The Spider's Lair - Juri

I think I finally figured out what was causing rollbacks for me personally. One of my old forum friends told me to go into task manager, look for the beta running in your task manager and click on set affinity. Apparently if you shut down and re up all your cores it fixes the rollbacking and skipping. I did it just one time and it seems to be working so far. Can regularly connect to 5 bar matches now without much hiccup.

I think she has the tools to fight Gief now that Chun is too fair. It’s good being able to play matchups where you can charge V Skill for free. Her strongest resource is level 2 charge easily.

I think it’s just the beta. I went back to the retail version on steam and it was fine.

I played the beta again last night, and it was much better. They are probably still working out the kinks. Processor affinity would make more sense if the game was putting a heavy load on all cores, but SFV peaks around 30% on my CPU. Processor affinity also helps older games and programs that were not designed for multicore processors.

I’m pretty sure when you set the affinity with Task Manager, you need to do it every time you start a program, unless you run a script.

Yeah it could be a placebo, but its definitely interesting thar it suddenly fixed itself right after I messed with the cores one time. I tried multiple times before to just boot and play online and it was like once in a blue moon that I could get smooth games. Now with the method I tried I’m suddenly having good games online all night and inot the day today.

Only issue I had was the last couple hours it was taking about 10 minutes to find the same person in casual match and only found one person in ranked. Which is weird cuz I’m in Super silver on PC where there should be a large enough base for a free beta. Though most people are at work right now so that probably has something to do with it. Should be able to find games when I get off tonight.

So anyone else their DP’s still getting stuffed?

I think I am because sometimes I’ll go for mp dp and I’ll see counter hit sign come up and get hit. Although I only started playing Juri and the game recently again so I’m not sure if it’s me or the game. Plus I can’t go into training mode to recreate anything because online only

That Juri in the April’s fools game

potential costume !

What I would like to see them add to Juri is her counter move from SF4.
You can use it to get space for charges, allow you to crossup mix. Plus get above. Though Nash players will get angry we got their v-trigger. But who stole it first?

I just want her far standing mp back and maybe an air pinwheel to make her air combos relevant.

Wouldn’t it be unlikely since her v-skill is basically a re-purposed kasatushi/u? I liked the move in SF4, but the recovery time was one of its weak points. I do miss the crossup mix.

I dont miss her kasatuchi, the vskill is by far better tool, even ryodantsatsu is better than her old dive kick but hell the dive kick could be awesome for air combos

Hope that costume happens, she looks pretty dope in it

looks like it’s happening!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

ā€œReppingā€

EDIT: I still think Juri vs Gief isn’t necessarily bad for Juri. So long as you aren’t afraid of Gief like I am.

If you got on stream you did your thing. You repped.

TBH though I would say I was more surprised by how unafraid you seemed to be of Gief. You were like regularly running up to Gief and pressing buttons point blank at him when he was nearing or had V Trigger ready. Like I personally never get that close to Gief with Juri and especially not when he’s sitting on V Trigger or super. Maybe you were so afraid of the mid range that you needed to run in to feel more comfortable, but eventually staying too close to Gief for too long will make you stop being comfortable. Especially if he sits on super.

I’ll have to make sure I know strings to deal with his armor and such after watching the video. You did a lot of 2 hit strings that still got flexed on or got grabbed after. I liked the use of the V Skill charge early on to deter him from whiffing buttons and gave you room to build V Gauge and stores. You just fell apart the closer he got to V Trigger and did a lot of throwing fireballs at him when he still had V Trigger active which got you sucked up. You gotta stay tight and not whiff many things once he’s red.

Yeah boi, love that costume

I’m usually so afraid of Gief that I back myself into a corner out of habit, so I guess my thought process was to do anything but that. I’m assuming that I’ll have to find a way to just stand my ground as opposed to either rushing in or backing into a corner. st.MK definitely helps with that, but I definitely need to rely on other normals.
