Would it be too much to ask to change the file names to match whose fighting? Btw, Genan sodomizes Gedo.
thx for sharing the ko-hatsu vids Time Stop. Links dont seem to work on there site. Im trying to get these vids for gfb news for awhile now.
did they change amakusa’s ball attack- I can see Amakusa being nastier then in special, due to his wakeup game now working, but I don’t see any stealth unblockables for him.
Theyre some of the best matches so far…
Thank me by telling me which Leona Kadena DVD your avatar is from.
Ive been eyeing some of her stuff for a while now (like her nude mook)…
This game is really fun now that it’s been out for a week and people are beginning to figure out what they’re doing.
I finally figured out what most of the grooves do. I’m trying to figure out which one is best but it’s really hard to tell right now–they might actually be balanced!
The one that seems the best right now is the “Zero” groove, it has the ability to slow down time and do a ridiculously big combo/finisher (basically like A-Groove) but a ton of conditions have to be met for you to actually execute it. First, you have to have almost no life–you can do it with more life by holding A+B to deplete your meter and adding to the minimal amount of health you need to execute it, charging S-Groove style througout the match. Second, your super meter has to be full. Finally, you can only do it once for the entire match, and after you’ve used it once you can’t use your super bar for the rest of the entire match. However, you are pretty much guaranteed to win the round that you activate it. Unfortunately, a lot of arcade machines are set to 3 out of 5 rounds instead of the standard 2 out of 3, which makes this groove a little weaker on those machines. I definitely prefer 2 out of 3 rounds for this game though, 3 out of 5 is just wayyy too long.
However, this groove still might be great because of it’s E button usage–the E button allows you to do a short hop straight up or do a forward hop dash, which seems to allow for some great ground crossup opportunities and tends to go underneath jumping opponents quite well to set you up for a throw or combo.
Ah, so the groove directly lifted from Samshow 5 is best so far? At least Enlightenment requires a full bar now
Can you do rage explosion to cancel that?
That’s the enlightenment groove from 5/0, right? I’m glad to hear that it’s still formiddable since I love enlightenment. And yes I was watching some match videos, I thought some were gonna be a team battle cause they were 5~6 mintues long…nope, just 1 2/3 match lol. 3/5 would just be silly, SS has always been a slower paced waiting game sprinkled with critical moments of ownage.
After some extended play, I have to say that yeah, this game is a welcomed edition to the Samsho family. The last? I guess sales will determine that. Honestly I find NGBC to be a pile of steaming shite after playing this, but then again I never was keen on most of SNK’s other fighters anyway. That being said:
Right now in our circle Yumeji is doing quite well. Personally I feel Yumeji “kind of” makes Ukyo pointless but that’s just me. I’m going to have to play with Ukyo more to see why I should play him over her.
Nicotine although a favorite hasn’t had much success in sustaining any leads, I see mad potential in him though, especiallly in 0 groove more on him later after I test some traps
Wan Fu is base Wan Fu it seems. Almost all of his old nasty tricks with butt splashes + crossups seem to work fine. Crossup super seems ‘harder’ to block for some reason.
Mina- seems to take less damage well everyone does, this works in her favor, nerfed DP move though isn’t to hot at all.
Tam Tam- The SEX, but alas he’s got his bad matchups. As usual Tam Tam is a zoning beast which means his prone to be rushed down. Now due to the decreased damage on throws being a defensive whore doesn’t cost as big a price. So Tam Needless to say Tam Tam causes timeouts. Although an arial horizontal slash = too sexy. Oh and the spinning blade attack isn’t half bad.
Shizamaru = anti tam tam, rush that shit down. This kids vicious almost all the tricks from 0 work with him. Problem is the push throw threat is hardly as prevalant.
Anyway after our first Samsho tourney in like a year I’ll have more to say about the game. I’m sure Mad is going to try and break it. His sights are set on a particular character which i won’t mention but honestly I don’t think breaking the game is going to be so easy. I’m not saying it’s balanced, just not broken.
In the Sogetsu matches, I always see him doing the HS, but it is finished by the watersplash from his super from the old games.
Is it a command followup, or is it his standard HS now? It would make him a bit safer if this is true.
Also, I noticed that he has something that destroys the bubble. Anyone know if that does anything?
Where’d you get a hold of this game?
Does Tam Tam still have the jump HS instant overhead?
Mad buys every samsho game. And I mean everyone. (Japanese version even) Yeah Tam Tam can still instant OH. It’s just now he has other slashes in the air as well. (aka L, M,H, don’t have the same animation anymore.)
Oh thanks for clearing that with Galford …, to sad.
Hanzo don’t changing is ok, as long as he still got his fireball, throw, poke mix up in some way.
you ruined an otherwise good post with this.
have you guys put any time into the amakusa trick?
thats the worst thing ive seen in this game so far…
Really? I thought that was the most informative.
Yeah we have a amakusa/mizuki specialist. It is a
bitch that’s for sure, so far we just try not to
give him an opportunity to use it. That being said
it’s a pain in the ass but not gamebreaking imo. Now
doods only played with us 2 days so we haven’t felt
the full impact of it. One of the guys was working on
infinites with the SSIV combo system with no avail…
and that’s a good thing.
id be interested to hear you reasoning behind the NBC comment…?
the way the ss characters feel in it?
Coincidentally my reasoning will sound like traditional SNK bashing but a little less biased. Like I said I never liked SNK games really outside of Samsho. No reason to get in depth per say. Honestly I think the “converts” who are giving NGBC a chance as opposed to many previous SNK games are doing it out of lack of choice. Not many 2D fighters on the horizon anymore. NGBC just reminds me why.
So far my complaints are pretty basic: Graphics, Design, Gameplay. I don’t like it Sam I am, I do not like green eggs and ham.
iop any chance to make some revival fierceslash.com with this new SS games ? ^^!
how much for the AW full kit now ? ( can t wait ps2 port …)
how much time you put into it? just curious…
ill give you graphics (blurry sprites).
but design and definitely gameplay ill have to agree to disagree
Can’t wait for the JPN PS2 port that hits in November. =)
