I thought I was the only one who liked the Knuckles redesign. I also like the scrawny legs because it strikes a balance between a new design and retaining enough of the old knuckles to still be easily recognizable.
I donât really care about the new designs. What bothers me is that the developers have stated an intention to bring more of a focus towards exploration and combat. These always end up being the worst parts of any 3D Sonic game. Sonic Boom might actually be my reason to get a Wii U but I fear it might be lacking in the twitch platforming department.
Well half the reason tends to be that the combat and exploration is usually not very developed and feel tacked on after the actual Sonic parts.
Still though, no one gets Sonic for the combat. ExplorationâŚeh, technically. You can consider blasting through different routes as exploration I guess, but I doubt thatâs what theyâre talking about.
Still hate those damn designs. Just keep the characters the way they are now.
Just make a Sonic game where I can run fast as Sonic/Tails/Knuckles and weâre good. Sonic games shouldnât be story-driven, they should be gameplay-driven. >_>
Sonic Boom is also the name of the new Sonic cartoon that will premiere on Cartoon Network later this year. The new game serves as the showâs prequel.
I know the feeling of skepticism when you hear "story and combat focusedâ for a Sonic game, but I feel like they could make a cool adventure if they really are sticking to Ratchet/Jak/Sly style level design. Some semi-funny dialogue/exchanges are really all Iâm asking for as far as story is concerned.
