Also, to people who didn’t notice, the music is being made by Daisuke Ishiwatari. The metal soundtrack is 99.9% likely to be in this game as well.
The tech game sounds like the most interesting thing I’ve heard in a very long time. Hopefully this type of innovation won’t result in horrendous glitches due to it not being in a 2D environment before. Character balance isn’t something I’m worried about, due to the developer and the game engine. If it plays like GG, only “better”, then I’m 100% up on this shit.
The music is GG is one the GREATEST things about the game. Multiple members have their favorite soundtracks, have downloaded OSTs, and are always interested in the next GG OST.
Just listen to GGX heavy rock tracks. They are GOD LIKE. No fighting game has music anywhere as good as GG.
The fact the Daisuke Ishiwatari is doing the music in BlazeBlue at least let’s me know the music will be good.
Some of us are not rock fans sir. Therefor a rock heavy soundtrack does not constitute being a “good” thing. I usually just pick Robo Ky’s “music” in Accent Core…seriously. lol
I mean, granted, we’re all going to have our different tastes in music. But going forth to complain about a game that’s basically going to be at least 70% like Guilty Gear, right down to its soundtrack, is silly in my mind. To me, you might as well start suggesting that the likes of Arcana Heart start putting in more manly guys like Kenshiro and Dragon Ball Z games need to stop being so oriented on “flashy” things like super projectiles and etc. What point is there to more or less ask for a fundamental change from what the developers have in mind, just to do more to suit your purposes? You either have to wheel and deal, or otherwise, you gots to move on.
Any way, another translator from NeoGAF had this to add.
So, according to him…it’s not even 100% confirmed that this game is on the TX, and the backgrounds may be the only thing that’s HD (in which case, the sprite models may not be all that fundamentally different from GGXX’s).
Alright then…still, the overall story seems to be that this game may not be as true a “HD” game as some may have originally anticipated. It’ll be interesting to see how this turns out.
I know what you are trying to say, but since the Type X2 only outputs at High definition resolutions, the game is a true HD game in the traditional sense of the definition.
So, do you play fighters for comp or the music? When you’re in the zone you don’t even hear the music, all you hear is the hits connecting. But then again, 3S is your game, so turtling a lot let’s you guys hear the music a lot more.
Anyway, I’m intrigued to find out more about the knockdowns in this game and how certain actions prevent you from getting combo’ed due to oki.
Four buttons doesn’t sound too bad. Remember, GG was four buttons at first when it came out in the 90s.
…How can that be, when we have the likes of KOF: MI Regulation A and Samurai Spirits SEN, and they’re basically games that are basically “progressive scan”, at best?
This thread will spin out of control in not too long with the inevitable lack of new information. Lets just hope some gamplay footage will appear soon. Hopefully this game will contain some nice gameplay variety with the characters, what we have come to love about GuiltyGear.
Because high definition is defined by the output resolution of the game, and if its running on the Type X2 (even in the case of MIRA and Sen), the game will support output resolutions of up to at least 720p.
i’m not a fan of gg but i need something new. this game looks good so far. i’ll watch this thread!
i agree. they should use a mix of classic jazz and orchestral hip-hop. this rock stuff doesn’t fit gg at all! my personal favorite characters are miles “axl low” davis and sol “jay” badguy-z.
I understand what you are saying completely though. KOFMIRA was a real disappointment on the part of SNK Playmore. They have a platform that is essentially a “next gen” hardware, and instead of taking advantage of the tools they had, they turned around and created a game that was just slightly above PS2 level (and only because of the output resolutions supported).
I think the confusion here was simply about what constitutes high defintion.
I can see where some of you guys are coming from, I do think there needs to be a traditional 2D game that is Hip Hop influenced. That’s another discussion entirely.
Also I don’t like the character designs much, they seem rather bland and generic. Hopefully there will be a moody/depressed/fucked up character I can use. Someone akin to A.B.A or that Oichi chick in Sengoku BASARA X.
