The Spider's Lair - Juri

'cuase Juri’s v-reversal is ass… well all v-reversals are more or less

Juri’s is probably the worst tho.

Alex Chun and Ryu are worst imho

Edit: no wait, Menat takes the crown of worst VR

Juri’s is pretty good NGL, it’s long on-hit animation time let’s it bypass things like Ed V-Trigger for free

Not exactly the “buffs” that make me jump up in joy…

Thinking of getting a new PC. Not gonna play FPS’s, not planning on overclocking. Just want to play fighting games (on high) and old arcade games.

^Anybody knows if that is good enough? @“Fatal Error XI” ? Saw it on sale. Eventually I’d like to get a GTX 960 which is SFV’s recommended video card. But how will I know that card will fit in there? I have heard about different video card sizes.

Please build your own if you’re going to, or pay someone to do it and just buy parts. It’s about the same price and you get better parts.

@AriesWarlock

Don’t go for the 960. I would not bother with the old series of GPU’s because the 1000 series are quite affordable at the moment. Get yourself a sweet 1050ti or a 1060 and you are good to go for most modern games when it comes to GPU, or squeeze some money and get the 1070.

I would recommend you build your own configuration, you end up spending less or the same for a better product.

@ me anytime if you need any information,i’m glad to help.

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind.

I have thought building one (seems like a pain), but I have been reading comments on http://slickdeals.net/ and due to mining individual parts have risen on price it’s almost not worth it if you can find such a deal on an i7 and 16 gb of ram. But if you have a similar configuration I am open to suggestions @Skort

^this.
Also, go for e-stores whit a good warranty policy, parts on those stores arent as cheap as others but it’s worth every extra penny

@AriesWarlock

Few questions if possible :

1 - Are you prepared to go for AMD parts as well ?
2 - How much do you want to spend ?
3 - What resolution do you plan on using when playing ?
4 - What games would you want to play on high to very high settings. It’s quite easy to max SF V , not as easy for Witcher 3

I need bit info to try and select some ok parts for you.

PS : it’s not a hassle at all to build one, and once you got all the parts it’s easy and fun to put together.

That PC you linked is a bit of an oddity in that the CPU is great, 16GB RAM is great, but the Video Card is really bad. An i7 matched with a lower end video card is very odd to me. Even if you bought that system and swapped to a mid-range video card, the price of the system would be around $800 - $900.

You would be better off building one yourself, with parts that better match the purpose you desire. Good news is fighting games are not that demanding.

Here is a part list to give you an idea of what you might want to look for. Stuff like the case comes down to personal preferences. I included an Operating System, if you don’t need it, that knocks $90 off the price, which brings the system around $640 after rebates:

These parts are aimed at 1080p resolution. Should run games like SFV and Tekken7 on high-max settings no problem.

  1. Sure, but doesn’t an equivalent nvidia offer more juice?
  2. Hmm $650, about the same price as that PC https://www.costco.com/.product.1194165.html - gotta say, I like the buttons to quickly access the innards
  3. 1080p seems fine for fighting games.
  4. SFV, maybe Soul calibur 5 if it comes to PC which I assume will require similar specs as Tekken 7 PC.

Thanks. Sorry if I don’t reply, gotta get to work now.

So how about that Juri meter drain as her vt2.

I hope it won’t end up becoming Fangs VT1 where people don’t really care about the drain effect and the move is essentially just a cancel.
I’m not sure what to think about it, from the description it seems kinda bad and very situational.

A 2-bar v-trigger I’m guessing?

It looks interesting but we need to see it in action, but I want a new move for her something that let her change her jump arc maybe an air tensenrin or her old shikusen.

I think I know how it works its and AOE skill just like Dhalsim’s but instread of gray life it drains ex meter also it has a suction effect similar to Zangief’s but I don’t think to be that strong, but it only works when Juri is on the ground and its effect is canceled if she throw her oponent.

Hmm, sounds like it could be useful. We’ll have to see it in action, and if they improve her frame data.

Most characters that had a 2/3 bar trigger are getting the opposite for VT2. Like Mika has a 2 bar VT1, so her VT2 is 3 bars. Might be a few cases of characters that have two, 2 bar triggers or two, 3 bar triggers, but I think they generally want to make it so you have the choice between a more powerful, end game trigger that gives you more v reversals and a quick burst 2 bar that lets you switch momentum faster.

Juri’s VT1 going to 2 bars (if it isn’t nerfed and works exactly like it does now) is clearly the biggest buff she’s gotten. Top players like GentlemanThief can already swing a lot of momentum with it as it is and although you can’t do it quite as often or easily as other 3 bar triggers, if you land all confirms and keep the meter together you can eat up most of the opponent’s life bar with it. With it going down to 2 bars it will definitely be one of the strongest 2 bar triggers easily. She will be the only character with a 2 bar trigger that has a fireball whiff cancel VTC which will allow her to pop the trigger in neutral super easily and then take control with the trigger fireballs and new block strings. Like the stuff Akuma does to pop his V Trigger, but with a 2 bar (albeit without the immediate combo potential).

Another nice thing about her VT1 is that it buffs the range of her dash to a point where there’s almost no way to run away from her once she gets it. Being able to get that with a 2 bar trigger that you can land a couple V skills to get faster is going to be huge. Pop trigger after you lost a bit of health and now you have fireballs that force the opponent to stay back and then follow them with dashes that they can’t run away from. The dash buff wasn’t that big of a deal with a 3 bar trigger from a character that has very situational V Gauge building, but as a 2 bar people are going to complain really quick as they already complain about the dashes in this game as is.

VT2 is pretty much a toss up as to what it’s going to be. I imagine if it’s like what the triggers are seeming to be, it’ll end up being her new 3 bar trigger to be the alternative to her now quick burst 2 bar trigger. Which if it’s a 3 bar trigger it’s likely it’ll be pretty powerful. If it’s a 2 bar then it may be a bit weak compared to VT1, but will see with time. Overall her EX moves aren’t good enough to worry about stealing meter and it would just be nice to calm down characters with derpy EXes like Rog, Rashid and Urien.

Regarding Juri’s new trigger. I don’t see myself picking it over hee V1,especially since that gets buffed to be 2 bars.

Losing the ability to cancel any attack into itself and having access to all of her stores just to get a EX meter drain ? Yea…no.

Also FSE beta, I lold.I guess by the time v triggers 3 get added she may actually get her SF4 eye back.

There is stuff to experiment with but on a first sight her VT1 seems superior in every single way.Hopefully the patch notes are not this lackluster.
