The SSF4 Dictator Request Thread

I adapt so quickly if someone’s strategy it too jump back constantly vs Bison that they get stunned.

Seriously I just get in range and spam S hk all day if they do that. But I will say it can be tougher than it should be. It is also really risky vs shotos sagat who instead of jumping back again can just dp fadc ultra. I don’t care though.

Anyway I wonder when we will get any info on the new characters. I didn’t follow the release of sf4 too much- did they release any specific details (frames/damage) before it was released to arcades?

I think I’ve faced you on PC before. do you have an account on there?
JANUARY 7th we get our first look at the new Bison!!!

yeah smart Balrog’s will do this move when you’re in the corner and they think you want to EX PC out. However there IS a way to punish this. Jumping mp baby!

Yes that video is from the PC. I just started playing again recently- keep taking breaks. I can do combos finally again!

Nice that well get some real info soon- had no idea itd be that soon.

I wasn’t saying it was hard, or difficult to get around. Just really REALLY annoying when the first half of a round is spent just fucking chasing a guy. In older games, I could have just PC’d you from across the map if you wanted to be dumb like that. Now, I gotta chase after you for a minute.

And getting in range and spamming sHK was half the problem, as I stated. I literally had to just chase after him into the corner then deal with an EX punch, then he would jump over me and jump his way to the OTHER corner…any time he got out of a corner, it was hop hop hop to the other mother fucker.

Like I said, not difficult to deal with, just REALLY fucking boring. I play street fighter, not street bunny.

And Tyson, how do you know we learns shit on the 7th?

Make the Knee Press Nightmare’s kicks into overheads, so folks have to block high, high, low. I’d laugh.

soviet, i thinks he just means after the fight club event because all the cast will be playable, i think apart from the ones yet to be revealed.

Let’s just pray for PC to have EX-PC speed properties w/o invincible frames. I’ll be happy then. Then it’ll just be a matter of frame tweaks, new fun Ultra and we’ll have a pretty solid character.

Fake roundhouse perhaps?!?!

even though people will whine about PC being EX-PC speed, I don’t give a rats ass. Bison has nothing even remotely close to abusable, (I’ll laugh my ass off if someone says lk. scissors) and even a regular PC with EX-PC speed, minus the invuln frames would NOT be over-powered or abusable in any sense. I think it should also cover more distance and some more properties given to the different versions. The hitbox should also be as large as possible because it trades/gets beaten cleanly by normals far more than wins against things like neutral jumps or jumping back which is just silly. EX PC is lucky to beat something like that cleanly.

I honestly want more variety to the character’s moveset and that can be achieved by just rendering his current moveset USEABLE. its unfortunate that although he has six specials, more than most of the cast, he has like two really excellent ones and 4 of them are nearly useless.

Oh and before any non bison mains ask me to take some psycho-gutta to go with my whine, I like my character where he is and would totally live with it if he stayed the same. Having the Ryu matchup tilt between 5-5 and 6-4 in your favor is kinda nice (on paper). Not many people get that luxury, I just want him to be even stronger and a little bit more complex this next iteration. People talk shit on the console characters but even used to their fullest, they have better mixups.

Yeah basically. Bison is 100% about just plain old playing better than the other guy. He doesn’t have guessing games or reliable, solid strats in the vein that hadouken > shoryuken will work against most anyone. The tools he has are good but they don’t lend themselves very well to any one specific role. Bison isn’t really a rush down char. He’s only remotely so because he has to get in close to cause big hurt, but he doesn’t have any real rush down tools, which is why Guile is a bad match up for him.

I like that Bison isn’t easy to class, but I don’t like that he’s so one dimensional when it comes to getting in and laying on the hurt

Probably been discussed, but i’d like to see his hitbox for standing HK to be fixed. I got kicked out of sweep when i was playing as Claw. I went to slide/sweep and BAM

really?

Fixed? His st.HK is fine.

his s.RH is perfect dont dare touch it unless im getting my specials redone to be useful in exchange even then RH is just so good i might not even want that trade off

if anything the hitbox is too wonky. its quite small at the tip and larger around his legs so that in order to anti-air cleanly you actually need to hit them on the INSIDE of the thigh-calf. that’s just weird and makes for some awkward looking anti-airs that just don’t seem to make sense when the tip of his boot (the part you’d suppose hits the cleanest) is nowhere near the opponents hitbox. it’s nice because you have such a broad length that has active boxes but I trade too often with the tip since it’s kinda tough (at least for me) to be confident about the spacing enough to use the larger portion of the hitbox as AA. I’d be satisfied if they made the hitbox a bit smaller along the leg and larger at the tip of the boot.

