The SRK Blazblue General Discussion Thread

Mmm ive been watching the litchi and taos match, and ive watched a lot of times taos “almost becoming two” super…and I dont think it can be comboed like you can combo Genei jin or Duolons LDM (still worth research though) unless the start-up hits somehow like ABAs goku moroha mode (I hope this D.Drive isnt as useless as abas goku moroha…)

Maybe koogy could tell me/us more about that super. So unless Tao has a move that leaves them in a long hit stun (not very likely) or ASW decides to reduce the start-up time (please do it) The only use I see for this d.drive is to mix up (Like Yangs SA3)…which is not altogheter bad

Ky and Dizzy players are the only character players who will consistently spam projectiles (to any noteworthy extent), and even then they rush at reasonable intervals.
And FAB, Satoshi and CPO are the only high-level Pots I can list off the top of my head and they rush regularly and none of them ever, ever turtle around and wait for openings for any longer than the average character, unless they themselves are being solidly rushed down.

But yes, it is a technical possibility to turtle in GG, it’s just a very poor frame of strategy to build your game around.

And anywho, I don’t wanna turn into one of those guys who won’t shut up about GG in the Blazblue thread, so just PM me if you wanna continue the convo, I don’t wanna spam anymore.

I’ve been asking this question for awhile, but does anyone have an explaination of the mechanics in Blaze Blue. I try to see if I can figure it out from the vids, but I don’t think the gameplay I’m wathcing is all that high level. May take awhile to see that anyway. Does anyone know the mechanics, or can direct me to a website which explains them?

The official website.

Just wanted to give you a heads up, Chinatown Fair, Family Fun Arcade, University Pinball, Tokyo Game Action, Planet Zero, and Nexus have all been contacted and all signed up. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Is that the entire list of just an updated one…in which case an entire list if possible, would be great.

We love you.

Nexus gaming arcade in Boynton Florida?

Fucking AWESOME

Okay, forget my two arcades. They are now “funcades”, only racing and shooting and stuff, not a single joystick wielding cab to be seen. Oh wait, yes, Virtua Tennis cabs at two locations. I also made a stealth photo with my cam to show off the awesome conditions the machines were in at one place:

Balltop? Battop? On a Konami multiple games machine. Naw, just stubble screw top. Another machine had one of the regular buttons exchanged for a huge, rectangular start button. I guess they had one left over.

They other place at least had all machines in proper working order, but that one place was a mess. Oh, and ?1 per game.

So yeah, no, no freakin way they’d take a kit of Blaz Blue, they even lack the single proper needed cab!

Damn, so Arcade Infinity still hasn’t answered their phone calls, I want a good driving distance to play BB all the time. I hope they get it the first week.

How about Super Arcade, they got T6 and SF4 during the first week.

What test location was those vids taken from?

sweet cf!!!

We’ll rape you in this too.

Scwub.

Okay, Ark Sys website explains a little of what this is about.

I assume a barrier burst is akin to a burst attack in GG. But when are you able to do a barrier burst? It looks like they now have a gauge for faultless defense instead of using the may gauge.

also the design of the heat guage appears to look like SF4 4 level pellet guage, with really small bars, but you have 4 of them. and drive attacks? Are they like dust attacks?

they’re more like “stands” from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, if anything. look at the movelists, it shows what new attacks you get if you go into “drive” mode.

Nope, rtl, that’s not it.

Basically, D is simply a normal attack button… but it’s the “gimmick” attack button. Each character has a certain core skill around which he revolves and the D button is the one with which you execute them.

Jin’s freezing moves are mostly D attacks, Taokaka’s Claw dives, Litchi’s staff, Carl’s automaton, etc

It’s just a clever way to have a button for attacks that are neither kick nor punch… or even not regular attacks.

Yeah it looks like it has the same mechanics as Guilty Gear, except Burst and Flawless Defense now have their own meter. Instead of FD consuming special meter and Burst being a different thing entirely

It sounds like burst works differently too(can only be used on block, which makes sense considering how the barrier gauge refills)

Wondering if it still has RC and FRC and if the timings are just as strict.

I hope it plays a little easier than Guilty Gear personally. As much as I liked the game I could never really find the motivation to put in the time it takes to get good at it.

and I may have to ride down to CTF sometime to play this and SF4 when I get the cash.

has RC, no FRC.

but thats why many of us love gg, because it has a complex curve of knowledge making it more fun than othe sissy games in the market.

still bb its supossed to be a more newb friendly compared to gg so dont worry

Someone get the contact info for Super Arcade (the phone number isn’t really helpful), but does anyone have contact info for the owner? Please post it.
