I flagged you because you said something that was FALSE…and there was no “fucking dumbass” flag.
That is a lie.
If you would have said that “PS4 has no games that I like”…I would’ve understood.
So far XBone has no games that would compel me to buy it…but I’m not going to flat out say that they don’t have games.
Word your stuff better if you care about how others respond.
Whee! Got mine on launch day, but ended up being so busy I only had enough time to set it up. A few interesting things come to mind, including some pieces I’m hoping for some help/input on.
Playstation Store $10 Credit: I find it hilarious that you’re given $10 credit, but the vast majority of the games currently available cost $15 or more. Not that this is a huge problem, I’m sitting comfy money-wise so I’ll just get some more store pre-paid cards soon, but this struck me as rather… ‘trolly’ of Sony to do. I think there are like 1 or 2 games you can currently get with the $10. Any recommendations in the $10-or-less range, or should I just go get some more prepaid cards and step up to $15 games? I saw “Flowers” or something like that and wonder if it’s actually good.
HDMI Switch Box: For some reason, my PS4 will not play nice with my HDMI switch box. I’ve ruled out the cable and port; multiples of both were tried, and every other system I own works fine. It’s definitely the PS4 not cooperating with the box. Has anyone had better experiences with this, and if yes, with what specific box? I’m using amazon.com/gp/product/B009EADCXO/ , which my xbox 360, Wii (via adapter), and Wii-U all work fine with. I’m open to solutions with my current equipment or buying new stuff if it’s reasonably affordable. “Buy a new TV with multiple HDMI ports built in” is not affordable. “Buy this $20 switch, mine works with EVERY system including PS4” is affordable.
Playstation Plus Voucher: Weird thing, the 30 day free trial code requires a credit card. I am not fond of this, and prefer to use prepaids. Will a prepaid PSN Plus card (like the ones that come in 3 month, 12 month, etc. increments from store shelves) also require me to fork over CC info, or will those let me get by without it?
A milli in just USA and Canada in 24 hours is crazy.
European release is in two weeks, then parts of Asia get their’s in December, then Japan in February.
And it ain’t Black Friday or Christmas yet either, really hope Japan embraces this system from the jump as much they do the mobile gaming market nowadays.
You ever hear of Solid State Drives(SSD)? Once we start getting those down, all that leaves are optical drives, and fans. Not sure how you would replace fans though. Hot air has gotta go somewhere.
Why I suggesteed a hybrid SSD/HDD as an alternative. Seagate makes them. Give them a look. There’s pros and con per usual, but when my HDD died in my old laptop, I got a hybrid SSD/HDD and had no problems. Gives the space of an HDD and access speeds by putting programs used frequently in cache so you can access, it faster. I does it based on useage.
Would it work well in a PS4? I’ll have to do more research when I’m behind a computer to see.
so, some emulators and games don’t recognize the dualshock 4 controller completely.
when I go to ePSXe or the PC port of THPS3, I press a button on the DS4 when prompted to map the button but the input key appears for a quick moment only to delete itself.
zsnes and some other programs let me map the DS4’s input okay, but some won’t.
how do I solve this? do i use xpadder or some other type of program like that?
hybrids are cool. i’m running one in my laptop now.
but i doubt it would work for ps4. there’s some partitioning tricks it uses which i’m pretty sure the ps4 isn’t setup for.
and unfortunately, hybrids still have moving parts, its just bunched in with flash memory. so they still have a notable/acceptable failure rate, and can have some significant performance issues (took my laptop about a week of restarting before it had everything cached correctly on the ssd portion).
To be very nitpicky, I’d prefer it if the system light during use were blue and the boot color were white. Seems a little ass backwards in my opinion but I suppose it comes down to preference.
