The SRK Movie Fanatic Thread (REVIEWS, QUESTIONS, RANTS, STARS...ETC.) EVERYTHING!

For whatever reason I’m stuck in on a Saturday - but Taxi Driver is on AMC, and I don’t feel like I’m missing out on a damn thing. This film easily breaks my top ten. At this very moment, I’m having difficulty thinking of a movie that I like more than it. Travis Bickle might be the best protagonist in the history of film.

i just saw The Libertine…very good movie imo…very well done and well directed…there was some camera direction i have never seen in a movie before as well…anyway, depp was amazing in the movie…

I watched Pan’s Labyrinth today. Pretty good. It’s a Spanish language fantasy. Plenty of gore and one of the monsters is creepy in a Silent Hill sort of way.

Holy Shit! I just stumbled upon this reply while looking for movies i should download. I just started downloading it now with the right title. I’ll rewatch it to see if i was wrong or not. Thanks man.

BTW - i know it’s been out for a while but i just watched it again last night. Watch KISS KISS BANG BANG. It’s so fucking hilarious and the girl is so freaking hot (the MI3 girl).

I watched Alone in the Dark the other night

I uh…kinda enjoyed it?

Just saw House of Sand and Fog. Pretty good movie, though it’s way too overboard with the symbolism. It’s supposed to be subtle, not thrown in your face.

so, i FINALLY watched the departed last night. i thought it was very good, but i really want to go back and watch it a second time. i was following the story so closely that i missed alot of the interesting editing and shots in the film. i really want to go back and look at how scorsese set up the scenes. there were some long shots used that i found very intriguing.

Yup, I finally watched it this weekend as well. For me first time through I didn’t feel I was paying too close to the story as scenes tended to run long and I just enjoyed watching the actors do their thing. It felt less kinetic than most scorsese pics, and while I definitely enjoyed it, I don’t think it amounted to as much in the end as I expect from his stuff.

Also finally watched the new Seven Samurai disc and it is  . The picture looks probably the best it has ever looked and I can’t wait to listen to the new audio commentary.

Also watched Music & Lyrics…don’t ask

i felt people’s comparison to goodfellas was a little out of line, but i did enjoy it greatly.

i hate you…if it wasn’t for overwhelming dental bills, i may be able to buy it, but now i have to wait…

you have a gf, no need to ask…i saw “never been kissed” in the theaters…not because i wanted to, but because i had a gf…however, my fiance knows my overwhelming hate for romantic comedy, so she goes with a gf or waits for dvd to watch 'em…

i just saw idiocracy (mike judge film), so awful, some parts were funny, interesting concept though…

and i also saw this film is not yet rated…documentary about the rating system and all the bullshit around it…i really recommend seeing this, it is pretty rediculous like wtf status…

yeah, i saw this one as soon as i could get a hold of it. it’s beyond insane. the film maker sucks at the form of documentary, but the topic is awesome…

I just finished watching Cannibal Holocust. For an old movie, its really graphic

Babel came out on DVD yesterday for anyone that’s interested in picking up a copy. What’s everyone looking to get?

Me: Babel, Little Miss Sunshine, Children of Men, Pan’s Labyrinth

me too and i loved it

POP goes my heartttttttt

Breach was pretty good too for a movie with no action or violence, it still kept you on the edge of your seat, kind of like what The Good Shephard should of been.

Personally, i gave up on watching horror movies in theaters because the unrated versions on DVD always turn out better, but I really want to see The Abandoned on Friday. here’s a trailer for it, looks pretty good http://youtube.com/watch?v=PdY0XeV6-ss

yeah it pretty much went down hill after the opening music video

oh yeah, and angry, you are going to really hate me…

Last night was the once-a-month grindhouse at the new bev. to celebrate black history month the showed Black Shampoo and The Human Tornado (the sequel to Dolemite) of which we were graced by the filmmakers, actors, etc. But the real news came when they announced that there would be NO grindhouse screening for the next two months. As everyone groaned, he revealed the reason: because for the next two months, EVERY screening EVERY night would be a grindhouse screening, courtesy of the man Quentin Tarantino who personally programmed every single show and filled it up with all sorts of crazy siht and themed nights from his personal collection and more. Details should be released next week but it sounds sweeeeeet

isnt that movie by michel gondry? Gondry and Cunningham has got to be my favorite music video directors. Their creative vision is just like. WHOA WOWIE.

Though I dont agree with IMDB’s top 250 list, I started a project of watching all of them. I started about 1/5 of them Now at about less than half done. I started with Indies and foreign films first cause usually if they are on the list, they are on it for no other reason than being a good film. Not because its popular of big budgeted CG-action spectacular.

I have 2005 IMDB excel spreadsheeted so none of the 2006 movies are on my project yet. Maybe when Im done, I’ll try the updated list.

That sounds like a sweet magical dream.

omfg! i hate you…i wanna see that list as soon as it’s published…i may have to venture north to hollywood…

I friend of mine gave a copy of ?Big Money Hustlas?. Well not so much gave as more in he said ?I?m getting rid of some my old movies I don?t want no more and here? then he hopped in the car and sped off before I could see what it even was. God damn I know I used to listen to Insane Clown Posse when I was younger strictly as a gimmick novelty act but I was never much of a fan let alone a Juggalo.

My god this movie is stupid. It?s a send up of old ?Blaxploitation?. The main character Sugar Bear (shaggy 2 dope) is a cop from San Francisco who always talks in Rhyme. He is sent to help the NYPD take down Big Baby Sweet (Violent J) I?ve only watched about half of this thing and I?m not sure if I even wanna a finish it. The Sex scene alone made me want to puke. Picturethe a woman who you would never want to see in her underwear let alone naked. ya that’s what you get. There are a few Cheep laughs here and there but they are few and far between.

Is there any reason to go on? I’m up to the part where Big Baby Sweet kills his whole crew and summons the Magic Ninjas. yes you heard me right magic ninjas :wtf:

Fuck you man :arazz:
