the hills 1 remake was one of my favorite remakes. it had good pacing, you cared about the chars, decent violence.
new one undoes all of that. pacing is horrible, could care less about the people, it fell into the one guy dies, pause, next ugy dies, shhocking rape, people die, etc.
hills 1 film had a grainy look to it that helped the mood a lot, this one is all bright and colorful
boringggggggggggggg avoid at all costs
cobra is awesome, tribal axe dancing scene is needed in every movie
Just saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre: the Next Generation, shitfest from start to finish:mad:, just had to see since iâve seen the 3 previous ones, havent seen any of the current ones, any good??
yeah basically, although I would say just watch tcm 1 and 2 and dont even bother with the rest. I would put Next Generation ahead of beginning just because at least it tried some stuff and wasnt completely boring and predictable
I couldnt get into the first Hills remake. It was just that every âgoodâ part of the remake was what they took from the original, and everything new they added was either dumb or ineffective. And now Aja is going and doing some other remakeâŚitâs sad
Yes, TCM:the next generation was with Renee Zellweger, and Matthew McConaughey.
The thing is i kinda wanted to like it, cause i liked the original, thought part 2 ok, and 3 was meh, but this one just sucked badly, Leatherface became a transvestite and just became so fucking annoying, McConaugheyâs robot leg gave a me WTF look on my face everytime the camera focused on it.
I hear that the movie does have its share of fans, but i cant find a place anywhere where people are actually defending it.
Bottom line: âNight on Elm Streetâ series > âTexas Chainsaw Massacreâ series.
i personally think NoES > any other horror seuqel like Fri 13th, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw, Puppet Masters, etc.
The Freddy character had a good backstory that was for the most part consistant throughout every movie, whereas with Jason/Myers it seemed their story changed every movie
Iâve always said my Favorite Horror movie of all time was the John Carpenterâs âHalloween.â Music from that movie(not just the theme) owns every other horror movie. Of course most of the sequels just sucked in comparison.
i just canât compete with the horror film knowledge of alot of the members on here, since essentially iâm not a horror fan. thats not to say i donât enjoy horror films, but my palate is very limited. my tastes lie in films like tcm, the omen, exorcist, carrieâŚthe only more modern horror film iâve seen that i enjoy is audition. i do enjoy the first nightmare, but did not enjoy any subsequent ones. i recently saw the og nightmare on the big screen with a followup of all trhe death scenes from each film.
So The Howling II was possibly the greatest horror movie I have ever seen . I dont know I forgot about some of the stuff in it but this movie is straight GOLD.
Death Wish 3 was all sorts of awesome in the most nonsensically bad movie I have seen in a while. Death Wish 1 and 2 was somewhat realistic but part 3 is like a comic book. Hilarious good stuff though.
Cobra was pretty awfulâŚthe bad guys didnt even fight with the axes! Lots of 80s cheese.
saw 300 this weekendâŚa violence intake to hold me over until grindhouseâŚ
other than 300, i did no movie watching this weekend. we were going to watch the prestige last night, but we knew we would pass out before the end, so iâm sure iâll watch it tonightâŚ
Just rented and watched Rocky Balboa. Considering the fact that I had ZERO expectations for this movie, I was entertained. Some parts dragged, and the dialogue was horrid, but overall, the message was pretty good and the detailed way they depicted a fighterâs past glory (all the pictures/ghosts on the wall) was good.
finally saw the prestige. iâm going to do my review in a spoiler tag just in case iâm not the last eprson on here to see it.
prestige review
[details=Spoiler]ok, i figured half of it out by half way into the film. i knew that the other guy was his double, figured it was his twin. the wife thing gave it away. it was an ok movie, not as good as i was hoping. i hate movies that rely on reality for 90% of the film, but a major plot point relies on fantasy. i felt the machine that made clones was a little over the top and too easy of a crutch for the story development.
my fiance wondered if hugh and christian flipped a coin to see who had to play the americanâŚ[/details]
Sorry if this was aksed already, but are any of the â8 Films to Die Forâ any good? They have them all at my job, any worth getting or should I avoid them at all costs?
watched jesus camp last night. i know pg has got to love this one, proves his darkest fears about christians. i enjoyed it because it disturbed me. as a former christian, and one that came from a very open minded church, it was scary to see that side of the fundamentalist religion. i also like the view it took, not laying down judgement directly, but there was definately an air of negativity toward the fundies.
pg is your man on b movie horrors, the guy is like a catalog of information on the obscure and violent. i canât compete with his grindhouse knowledgeâŚ
