but if indie rock contains indie pop and you didnt want to differentiate between the two, wouldnt you just call it indie?
this turned into a genre war, sick!

Any Mogwai fans out there?
Probably one of my favourite bands since I found out about them about 10 years ago. “Young Team” is tremendous.
Saw them play at the same event I saw Interpol at (posted about it earlier in the thread). They were so loud the ground vibrated.
I have Young Team on my iTunes but have yet to listen to it.
Listened to a random Minus the Bear track on YouTube and liked it enough to download a few of their albums. We’ll see how I like those.
Has anyone here heard of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart? I discovered them through the Onion A.V. Club and they’re in pretty heavy rotation for me right now. They remind me a lot of the Field Mice, so much so that I was surprised to find out that POBPAH is from NYC.

Young Team is a fantastic album, though I think my favorite is Happy Songs for Happy People.
Russian circles is another great post rock band.
Mogwai has a gnarly live set.
Portugal. The Man is killing my conscious mind. Love it.
if you like andrew bird, also try ra ra riot.

Does anyone like Dosh?
i was always worried about seeing a band like mogwai live; i usually prefer going to rowdy shows.
i think my favorite album by them is Mr. Beast, but they haven’t really put out anything bad
if you like mogwai, check out This Will Destroy You or Explosions in the Sky. post rock is a great genre to zone to
I would probably fall asleep at a Mogwai show, judging by one of the albums I listened to a few years back.
Your musical compatibility with VanaoTX is Very High
Your musical compatibility with NappyJin is Medium
Your musical compatibility with Quivistar is Very High
Made a new account recently because I hated my old username on Last.fm. Which begs the question, is there a way to retroactively scrobble tracks from an old account or from iTunes play counts?
My shit right now is the new Liars track, “Scissors.”
That Animal Collective EP is awesome too, but everyone already knows that.
Oh, and on a (way) different note, Diplo’s Gucci Mane remix is kinda the shit!

Wait, what’s ‘indie’ again? haha.
Explosions in the Sky is pretty good. Saw them in Houston several years ago with a few friends, but ended up being more impressed by a band that opened for them - The Octopus Project. Which reminds me, I need to look up music for that band…
Your Top Tracks has 4 Shins songs and “Two-Headed Boy” by Neutral Milk Hotel. I approve!
Also, “Reset Play Count” works in iTunes for setting songs you’re not happy with back to 0 plays. I’ve done it before to make my Top 25 (in iTunes) particular ways that I like it to be.
This thread prompted me to (finally) start a page on last.fm, but I obviously haven’t done much with it yet: http://www.last.fm/user/StarburyFields
Technicolor Health by the Harlem Shakes is catchy.

Also stumbled on Titus Andronicus - *Airing of Grievances *. It’s sort of lo-fi punk. I’m diggin’ it so far, good album.
Voxtrot - The start of something

Been playing that song a lot recently.
has band of horses, fleet foxes, or my morning jacket been mentioned yet?
because if not, they should’ve been
I like the first two. I’ll have to give My Morning Jacket a shot.
Been listening to some more lo-fi stuff lately, Bon Iver and Iron & Wine are great.
