Does anyone have or knows about Oki videos? I’ve come to the realization my next step in improving as a player is learning Oki setups instead of relying on eye timed meaties. I’m guessing the only thing we can probably get oki setups off of is MK. Ryodensatsu and maybe forward throw? every other KD option seems to reset to neutral or having no frame advantage, just guessing, I know nothing.
Teach me.

I feel like I’m shilling my own content. I guess that’s technically what I’m doing, though lol.

As i said earlier, Juri forums i need your strenght.

I require some tips vs Kolin,this matchup seems pretty tricky at times.Not sure how to pressure this character safely.Is wakeup parry a real thing ? everytime i try a meaty it pretty much gets beaten. Also,random vskill while trying to footsie is the bane of my existance in this matchup.

How should i approach ?

I play kolin on the side if you ever need some matches

maybe he Just saw that you were going for meaties on wake-up and decided to use parry as a response.

Only EX counter should work on wakeup, normal counter isn’t fast enough for meaties. V-Skill in neutral is a gamble, if you block it you can punish her with medium buttons. Try to have V-Skill loaded to punish Vanity Step and hailstorm.

Having played both characters I feel like Juri has a slight advantage in this matchup. She can mix up her offense pretty well, meaning that every counter is a big risk for Kolin. Not many character in the cast can start big combos from lows like Juri with cr.MK into HK Fuha Release.

This. If you keep getting countered with V-skill you’re pressing too many buttons, I try to only use sHK after I punish v-skill a few times. Her fireball is really minus unless meaty, if they try to use it to add pressure on block use charged v-skill, HK release or EX fuha they all move forward out of the way of the fireball. Only EX parry is 1 frame, all others are 2 frame start up so tighten up those meaties. Most low level Kolin’s can’t deal well with Juri’s fireball and it negates her v-skill at mid range, if they try to jump over just dp.

he more I think of Juri the more I realize that our kit is amazing on paper:
-3f jab, check
-DP, check
-good normals, check
-fast walk speed, check
-anti fireball game, check
-corner carry, check
but then you put it into reality and we end up as the worst char in the game

Idk about being the worse character in the game but i do feel she requires way more efforts than the majority of the cast in order to perform decently, sad part is i don’t know why, her normals seems good, her AA and anti fireball tools like u said are really good yet she feels kinda weak and ā€œdifficultā€ compared to other characters.
Maybe it’s just me being bad but i feel kinda better when i switch to Urien despite not having spent the same amount of time in the lab as juri

Her damage is just low, compare it to cammy’s mp-hp-drill/dp or mika’s mp-hp-hp peach and it makes me sad lol. She’s just too honest. She only gets good pressure in the corner but every character in the cast does that well. She can punish many things that other characters can but they don’t lead to anything really. Ibuki has left-right or overhead low mixups, mika has great oki especially after brimstone imo. In reality if sMP didn’t have massive that much push back on CH and or cMK linked to mk fuha and all of a sudden she gets full combo and carry from confirming one sMP. That’s basically what they did to Ibuki on S2 with sMK, instead of being -2 on block they made it + making it viable for frame traps and it can be confirmed to itself on counter hit or sMP which leads to either MK TC or sMP xx sLkxxdp or sMK TC for corner carry or corner left-right mixup with kunai.

She can use a little buff, but nothing massive, I enjoy knowing that there isn’t many juri’s online.

If I could only choose 1 buff for Juri, it would probably be between more range on charge or + on block fireball.
I hate that you can only do 1 medium normal before charge is out of range.

-good normals, Are you kidding me? most of her problems are her normals
-Fast walk speed, only forward, backwards is slow not usefull for shimmies
-anti fireball game, check
-corner carry, only if you spend 70% vtrigger and 1 bar to deal 390 damage or so

On paper she should be good, but her frame data sucks and properties in her kits sucks.

I personally consider Juri better than Chun Li, Ryu, Fang and arguably Alex at the minimum. I’d even argue Dhalsim as far as I think she just does better vs his tough matchups. Rather use Juri vs Rog or Laura than Sim. I still think Fang is the only actual bad character in the game and he will be a bit more serviceable now with the 2.1 changes. Juri blows up Fang too coincidentally (not that it matters since a lot of characters do).

There is no way Juri is stronger then Ryu or even Chun imo.

I don’t know about Chun Alex or Fang, but I’d definitely put Ryu above Juri.

Juri is bottom of the bottom.

i actualy agree on juri being better than ryu (but i’m a noob so it’s not like i’ve ever played against good ryu), dunno about the othe characters
