i’m looking for the name of a Japanese movie. It’s like the japan version of the running man. where there’s like 9 or 10 ppl, and they have to kill eachother to get out of the building. Or something to that effect. any help would be great, thanks.
even if he doesn’t have a huge range, his work in the 70’s is epic - easy rider, chinatown, five easy pieces, cuckoo’s nest…
i guess the problem is
jack was in a cartoon with tim burton and told jokes and did different things
burton you never had a feeling it was a real place and it was scary
heath ledger’s joker was just hatred, and it was in chicago. nolan’s “gotham city” looks like a nice place to live compared to burtons
i guess i liked the sillier batman better, not the dark frank miller inspired batman so i would tend to like nicholsons portrayal better. plus i like the batman world created by burton vs nolan.

which comes back to what i said before, people’s choice in jack over heath is more in their idea of what joker should be over the actual heart of each performance…heath fucking owned that role…based purely on acting ability, heath was easily the stronger performer. though, he also had a more gritty script to develop the character around, but the simple fact that you never saw heath on camera proves to me how amazing his performance was…
oh well at least it was better than SHUTTER

it was pretty weird to see that guy who is with hiro from heroes talk in perfect english instead of the broken one on the show
btw, have you watched mad men yet? we seem to be pretty close in television appreciation, and i definately recommend that show…
i bought the blu ray but haven’t watched it yet ut def want to. Was planning to this weekend but instead watched one flew over cuckoo’s nest (good movie as always, but blu ray isn’t much of an improvement over the 2 disk version i have - special book its contained in is nice though), shutter (crap), unbreakable (finally on blu, looks really nice) and finished up californication.
maybe i’ll watch most of it tonight/tomorrow, because next 2 weeks there’s a lot of crappy horror coming to blu ray i want to watch and never seen. i know what you did last summer/still know/urban legend/mortuary/lost boys sequel/salvage/venegeance
plus all the tom clancy movies + doomsday + dark city
so gonna get a huge backlog going i think

i only watched like 3 eps last night cuz amc was running a marathon, but the ones i saw were very well written. like, “first season west wing” well written.
i don’t think i’ll ever understand you and pg’s love of campy horror…or the movie unbreakable…i really disliked that film…

i thought that no one could out TOP or EQUAL ledger’s joker performance, so it would be weird to cast joker for the 3rd movie again BUT, i read this thing in the TDK thread and i forgot about this man, but daniel day lewis, ya, now that shit would be epic lewis vs ledger, i think lewis could do something special with that shit too definately…mofo almost looks like a joker to beghin wtih with his long slender face…i definately think he could equal that performance or dare i saw…MAYBE top it!!! i dont know…

ok, so i finished mad men season one - AMAZING! they have all of season one on amc on-demand right now, so me and the misses have been watching non-stop the last few days. ia lso got through the first few eps of californication last night b4 i fell asleep. duchovny is my idol in that - a writer and sexual deviant. he is who i wanna be when i grow up, minus writing for a blog…but overall, i love the show. my girl almost died when he was banging that scientology chick and puked all over the painting. good stuff.

you know what the ruins was suprisingly good imo…the best thing about it imo was everyones performance was really good like wtf good…i was like wow…i was impressed with their acting…

they just kliled the people and didn’t explore anything about the characters. just a can you survive this, okay how about this etc etc instead of examining what going through this is doing to the people
btw al, weeds is getting pretty good now. the secondary characters like andy/doug/celia are really carrying it with the subplots
too bad they basically kicked dean and his daughter off of the show, i liked them
yeah, i saw they were listed as off the show on imdb. so, in spite of the locale change, there is still side story going on in the agrestic area?
a little. couple of them are in a hotel since the town is destroyed, but they basically dumped most of the majestic/agrestic people and brought a couple to where they are now
but conrad/hayley/other chick are gone, one of the PTA girls shows up with celia but for the most part all the minor chars are gone
