…I’m curious…which 3 games are we talking about here?
I’m going to resume SA2, Heroes and his own game. After he moved on from his broody nature in his own game Shadow became a supporting character. Sonic Rivals 2 is the last time I remember Shadow being used as a lead character.
Shadow was only coolish in SA2.
I assumed SA 2 and possibly Heroes…If I’d have to pick a 3rd where I thought Shadow was cool (character perspective…not talking gameplay) it’d unfortunately have to be 2006. Even though what he did in that game didn’t happen.

anywho sonic heroes was start of his decline, shitted on any potential he may have had as a villian, the anit-hero thing can work but let it make sense…black doom? fuck outta here…

I always wanted to see the “true” ending to Shadow’s own game, but there was no way I was going to sit there and figure out that insane story progression timeline.
Even if I did have fun with the game to a degree…
I did do the true ending in Shitadow the Hedgehog.
The true ending sucks and was not worth the time it took to get it.
One thing I can state with pride that everyone on earth can agree with for every shitty sonic game the music was always salvageable

I love “His World” from 06. Fight me. 
The music is the one aspect that never went down quality. Even Sonic 06 had some great tunes in it. The Crush 40 version of His World is among my favorite Sonic tracks.
Yea I only liked Shadow in SA2, he should have stayed dead.

The transmutate and dinobot episode being back to back was WAAAAAAY too much for a kids show though…I mean damn were they trying to destroy little boy’s souls.
That’s what made it fucking awesome. They respected our intelligence enough to know it wouldn’t destroy us and understood it was fiction.
I dislike Shadow, extreme Sanic that forced Knuckles into Krillin Territory. Then Shadow became Tien more or less. Hell in Generations he pops up to do jack shit other than cheer Sanic on.
Not as bad as SILVER though, talk about a fan made piece of shit…
That’s why he should have stayed dead. He had his moment, his time to shine, to be the center of attention and then he died and it made him memorable and it was cool. Now he’s just a stupid tag along.
Also it’s funny how many parallels to DBZ the Sonic series has.
It really does, Tails is totally Bulma lol. Eggman is Dr. Gero.
Only game I enjoyed Shadow in is the first All-Stars Racing, cause he just had to have a Motorcycle. Damn you Sega.
It was still extremely harsh though…but man it was brave storytelling.
Then beast machines and it all went to shit…fuck it’s like beast wars and the sonic franchise had the same fate.
