man Wanted has 100% at rotten tomatoes
only 7 reviews, but some good places like Variety and LA weekly are there

What the heck is that movie about anyway? The trailers don’t tell you anything.
something about they’re super assassins, kids father gets killed and they teach him how to use his hidden powers and i guess they want him to join their group
so morgan freeman and jolie want to train him to use his abilities and i guess he learns a life lesson and then there’s a big climax
I’ve read the comic, to me it just seemed like something Frank Miller would write if he was given the duty of reimagining Watchmen.
It was an alright story. I suppose I can see the movie working well as a blockbuster.
yeah i was surprised when I opened up variety this morning and read the Wanted review. I guess Timor came through
i did like night watch by the director
i guess it shows how much a trailer can influence you
wanted has like 12 trailers out there and they all look stupid
i just saw so i married an axe murderer on blu ray
underrated flick IMO, pq was alright for hi def, no special features is lame especially when its called special edition
No “Intolerance” on the AFI Top 10 epic huh?
Metropolis ! Metropolis! Metropolis! (original running time is 205 minutes I would kill my first born to see that)
Seconds (1966)
Things to Come (1966)
About to watch Nausicaa for the first time tonight.
It’s too bad that some of the scenes in Metropolis have become lost due to improper film storing methods. That movie really is visually amazing, especially for the time it was made.
I really like this movie. In fact, this movie and mononoke have a different tone from all the rest of this movies and to me those are my two favorites. Very thematically similar to Mononoke as well. I think overall Mononoke is a little more solid, but Nausicaa is pretty awesome considering it is one of his firsts.
Citizen Kane is like Watchmen: not only is it an excellent piece of storytelling, but it is a lean demonstration of what its own medium is capable of that others are not. It is one of the all-time quintessential movies.
I suppose Lost In Translation does much the same, though it focuses less on story and more on tone.
finished californication season 1…great show. Showtime is really picking up the slack from hbo who cancel all of their good shows (deadwood, carnivale) to put on shit like in treatment.
also Udo Kier = top tier
…I want to make a screen print of that, word.
I’m starting to think HBO doesn’t even plan for this after the JfC fiasco.
I also finished Californication and it was good.
Has Gabriel Byrne been in anything good not counting Excalibur, Miller’s Crossing, The Usual Suspects, and Spider?
In Bruges comes out on dvd on tuesday…probably the best movie of the year so far…rent it/netflix it no doubt
I saw Narc again. It would be one of my favorite movies of the decade if it weren’t for a couple of unwatchably awful scenes. Great acting from Ray Liotta.
lol@the eye
i wish i found alba hot so i could at least justify wasting 90 minutes on this movie
so bad
i just watched gone baby gone too on blu, why was this movie not nominated for best picture? that and ass of jesse james were better than half the movies nominated, but both got ignored
i think i may agree about in bruges, actually, in bruges and the fall are probably the best movies i seen this year…this year has been disappointing so far imo…i cannot think of any movies i seen besides these 2 that i would REALLY recommend to anyone as being actually really good…and there are few movies coming out that i am excited about the rest of the year…hopefully some sleepers come out or something…
im outi
Roberth
yea this year has sucked for movies in theaters
at this rate cabin fever 2 will win movie of the year
the other good movies from this year I would say are The Bank Job and Bigger, Stronger, Faster.
I watched America Psycho 2. I thought it tried. The script had its moments but the pacing was really off. It was also very hard to swallow that Mila Kunis could kill Patrick Bateman, or that Bateman would be doing his thing in front of a little girl. Also there is zero nudity and they don’t show a single kill shot. Ok so the movie sucked.