PS: Bison’s s.HK doesn’t really need any upgrades of course I’ll happily take anything I can get. Its perfectly acceptable the way it is, what needs fixing is Vega. I don’t mean that in a snide way, I seriously want him to get better this time around, he obviously deserves it far more than Bison. By the way blocked Ryu sweep is punishable by Bison as well as many other character’s sweeps. You probably got beat out of the startup frames.

What I like about Bison are his speed and mobility and the flashiness of his moves (in my eyes). Nothing more satisfying than pressing someone’s skull in with your feet. All that he needs imo is better utility on some of his specials and greater damage output. Hopefully they throw in fake slide too.

Wow Mike, stopped trolling finally? Welcome to SRK we hope you enjoy your stay.

oh, don’t get me wrong, i love his tools right now, it’s just u don’t see enough of them. Most of the moves could be fixed just by changing the hitboxes (DR, SD, and HS), while PC needs a complete overhaul though. The amount of shit that beats it is a complete joke.

Personally, it SHOULD go back to the beta bison ways, and ALL versions should be somewhat faster, and go through opponents. That way distancing would be useful (so I could LP PC and go through my opponent but recover on the other side, able to combo him…or MP and be far enough away to possibly bait a reversal), and he wouldnt NEED meter to get out of a corner.

And Capcom has to pick ONE move that can be thrown. SK or PC, and my vote is for SK being the throwable one. No way should half his arsenal be defeated by cMK and throws.

Maybe less horizontal range and more vertical range on st.RH would give him a better AA and less “spamable” move. That would make more people happy I would think.

However, my problem with that is it would only make him more boring. Throwing out st.RH gives the opponent something to think about which in turn allows him more offense. Switching that with a better AA would only make Bison more boring and defensive. Imo I feel Bison should be more like his ST form. All out offense and horrible defense, perhaps slightly more balance so he can still be fun and compete.

How to Fix Bison and Still be Fun:
All in all, I like his normals as they are. Good frame advantage which allow for decent mix ups, good pokes, and some decent pressure. Some people want cr.FP to have more of a use but I feel there is one and it shouldn’t be changed. The problem with peoples idea on how this move works is that it is supposed to AA on reaction. As silly as this sounds cr.FP is actually a poke. You use the move as a preemptive AA/poke by throwing it out every once and a while right at the tip of the move.
Example: At the end of a block string throw out cr.FP instead of Knee Press. This covers two options, jump-ins and the opponent trying to hit you. Even if they block the move Bison is at a good position because of st.MK.

Another move I hear too many complaints about is his Head Press. I’m not trying to see Bison flying all over the place spaming this one move. The move is good when it comes to corner pressure and it has good chip damage. I mean, how many uses do people expect to cover with this one move? No thank you.

Now on to Ex Psycho Crusher. I complain about how shity this move is quite a bit, but the more I think about it the more I realize that between Ex Devils Reverse and teleport Bison has really good “get out of pressure free” cards. I would imagine a bigger hit box might be good so it can trade more. That said you also have to think of the route that SSF4 is going. From what I understand Capcom is giving all characters a way to combo onto their ultra. That leaves me to believe that Bison will be able to combo off psycho crusher. This is the main reason why I feel there shouldn’t be too much invincibility on its Ex version.
For standard Psycho Crusher I would like to see the Fierce version a bit faster to make people somewhat weary mid screen and hopefully be able to do the ST corner trick.

Another issue that should change is his combo damage. The normals do the damage they are supposed to do so maybe that means to to increase the damage of Knee Press. Bison needs this in order to put fear in the opponent.

My objective would be to make Bison a more enjoyable character to play. To have him be top tier would be just as boring as having him where he is now. The other objective would be to make all the characters less “scrubby.” We have all these new players in the fighting scene so now is the time to make them learn they way they should play a Street Fighter game.

I will try not to troll for as long as possible, but you guy give me too much of a head ache when I try to be reasonable.

Give him Psycho Banish as a way to hit confirm his ultra. Thank you.

I’ve been playin with him for a couple of weeks so bare with me

 • I wish headstomp aftermath had more solid cross-up opportunity. I wanna jump on their heads, hit em bounce up and and hit em on the other side with the purp hand. Might be wrong but i swear he could do this in other games.

 • not sure if he needs a overhead normal or not, cant decide. But he has good walk speed so i grab alot.

 • Nightmare booster/Teleport. I know im not the greatest fighting gamer ever, my execution is normal but danm im having a hardtime with this shit.
