The wackness review:

ill try to explain it in how i understood…

martyrs ending

Spoiler

you can look at it 2 ways…

  1. well, whatever anna told her, i would assume it was really good, it has to be good if it drives you to kill yourself…i also do not think the ā€œwisdomā€ was not that you go to heaven if you kill yourself, because she went there and she didnt kill herself (suicide)…heaven was just some real bomb ass place…

  2. it was chicks (old lady) purpose in life to find out what the afterlife was about, so it doesnt really matter if what anna told her was amazing or bad, she found out and she was content and since she finally accomplished finding out this feet which apparently was her life goal, she would be content with dieing…

the reason she said keep doubting, is because not knowing what happens in the after life makes use who we are, it would change us completely as humans if we knew, like if we knew it was amazing why would we still be chilling here??? if we knew it was horrible, we would act differently, its not in our nature to really know…i dont think it was ever her purpose to let the whole club know what the dealyo was…nawmean mang??? hope that makes sense…

i also dont understand how the wackness is as good as movie as sunshine, but whatever to each his own hahaha…

This decade, I really dont like listing favorite movies/games/books cause I know Ill miss something:

Zoolander
City of God
Dark Knight
LotR Trilogy
Batman Begins
Gladiator
Borat
Pineapple Express
Sin City

kyle’s mom’s voice WHAT WHAT WHAT?!?!

Uh-oh…OZ thought he had that Zoolander shit to himself…

Zoolander is up there with Back to The Future and Terminator 2. As in I can watch this movie over and over again. I can hardly do that with other movies.

That’s pretty much the reason I would put Almost Famous in my list of favorte films from the last 10 years…

Every few years, one of those movies comes out, those movies you watch 100 times and never get sick of. For me the list goes The Princess Bride, The 'burbs, Dazed and Confused, Almost Famous - like every 4-6 years another one comes out…

None are The 'burbs though. There is no movie like The 'burbs…it is the most amazing film ever made. ever. Ok, maybe not, but I know that movie from overwatching it well enough to know every fucking music cue in the score…

Im gonna go check out the movies you guys had on your list. Most of them Ive always been meaning to watch. American Psycho, Requiem, Almost Famous and Im gonna check out Martyrs.

At least on Netflix, Martyrs is available in April. However, I don’t know if that reflects the release date…

 Hell yeah zoolander is my #2 favorite film of all time I’ve seen it a million times and still laugh at the same shit every time, also it’s the only film that’s a satire of it’s own subject matter that takes itself too seriously not realizing it’s a satire…brilliant.

wtf:annoy:

My single favorite movie of all time, and here I thought I was alone in this. And thanks to this thread, I just saw Zoolander again, just as funny as I remembered.

I was too young to appreciate it the first time so on a whim I saw it today and yeah Kubrick’s signature subtlety is all over EWS I respect all opinions equally but it’s hard to imagine anyone not appreciating everything that isn’t said on screen.
There’s no way I could describe what I saw other then a smart look on a man who’s curiosity and insecurity progressively deconstruct his entire world and the way he thinks. IMO this film is more then worthy to join the ranks of kubrick films:rock:

for ending

Spoiler

So was Bill just paranoid about the Amanda and Nick being killed or did it really happen and Victor was just covering it up? or was it supposed to be left up to the viewer? The latter I think was Kubrick’s intention also I have a suspicion Victor was the guy with the human face mask that saw Bill that night.

Another zoolander nod? woah that’s whatsup:tup:

hey have you guys seen vantage point? I happened to catch it last night on starz lols

i enjoyed the movie very much the car chase scene was pretty epic well to me at least what did you guys think?

ā€œHey homie, is that my briefcase?ā€

Hate or love him, Michael Mann is the king of movie gunfire.

I don’t hate Mann, I’m just not a big fan of his movies…I’ve never understood people’s love of Heat…I did like The Insider, however.

Mann is renowned for his ability to set a moody and tense atmosphere, most people would tell you heat exemplifies this best it’s one of the quintessential crime films imo.

I need to see collateral again I don’t recall it vividly, anyways random question: at which point will you stop buying movies you already have? my friend has over 500 dvds and he owns some of them on blu ray, and I’m sure there are millions of other people who have bd’s of dvd’s they already have. I don’t care what comes next I’m not ever going to buy a film I already have on bd lol.

BAHAHAHAHAHA…that shit was classic…
