trailer for new gus van sant movie

looks pretty good, but i hate the huge WRITTEN BY whoeever at the end and i hate when they throw in “director of (previous successful movie from the director that was 15 years ago)”

just let the movie stand on its own and why do you need your name on its own part in huge letters

the from the director of part makes me think the movie sucks and they’re trying to sell it to you

just let the movies stand on their own and stop attention whoring

yeah Milk looks good

anyone else think that jared leto is an underrated actor???

im outi

Roberth

not me…he’s never really done anything that made me take notice of him…

Variety.com just posted a review of the new Arronofsky movie, THE WRESTLER with Mickey Rourke playing a washed up pro-wrestler. This was the best script I read last year and I have had high hopes for it. Looks like he delivers

ok, i have to ask, is it your job that gets you access to scripts?

forgot if this was posted yet: choke red band trailer. Trailer isn’t that great…movie is really funny

I have been trying…TRYING to watch The Assassination of Jesse James lol but I keep closing VLC

I think this time I’ll try to watch it but only because I have good food to eat and good herb to smoke

Just got back from JCVD, it was way better than I expected… everyone should try and see it.

Zack and Miri Banned Poster

the red band trailer was okay. i’m probly gonna go see it but honestly i’m gettin tired of Seth Rogen playin himself in every movie.

i’ll see it for the jason mewes/katie morgan sex scene alone…

Bad movie alert: I just saw the trailer for Hobgoblins 2 on youtube. Seriously…anyone else seen it?

Go see Martyrs son…wednesday @ midnight

Yea I’m probably going to go despite having to work at 5 the next morning… might go see The Wrestler this sunday also.

yes…wrestler will be god tier. will probably be a hard ticket to get (dunno how it works with locals) due to the industry buzz and it still being an available film

well i did the rush line for JCVD and that was ok, might have to try that if it ends up being sold out

hoping mickey rourke will be there

you should check out XXY if you ever get the chance to see it, its an excellent argentinian film and the title should explain everything

Two films to talk about that falls show of awesomeness:

Hamlet 2

Funny film if it wasn’t for the comedy snob/oddball of my friend weened on the teet of Christopher Guest movies. It’s not the most hilarious film, but who am I to fucking think that since I’ve voiced my opinion that I laughed more in Get Smart than Tropic Thunder. However with Catherine Keener, it really made me think of this film as being the secret evil bastard sequel mirrorverse version of 40-Year Old Virgin.

The humour you really have to bear through a few things to get some of it. There are some dated references, so oh so expected plot twists and plot points but it’s like one of those stories that is just like every other story that you hear about your friend being drunk; but there’s just a small little twist that makes it above average but NOT great.

Since it is from the co-writer of South Park the movie and Team America, it’s basically a wonderful cumilation of their musical acts in live action. Rock Me Sexy Jesus is catchy of course,

for another musical number

Spoiler

Rape me in the Face is totally reminscent of Everyone has AIDS from Team America

And while it does try it’s best to offend, it’s more fun that parody. I’d say it’s a great film to see at theatres just because it makes the musical numbers better and seem more live, but a solid renter if you run out of options.

SukiYaki Western Django

This film is basically the ultimate experiment in theoretical filmmaking. Japanese actors phonetically reading english lines sound awesome, cowboys in a Japanese setting sounds fucking awesome, Tarintino being directed by Takeshi Miike sounds awesome (depending on how much you like the former or the latter) but it’s really a film that fall short of being 100% grade A awesome.

If there was anything to watch this film for, it’s the aesthetics and secondly it’s wackiness. It’s probably the most solid portrayal of a real life anime which seemed totally unintentional but resulted in some pretty awesome fucking scenes. Basically said, this film gives a bit of hope in a Cowboy Bebop film being totally possible at least visually and there is one scene which is totally lifted out of a particularly memorable Bebop moment.

Half of it’s charm and detriment is the fact that the phonetically spoken English basically makes a dub sound authentically Japanese in terms of rhythm of speaking. It translates well but had the dialogue been spoken by an English Speaker, it would be the cheesiest shit you’d ever see. A semi-great film to see if only once but by no means the most excellent film that it could theoretically could have been.

I somehow got suckered into watching Bangkok Terrible today. One of the worst films I’ve ever seen.
