I’d like to see some sort of 3D rendition of Music Plant or Toy Kingdom from the Advance series since we haven’t seen anything like those levels since.
Oh, and a digital level that is not in Shadow the Hedgehog.

Icecap is overrated, probably because it’s inspired by MJ’s Who Is It song. I can listen to Diamond Dust all winter.
Sonic’s never been to the hood. They could really make an urban stage, complete with rusty brick buildings, Sega-inspired graffiti on the wall, some skateboard bowls, bouncing on laundry strings, grinding on bent poles, complete with 90s style hip-hop in the background. I’m sure there’s a run-down side of City Escape.
Sonic gets stuck in some kind of virtual operating system. Seeing how Eggman is a genius, he could make that happen. pop-ups acting as platforms and roads that load as he’s running on them. It could have a backdrop like the Special Stage in Sonic 1.
This one’s kinda weird but with all the giant monstrosities in Sonic games, I’m surprised he haven’t been eaten by one. Running around inside the belly of the beast is kinda a new angle. Could make for a good next-to-final boss stage.
I have to see more haunted levels. I want to see more stuff like the act 2 of Sandopolis and Mystic Haunt
I don’t think Carnival Night is a bad song but it added to my frustration when I got stuck at the barrel.
I would say that game is already available if you bought both Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles seperately, you can do the “game lock” thing.
Or were you suggesting a HD makeover from the ground up?
This is probably only because it comes directly after Chemical Plant…
Aquatic Ruin is a water level. No one likes water levels.
Hydrocity Zone is one of my most favorite Sonic levels ever. =(
Water levels aren’t inherently bad. A lot of them are though.
I like water levels
I like how sonic’s expression is like ‘really guy?’

not my favorite sonic song but everytime i hear it it makes me want to bend my arms at a 90 degree angel and do da chacha
i used to love doing the glitch on oil ocean zone that makes you able to run all super sonic esque and totally jump freakishly high everywhere. i bet theres a good speed run of that level using the glitch.

Using the touch screen as a rear view mirror is nice.

OK some quick stuff:
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
I’ve had the game since yesterday and I am enjoying it a lot. It’s a better improvement over the first game other impressions I’ve read have said that the game feels more like an arcade racer than a kart racer.
Visually the game is BEAUTIFUL, each stage looks amazing eye candy.
Gameplay-wise…the higher difficulties’ll drive you nuts lol. Medium is much harder and heaven help me if I ever play hard. However each track is fantastically done and are vastly improved over the first game’s. Honestly if you get the game and play it, you’ll get a big grin on your face as you play the stages.
The best part about the main campaign is that now 4 players can play together to finish the Grand Prix or World Tour modes, so if you have 3 other friends or family members around, they can join in and increase your chances of winning and unlocking stuff.
…and speaking of unlocking stuff, each character’s vehicle’s stats can be altered; want to drive Sonic’s vehicle with better handling? Just choose the mod that suits your preference to help in the stage you’re playing in.
Music is superb, here are some samples from the Shinobi stage, Golden Ax Stage & After Burner stage:

Reviews from major sites have been positive for the most part. There is a demo on XBL & EU PSN (US will get it on the 20th I think), but impressions I’ve read about it are mixed, so it may not be a good way of judging the game.
Did I mention the retail price is $40? …and if you happen to find an early print copy, you get an Outrun stage?
…and now comes the ‘but’, my biggest gripe about the game is the roster. The first game had a great roster with various fan favourites like Ryo, Jack & Akira, Alex Kidd, etc.
The game’s roster made let down at first, but I got over it as I kept playing the stages. If anything this game does it right by going Gameplay>Roster.
…and besides, it has Joe frickin’ Musashi from Shinobi, we’re talking this badass mo-fo right here:

It also has Vyse from Skies of Arcadia…and a stage based on this game:

ATM I give it a 9/10 and it’s pretty much my GotY atm.
…and just for the sake of mind fucks:

The game is also scheduled for a PC/Steam release but seems SEGA want to avoid the upcoming sales, and haven’t announced a release date yet.
…I would’ve gotten it at the regular price still…and honestly if promoted it right, this would’ve been enough to have the game pre-ordered if this got a trailer:
