Actually…AkSys were the ones who spear-headed the localization effort.

So, to be more specific…it would probably have to be a thing that ASW and AkSys would collaborate again on such a thing. Seeing how they’re still actively working together (AkSys will be bringing that utterly bad-ass Dodge Ball DS game over here in a few months), I would think this would mean that the two are probably interested in doing business together for the long haul.

I already have my people selected. Ranga and Noel. I’m just waiting for the moveslists/combos to come out. I really want Ranga to be a offensive monster with demonic rushdown/mixup. And I hope Noel is a mid/long range fighter. C’mon ASW with the movelists!

I really hope I’m not bitching, but I just feel the characters look a bit lax so far.
I have already acknowledged the fact the Blazeblue isn’t Guilty Gear, and is under the helm of a totally different guy.
In my personal opinion I feel those characters aren’t drastically unique or anything, and haven’t got many atributes that I care for.

Meh. Whatever. The from the little I’ve seen, the game looks good.

PS. When I see a character I like (which hopefully is an eventuality), then I’ll be more aroused.

To me, it would be more of a matter of marketing it correctly.

ASW, largely, missed the boat with Guilty Gear X back in the day. But I can’t blame 'me but too much, because they were still under Sammy’s thumb, and Sammy obviously didn’t think enough of trying to make the series a success to really give it a foot in the door.

Now, with BlazBlue, they have a chance to start “fresh”. It’s a new game, that seemingly discards a lot of the things that made Guilty Gear so utterly daunting (like taking it back to 4 buttons, for one), so that should ideally make it more appealing for newbies. And, as loathe as I am to say it, the much more “standard” anime-esque designs probably will appeal to more people too. I can’t tell you how many people were turned off to GG, just because they thought the character designs were too “WTF” for their own good.

So, it’s my hopes that BB can succeed where GG “failed”, and maybe do more to capture a nice crowd in the States too.

Of course, again…I could only imagine such a thing happening IF the game is on the PS2/Wii. I can’t think of too many American PS3 owners who would bat an eye at a 2D sprite based game for that system, nor imagine that people would be willing to buy the system just for that game…

Granted, but to Nippon Ichi’s credit, they probably stand to have a larger crowd to cater to, than the smaller one that a 2D fighting game (especially a NEW 2D fighting game, no less!) stands to get. Disgaea is a brand-name that is pretty well known, so I’m willing to bet that it got more play and attention just because it was another installment in the series that people already know they like.

Basically, if this was a new Guilty Gear game of this sort, I could see ASW taking the chance. But I don’t think the same could be said for a new and untested IP, who’s only real claim to fame is that it’s from the same guys who brought you GG, HnK and (soon), SBX. If that much were true, then maybe more people would have been willing to give BF a decent chance BEFORE being turned off by it later on.

So, my personal belief is that I just don’t see a PS3/360 release in this game’s future. Not when a new franchise could basically use all of the positive and widespread attention it could get, and it would only stand to get that by being released on the console(s) that most people would stand to have (Wii/PS2).

Yes. Very very true. Everyone has a ps2 in japan and on the globe. the wii is on verge to becoming a monopoly(look at all the top 20 best selling games over in japan for the last few months. 17 belong to nintendo). The 360 doesn’t sell well over there. Ps3 only has 1.3 million units sold in japan.
