Which D&B is this being held at in Houston; Richmond Ave or Katy Fwy?
Richmond.
Hearing about the drama, it’s depressing to know of a ban list and that it’s rather large.
Which is really unfortunate knowing a lot of strong players are not allowing to attend this event, only to preserve a scene that has one of the worse reputations out there for competitive related event (not talking about the Houston scene, <3 it). In the long run, just so they can secure there own personal reasons, this hurts the Texas scene quite heavily.
It’s been several years now, and it still looks like things just haven’t changed.
I hope for the best of the future for the Texas fighting game scene, and hopefully we’ll have a strong major up and running once again. One that does not cater a ban list and bans players for personal reasons. I really wish the people over there didn’t have such huge egos (let’s be real, everyone sucks there), and just learn to enjoy playing games.
To be fair, Jan is the only person banned. This is resulting in several other players refusing to go, however.
Tonight at Monster’s (and Tues at Monster’s, and Thurs at D&B) I will have a SFxT setup with all DLC characters unlocked.
Seems there’s more stuff going on in Houston than I thought.
Hmmmmm… that’s still rather unfortunate. However, I’m hearing that there’s quite a few names on that list. Hearing how things have been over there lately, it’s hard not to believe.

Dave and Busters event is legit, everyone there was so nice, too 
I missed last week’s event because I’m retarded. I’ll make an effort to go there this week.
I don’t know (or care) about the drama, I just want to train up for Showdown and make some new buddies to game with. This is the first fighter I feel I have a solid chance of rising to a real competitive level in – I’m ready to build a good friend base and get some daily practice into my schedule, and online just doesn’t cut it for me. What side of town do you live on?
Will D&B have some tag action afoot? Random team ups would be great fun.

Jan is the only banned player from this event. Everyone else is welcome to attend. Whether they choose to, is up to them.

Note, this isn’t the first time an incident like this has happened within’ the establishment. After seeing some of drama in the facebook group with what’s going on, it seems rather convincing that others are banned.
The entire “we won’t go because Jan is banned” thing isn’t really implying to all those who are interested in attending but can’t go.
No offense, but I believe the people who are actually living in the scene would know more on what’s going on than anyone else. I hope there’s some kind of clarification on all this, and soon (maybe the issue is as simple as it sounds, who knows because I’m not 100% sure on this myself since I’m from a different city. I just enjoy traveling to other events).
I’m interested to know the answer behind this as well.

I didn’t do anything else. When I left PZ to start the D&B weeklies then ALL of the drama started. We weren’t on bad terms until that point.
So everything i just read means someone, somewhere, is making a decision for retarded reasons.

I would say there has to be more to the story, but seeing the reputation that PZ is still giving out, well… sounds very believable

I now wonder if those who support the Dave and Busters event will be banned as well?
If so, sounds like a matter of time until all of Austin is banned from PZ related events, heh…
I feel that Jan’s ban was on a very basis judgement
He is willing to talk to you, about letting you play in the tournament, if you go to him civily and talk to him. Its not my ban its his. But i dont know if you want to go that route anymore.
I seem to think it was on a very Dave and Busters judgement.
The argument didn’t start due to the creation of D & B. It started due to having D & B being on the same time/day as PZ’s established weeklies. At that time I dont recall anyone saying D & B shouldn’t be around. and no people who go to D & B aren’t banned from showdown,lol. Im expecting to see Chief handing out hugs to many out of towners.
