It being +1 turns things like cr.mk xx hk.fuha into free get-ins with a LK fuha stocked. Taking her new tools into consideration the fireballs working like USFIV wouldn’t work. I understand the necessity of making the stores strong but making them braindead feels silly. I don’t want more EX dash and EX tackle shenanigans in the game. That would give her a safe low confirm that even when fucked up still keeps your turn, nobody has anything near that strong. Even for it using stores, that’s too good.

Having it 0 on block means you either trade of they have to block if they have no 3f normal, and makes creating + situations a lot easier from midrange cr.mk cancels.

It being 0 so that only characters with 3f normals can challenge is just shafting characters with 4f normals for no real reason, it’s just taking away another defensive option to retaliate.

I can now see where you are coming from though witht he cr.mk scenario, i agree this game absolutely doensn’t need more scenarios for free get in tools.

I honestly would just wish Capcom would remove the ability to cancel the medium and heavy fuha release into a lk fuha release so that as a tool itself the lk fuha will be strong, can even be used as a close range pressure tool without the ability of being abused from something like a cr.mk xx hk fuha xx lk fuha.

I mean, you never use it in a combo, ever, the only times you would do it is from a certain “setup” to get a lk fuha after the hk fuha, or if you fucked up your confirm.
I can absolutely do without the ability to cancel into the lk fuha from her other fuha specials.

Oh well.

Why shouldn’t she have a free in? Half the cast does with the input lag anyway. Fuck, all Mika has to do is hit hk for an in.

As far as getting old normals back, I’ll state again how much I miss fs.mp. cl.mk would be cool to, but unnecessary since lk pinwheel is throw invulnerable now. But fs.mp being cancelable while moving her forward rocked.

I’d also like to see s.hp xx Ryo work in FSE. It’s so dumb that she loses options in VT.

And of course f.mk should link into 4 framers in FSE.

I finally got my brook converter today (a bad ass little gadget btw). Any tips to adjust to stick, specifically her normals? I keep trying usf4 shit because of the familiarity with my stick I guess (cr.mp to AA for example). A night or 2 vs my training buddies is what I need I think.

Also… mp > mk xx whatever is hard as shit on stick when you’ve been on pad since December.

We need to remember that this is SF5 not SF4 so in order for Juri to be competitive she needs to throw back just as much bullshit as she receive from other characters. In other words,I think we need to stop trying to justify or fear some proposed changes for her so much. As painfully as it sounds,sadly fair gameplay does not cut it in this game.

I’d like to see one or two of these:

Damage increase.

Remove the restrictions on her Vtrigger, or leave it as is and make it a 2 bar Vtrigger. Remove the knockdown on Vtrigger fireball.

Make MK release neutral or plus on block, hop over lows and throws. Basically make it Akuma’s F+HP.

LK release 0 on block.

Increase the hitbox on her store or increase the pushback when store is blocked.

No matter how much i look for it i just find people complaining about the character instead of learning lol.

There is nothing more to learn about Juri.

So I just got air SPDed out of overhead… but I’ve been thrown out of it too.

Did it get airborne frames in 2.5 or am I missing something?

Most overheads have throwable, grounded frames. Including the ones where the character visually leaps into the air. Nothing new. Most overheads that leap have grounded and airborne frames.

Don’t really know what she could use without it being to good, but I dropped her, not because I don’t think she’s good, but because I’m not good enough of a player to use her. I still think using all her tools correctly that she’s midtier… but other characters have much easier tools to use to be midtier.

Me personally without putting to much thought into it I would change:

Stores do more damage on hit. From 30 damage to 50.

Stores become +0 on block with more pushback on block.
Stores get slightly more range.
Lk release moves further across the screen. Stays -2 (or v trigger release goes further if the regular one would be to good) I’d also make lk release clash with projectiles… maybe.
Hk release gets a bit more range and a bit more damage (+10 or 20 damage) or becomes -2 on block with no pushback… but not both.
Non charged v skill buffed to crossup 5 frames faster, or be v trigger cancelable.
Nerf charged v skill a bit to not have projectile invulnerability to quickly (a nerf I’d make to most non super projectile invulnerable moves across the cast) if that nerf applied I’d also make it -2 on block with way less pushback, but for that to happen it’s hit would have to be nerfed as well, so maybe that buff wouldn’t go through.
Make mk release -2

That’s most of it. Imho where juri really stands out as needing any help is that she doesn’t have great pokes at neutral. St.mk is her best thing, but the range isn’t great for the speed that the second hit has. That’s why I’d make her lk release go further, to help her out in neutral at footsies range and slightly beyond.

Having said all this, juri still has some great attributes. Mostly that her st.mp,st.mk xx mk release, cr.mp xx circle kick thingy… is really good “meterless” damage, probably amongst the highest in the game from a non jumpin.

Juri just needs a decent way in to make it worth it imo.

To hell with nerfing charged vskill. Some chars can make it a real pain to get that charge, unless you score a knockdown and give up okI for it.

With all the bullshit the top tiers have, why even suggest nerfs to counter buffs?

“Smart” nerfs to rein in buffs are always a good thing to have in mind. It allows for stronger buffs through nerfing certain other aspects of a character, otherwise you have to have a very light touch on the buffs, which could easily turn out meaningless and have a situation where you give slight buffs that are meaningless, or slight buffs that create an overpowered situation.

To avoid that middle ground confusion, buff nerfs can be a good idea.

Too many dead/bad characters winning shit now to buff her. Bonchan wins 3 CPTs in a row even though Nash is dead and he won them all before the 2.1 buffs. The character that everyone in the Gief thread is convinced is low tier just won the last major. If those characters can achieve that much where they are now (despite the crying) then I don’t think Juri needs too much either.

More people getting gud with Juri is more important. Git gud with Juri.

Bonchan could win with Sagat in Ultra, Sagat must have been top 5.

Just pick another main character Juri has way to many flaws, just face it she would never be good.

I sub Cammy but nah man, i can’t do it , i like Juri way too much to give up on her. Even though i had a lot of salt when she was first released in SFV and i was temped to drop her,i just could not do it.

I have hope that she will pay off in the long run,and fuck it even if she remains in the same spot i am gonna continue maining her. I just like the character too much :stuck_out_tongue:

She’s like 2 prominent changes away from being top 10, too many flaws is an overexaggeration

Juri is not bad, I’m the one that sucks, tier list shouldn’t matter until at least diamond probably, before that its just knowing her options, confirms, anti air and match-up knowledge mainly.

it is sad though that I can switch to Mika or Ibuki and win out of pure v-trigger mix-ups, but you can only make it so far without learning how to play neutral and getting in without bar (ex kunais) or gimmicks. Unless you’re Balrog of course…

Yet you actually recognize she needs something, hell you ask for Juri buffs in your signature and title.
As for getting good, we trying to do that, on the other hand you are playing Ibuki.
