Yes! She HAS to keep her double sided neutral jump HK. Whenever I play against Necalli or Bison and they do a charge move that carries them across the screen and I neutral jump the move I keep missing the punish and they land behind me because I’m so used to Juri’s double sided neutral jump HK.
If you are not using U1 you shouldn’t be playing Juri, you are totally wrong FSE works on high level as well you just have to condition your oponents, the very big mistake low level Juris does is to look for the overhead once they are in FSE, what you have to do is to be unpredictable and mix your stuffs instead you can grab, frame trap, go low and get hard knockdown then a set up, and once you have condition your opponent you can try an overhead for a reset, remember overhead is not the only way to reset your damage scalling you can also use cross under, fuzzy guard or even use an american reset the limit is your imagination and your skills of course.
In the other hand her U2 is one of the worst in the game if not the worst, if you want to land it you must spend resourses in almost any situation, its very risky, low rewarded and highly character specific. Kaisen dankairaku is very easy to whiff and extremly easy to punish it, if you whiff it you will eat a full combo or raw Ultra and bye to 40-60% of your health but hey at least you get another Ultra if you still alive
Lol how the fuck is Kaisen character specific? The only situation in which U2 is risky is if you use it as an anti-air which it isnt meant to do in the first place.
The problem with conditioning an opponent for FSE, is that all setups and attack strings assume that the opponent will have the exact same mental process that you want them to. Sometimes they do, and it’s alright. Sometimes they dont, and you eat mad damage. More importantly, FSE pretty much is only used on knockdown, which can be a huge disadvantage if you’re fighting against a character that has really good wakeups options. Wait too long, there is no pressure. Go in too hard like an idiot against the wrong guy, get bodied.
If you whiff Kaisen you need to hit the lab and get good. I stayed in training mode for 2 whole days a few years ago practicing EX Divekick>U2 timing to a point that I could hit it with my eyes close based on sound cues. The same goes for:
any far reaching normalxxFuhajinxxFADC>U2
fuhajin raise into U2 in the corner
j.mp(1 or 2 reps) juggle into U2
j.mpxxdivekick>U2
Also FSE can put the ball in the opponents court sometimes. You activate FSE, and everybody knows you only have about 15 seconds to use it. That puts you into a very predictable state because you HAVE to go in. They know that you are going to be rushing, and they will do everything possible to counter that single aspect of your game until your ultra is gone.
Really though lol “worst ultra in the game”. That shit hits like a Mack truck. If anything, FSE is by and far way more character specific than U2. Hitboxes on moves change, some things miss on people who are crouching. Some things miss on certain characters altogether. Some things will only hit once instead of twice. Some characters don’t have the right hurtbox to allow certain follow ups. You have to be an encyclopedia on characters specific set ups to be effective with FSE.
I did spend time training kaisen and master it but I concluded its fairly useless is very character specific since you need to hit comfirm it and spend at least 2 bars making it extremly expensive and the damage isnt good since it gets scaling hard in almost any situation, dive kick> U2 doesnt work in all the characters at least not in safe range, every shikusen is negative on block, ex-shikusen is +3 but only if you hit very low so is not worth in my opinion, the only reliabable way to use U2 is with hit comfirm j.mp juggle into U2 or raw ultra but landing a raw ultra is almost a dream since its start up is very slow and the hit box is very bad.
As I said before if you are not using FSE you are playing a wrong character imo, to use FSE correctly you must know what options your oponent’s character have and what are his habits, you dont need to have the same mental process at all. In my opinon there are a lot of weak Juris out there because they dont master FSE, Juri is vey weak over all B tier in my opinion, she dont have a good roundhouse or fierce, she gets nothing from counter hits, bad back dash, risky reversal, no gimmicks, no instant super etc… but in FSE she is S+ tier class.
Choice of Juri’s ultra honestly can depend on the matchup. Myself personally, I would never pick U1 against say, gief or t.hawk, because the last thing I’d want to do is go in on them. U2, however, would let me get a good chunk of quick damage and wouldn’t require me to stay in.
I haven’t used U1 since I never learned how to set it up, but I was very good comboing into U2 and playing the footsies with her and since Ultra she had a realy realy good one with far.mp beeing cancleabel.
My pressure was mainly stored fireballs and TK Divekicks.
I just hope she gets a new CA in SFV or they make her U2 shorter.
I think they will eventually add a patch that adds a second ultra ( cause i hate how critical art sounds ) , and Juri will rock both FSE and Kaisen most likely.
But tbh i hope she gets something new for a change, i mean why not ? We all love Juri here but she needs to evolve as well.
They might change some things.
I could imagine her as balance between Cammy and Chun-Li.
Footsies based and able to rush down and keep away, she would fit perfect into this spot.
The thing would be, how they would balance her.
I can either imagine low damage or low hp, because I think she will have good walkspeed and good normals this time.
I’d like to see Juri’s Super from Omega Mode come hack. Where she kinda strokes the face of her opponent and then lets out a barrage of Fuhajins. That was pretty cool.

And also this is what I would like for her as CA:

I agree. Especially the part where Bison starts kicking them in the face.

I doubt that will be her Critical Art. It’s too similar to Cammy’s. Looks cool tho…
Let’s settle this the correct way. You got Ultra on 360? I’ve been away from SF4 for a long time but I want to run a few Juri mirror matches with you. Obviously I run Kaisen and you do FSE. If you have good setups I might swap to another character or two to see if I can blow up your FSE blockstrings.
EDIT: @Garu
EDIT2: Also drop the condescending shit about playing the character wrong. I’m not sitting here popping off on YOU am I?
