eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh. Yes and no. I donāt think theyāre necessarily generic, they do seem to fit that basic cartoon aesthetic that Sonic certainly fits into. Whether or not itās the most fitting is probably up for debate, they donāt exactly look like Sonic characters. But thereās definitely a charm to it. I can imagine them being the characters you get jobs from if this is going to be anything like OG Jak and Daxter.

Someone mentioned Sonic Underground so i must say this.
In episode 1 when Sonic breaks into the base the bad guys didnāt it was Sonic all they had was a blurry shot of his behind. So they pulled up their computer and they had a database of different creatures Asses and cross referenced it with Sonicās ass. The best part is in most of the pictures the animals donāt know that their picture was taken but there was a Leopard/Cheetah that was looking back at the Camera somewhat posing for it. The database is at 15:39

Glad to see Metal Sonic on board for Boom. Heās my favorite villain of the series. Shadow can fuck off though. Donāt care about what that nigga gonna angst about this time.

Thinking about this earlier and Shadow Aceās comment reminded meā¦I had forgot for a moment that this is a separate universe from the mainline games so Shadowās personality and background have yet to be revealed. Given what we know of the other characters in comparison to their mainline personalitiesā¦they could very well give him his angst back and further exaggerate it to higher levels. I reeeeally hope they donāt do thatā¦
As far as Iāve seen it feels like Knuckles is the only one who you could argue has a different personality in boom than in the other games. Iām not the biggest fan of shadow although I donāt greatly dislike him or anything, so Iād like for them to take advantage of the fact that this is supposed to a more humorous project. Maybe not have him take himself so seriously. Nothing Iāve seen so far really strikes me as hilarious or anything, but I feel some charm.

Apparently Jun and Co. released a 2 disc remastering of the character vocal tracks from the Adventure era along with a new remix of āIt Doesnāt Matterā using the Adventure 2 version as a base. It also includes the instrumentals. Track list doesnāt have āOpen Your Heartā or āLive and Learnā on it since those arenāt technically character themes.

And in the process of trying to listen to some of the other remastered tracks on youtube I ended up coming across a remastered instrumental of āOpen Your Heartā thatās apparently on a separate release on itunes?
Edit: Always prefered SA1ās version of āIt Doesnāt Matterā and was always miffed that they didnāt have a instrumental for it aaaand this album fixes that.
Edit 2: wow āUnknown from M.E.ā SA1 instrumental sounds soooo damn good. Dat BRASSā¦Dat BASS.
