I got wrote up at work today because I described the shit the captain was doing. He said I was talking crap, but if you do something, and I tell the truth about what u just did, it’s NOT talking crap.
So he got in his feelings and called upper management, and as expected they took his side. Supposed to sign the paper tonight, but I plan to dispute it (will probably still lose but I’ll try anyway)
However, I can use this as a positive, I think it takes 2 write ups for the company to fire you. So, while I won’t intentionally go out of my way to lose my job, IF it should happen, I’ll enroll in Tanker school while I draw unemployment until I graduate (which only takes a week)
Then I’ll take that certificate, get on with another marine company, get my neccessary transfers and be making around $300
The other scenario is: I stay, wait on my current company to put me thru their tanker program, as I heard write ups don’t necessarily disqualify you, then move up from there. In both scenarios tho, I’m gonna need money, so I’m about to tighten my budget and get some “Fuck you” money saved so I can make the neccessary moves

So yea, captain LIED about going to management to write me up. I talked to the lady over us, she has no idea about any write ups or that there was even a dispute.
Captain made it seem like management was on his side, she also said write ups have NOTHING to do with getting the office involved, it’s totally up to the captain
Also, from talking to various other captains, you can’t write someone up for hurting your feelings, especially when that person didn’t curse you, raise his voice or refuse to comply with others. That have to actually break some company guidelines or be incompetent at their job, which I’m not
If he pursues this, I’m taking him to the woodshed with the messages I have saved from management. Which proves he’s a liar pulling underhanded methods
