After about 5 minutes of refreshing, it loaded up fine, and now I’ve seen the vids. Seiger looks hot as fuck. I’m less enthused about Iroha now, because I’m not too big on combo chars (in sam sho, anyway). Her supers are hot tho.:hitit:

NBC is the best thing ive played in the last 5 years.
i enjoy it far more than ss5, ss5spc, anniversary, kof 2k3, rumblefish 1 or 2, svc, etc.
even more than 2k2 (which would be the 2nd best release in the last 5 years imo).
i enjoyed cvs 1 as well though it doesnt hold up balance wise really…
the new samsho is quality, has a great roster and feels tight. fun factor i dont know at this point, very subjective topic anyways. balance will be proven in the next month or so one way or another.

man i got beasted by a genan today, im such a dumbass for not seeing his potential. his fbs are his whole game!
throw a long one to keep the opponent trapped on the far side then fall from the sky with the new wall jump move.
throw a mid if they get close then attack with his claw throw (hcb+KICK) or jump in or dash in and dp or overhead from close, etc.
throw a close one when you knock them down and then overhead or jump straight up and heavy, etc.
only thing with him is his dash is a hop and i find it hard to use a character without a solid run throw game. plus his fb’s are not completely solid, they seem to change from light gas to heavy gas (when they are light gas, perhaps soon after he spits it you can jump out of it)… you can attack out of one thats on you if its not the fuller purple color…
How’s Tam Tam? From what I heard, he got new moves…which I would like to see :P.
Is Mina completely unplayable now?
If Galford is in his bust SS4 self …, nice thats rocks imho. Do he still has that electric kind of anti air???

nah i wish galford was his bust version though. hes the poppy version with the fireball.
hanzo and ukyo look like their ss5 selves though ukyo does have a new move sorta like a moriya slash move that hits from almost a full screen away and has a longish pose frame after he does it (why he needs a new move i dont know though, hes already good enough).
played caffeine. hes awesome, gonna try and pick him up. his j.C rules!!!

shit im really digging the feel of this new installment!
the thing im most impressed with though are the graphics, the marriage of 3d bgs + effects with nice finely drawn and clear 2d sprites is done very well in this game. andrews dashing attack (qcb+SLASH) has a normal version and an eagle version, the eagle version is an example of the nice graphics. the bgs are cool too.
cham cham, gave her a whirl today… she seems ok… her run speed is crazy making her really good at run=>throw… no matter how much you use it though its not a very effective technique for anything more than keeping your opponent on their back foot seeing as the damage on throws has been greatly reduced from 5 (where run throw was a major part of the game). seems like a good move design wise to lower the damage of throws to me.
her rdp+C move is the monkey jump and fireball spit one and it bounces the opponent so much you can jump in with a j.C for big damage off the juggle. if you can knock the opponent down and constantly rain the rdp+C on them as they wake up (you can roll as you get up now so meaties are a much bigger part of the game) then you are going to do well.
saw the top players trying to break the game tonight… they couldnt reliably block amakusas ball in the air rush down attack and they just kept doing it->knocking down->repeat as the opponent wakes up, right above the opponent… nine times out of ten they were eating it… they were talking about how they didnt know how to reliably block it and having a laught about it… time will tell how this gets handled.
started using caffeine. he is really cool and easy to use. his fb is ok. his qcb+slash move is awesome. a little blue spirit version of himself moves forward and does a three hit combo (i only really use the light version but ive seen the heavy and it seems to hit low on the last hit). the thing is you can juggle with a j.HSLASH while the opponent is getting hit by it. i havent put it all together yet but j.C(crossup)=>s.B=>qcb+A=>j.C seems to be possible. caffeines s.C does huge damaage, his j.C is an awesome crossup that can be done even if you dont crossup deep (which makes it safer for you seeing as its easy to punish a blocked crossup with a throw) and his c.B is pretty good.
after seeing the vids im glad theres no blood,it would ruin the pretty catroony style and i really like the jap lady singing on the snow stage!

I’ve gotta say that I really do like how this game turned out. The graphics look awesome and the new characters, and older ones as well, look great. But I gotta disagree with the blood. I wish there was blood and violence, but maybe with a home release that can do something about it. Either way, it’s not that big of a deal. I just want to hear about Genjuro and Yoshitora. :sad:
