So… we have 3 Sonic games on the horizon and all 3 of them are Nintendo exclusive. 1 is more than likely to be a throwaway, 1 we finally got a glimpse at and it looks quite promising and the other is still in the air and mysterious and all that. So I suppose the first order of business is to first post the trailer for Sonic Lost World again for those who for whatever reason haven’t seen it yet:
and also post up the extra info IGN has up about the game
Watched the trailer at least over 10 times by now and then watched it again in slow mo just to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. It looks like they’re using the Sonic Colors/Generations model for the character and giving him new animations. The way they’re animating his figure 8 run is a nice illusion and looks like they’re doing it in the same way the did Classic Sonic’s run from Generations, still doesn’t top Brawl’s though lol. Giving Sonic a run button now…it’s gonna be weird but i’m quite interested to see how it controls. That could very well be a good answer to controlling him a bit easier in a free space. Then there’s the parkour stuff they’re putting in which pretty much fits with his style imo. Only thing is it weirded me out seeing Sonic run up a wall and then grab onto the edge and actually pull himself up unlike that weird half thing he does in Adventure 1. So what are the thoughts so far on it?
It’s been many years since I last played the game, but in Twinkle Park I vaguely remember jumping off the rollercoaster early and running through a swimming pool (and doing other stuff like walking around on the pirate ship). Something like that. I also remember the classic “you’re gonna drown” tune go off.
When the fuck can I play Tails, Knux, and Amy again? In the games were I actually had a choice, I never picked Sonic. It was always the others that had a special ability that I liked. The only reason why I would pick Sonic is for the story because his is the only one that’s canon. Sonic Adventure for example.
The different gameplay of multiple characters is what caused those games to suck. It would have worked out better if Sega didn’t make me play a different game when I choose someone who wasn’t Sonic.
Just saw the trailer for Sonic Lost World. Have to say, I am intrigued. The 3DS version looks almost as good as the Wii U version. I’m betting more than a few fans are miffed that SEGA has chosen Nintendo platforms for this game. Haven’t Sonic games sold quite well on Nintendo consoles?
false…its how they handled said character choices and story
if you want to go by canon then do Sonic,Knuckles,Tails,E-102,Big,Amy stories in that order
I feel that if there was a reboot called Sonic Adventure Zero (gawdlike) it would refresh the stories and that the characters would be seen in a new light…just imagine Big’s fishing redone with redone with new music
^ dear lord that song is incredibly too face melting for catching fish lol. Also Big the Cat is dead.
Sega is following what the financial statistics are telling them and the fact that they’re having money issues. Let’s take for example the recent games of Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. Supposedly Colors as of March 2011 sold 2.18 mill copies and Generations as of Dec. 2011 sold 1.6 mill copies.
Keep in mind that Sonic Colors was Nintendo exclusive and on 2 platforms vs. Generations being on 3 platforms…4 if you count PC.
So from Dec. 2011 to May 2012 it managed to get up too 1.85 mill
Sonic sells far more easily on Nintendo platforms. The data is telling them that most of the Sonic fanbase seems to own Nintendo consoles and/or people who own Nintendo platforms are more likely to purchase Sonic games so they’re taking advantage of that and getting help from Nintendo this time. Thinking back on what that guy said earlier who was kind of shitting over the fact that Nintendo announced exclusive Sonic games( you can read the article or look at this gif from Gaf that kinda sums it up) seems to be glossing over this fact. A good chunk of Sonic’s fanbase haven’t been buying games much because of the decline in quality…but if Sonic Lost World does a better job than Colors and Generations then it can easily tap into that fanbase and make it into a system seller.
im actually considering picking up a wiiU, graphics never really mattered to me as long as the gameplay was good. It will sell because of the lower price point than ps4 or that other system
sales for wiiU will triple once smash and zelda hit
And besides it’s not like Wii-U games are ugly either, they look as good if not better then what we currently have. Are people really that dissatisfied with current graphics capabilities as to completely turn them away from the system? If so that’s terribly petty of them, and i feel saddened by it.
No. You don’t get to call the Sonic cycle. It’s a cycle because it’s something that plays itself out. You don’t notice the cycle until after it has happened.
