people with since it was safer on block, no different to how it is now, except that if your opponent jumps at you, you won’t get killed if you get hit in the middele of Scissors.

Nope. Bison used PC as anti-air in SF2 and it wasn’t at all broken. It could only be used as anti-air from specific ranges, against specific characters (forget it against Ken or Sagat), and it was more useful as anti-crossup than anti-air anyway (currently cannot be used as anti-crossup; or hell, anything other than anti-focus).
(BTW, for those who don’t know, you could be thrown out of PC on startup in SF2 as well - you’d heard the “whoosh” sound effect and all while Bison got tossed - though it was very difficult to do regularly if you weren’t Gief).

We have the solution for that already: Use Bison’s back throw as a launcher like in CFJ. You could do back throw, j.MPx2, super in CFJ, so there’s no reason he shouldn’t be able to do back throw, j.MPx2, Ultra in SSFIV.
^^ Yeah I’ve played ST a bit lately and sometimes even scissor kicks knocked people out of the air, as well as PC. It wasn’t OP though because it wasn’t totally consistent and needed to be timed well.
Ahhh the back throw in CFJ is exactly what I was thinking of.
It’d be great if we had the properties of that move changed back for SSF4, at least there’d be a way to combo his ultra that didn’t consist of baiting an air jump.
I dont see how giving PC the ability to go through opponents would be OP. EX PC does it, and that can still be punished by a large amount of the characters.
Also, how can it be more powerful than some other characters moves? Tatsu’s by the shoto’s basically force you into a 50/50 situation where you could be SRK’d or thrown after, depending on how you react to it. And EX Tatsu is godly for Ryu and Akuma, and to a lesser extent Ken.
Wha? Most characters can crouch and punish Tatsu with at least a medium attack easily. It’s harder with lk tatsu, but all lk tatsus are unsafe. Ryu’s EX Tatsu is pretty damn good, yeah, but so is EX PC.
Just curious as to what people would think of giving Bison a fireball? QCB motion?
Of course it wouldn’t be fast or competitive in a fireball war, but it’d help stop people from jumping back and playing defensive all match vs Bison.
If they made it QCB, you could effectively charge while you did it as well.

PC would be great as its former horizontal anti-air version…In fact, that would give a nearly useless move a good use, while retaining balance. It wouldn’t be a rock solid anti-air, no, Bison shouldn’t have one, but it’d be pretty good.
Also, for juggles…anti-air PC > fadc > hell punch or whatever(double air mk) > ultra would solve both problems. Then again, I guess that’s just another anti-air ultra setup, but a more versatile one.
shit would be nice 2 see but i doubt its going 2 happen. We (the SF community) are hyping it SO much that Capcom is just holding DB for days. They are going 2 milk it 2 the very end with the old cast. New cast, now thats different.
I think if they Fix PC for Anti-Air properties that will fix Bisons game a LOT. It’ll help him against characters who hole UB all day help him get in faster for his rushdown game to commence. Theres no chance of him being top tier in SSF4 so I’m not concerned about them breaking him. haha
