Digital distribution should help out a bit but it sucks that things haven’t been able to turn around for them. I wonder how much product placement actually makes Sega?
Aren’t Sonic games in general universally sh#tted on? There are tons of people worldwide who still think there hasn’t been a good Sonic game even after Colors and Generations.
Unleashed has the same problems as Sonic Adventure 2. Half the game sucks and diverges from core Sonic gameplay, in SA2 it was the mechs. In Unleashed it is the dreaded “Werehog stages” but the Sonic stages were good. So Colors takes what was great about Unleashed and gives us more of that but adding some originality into the mix.
Lolno. Colours sucked ass. I think what you mean is it took everything that was good about Unleashed and made changes to it that didn’t make any sense. As far as the 3D main series games are concerned:

I can’t rank Heroes because I haven’t played it in years. By the way guys, when I’m talking about Unleashed I mean the PS3/360 version. I’ve never played the Wii/PS2 version, but apparently it’s a very different game.
I still hold the opinion that SA1 was a better game than SA2. Having the story separated by character instead of alignment is much better, Tails had better gameplay, there was less focus on side-emblems that are a pain to get as non-hedgehog characters (collecting 100 rings as Tails/Knuckles is nowhere close to fun), and the overall better storytelling just make the game more enjoyable to me.
Best Sonic games IMO are the classics (particularly S3&K) and Generations. Haven’t played Colors so I can’t judge it. Unleashed would have been better if they had replaced the werehog with Knuckles. That would have gone a LONG way in the game getting better reception.
I’ve played Sonic 2. It’s awesome. However, I can honestly say that (everybody get ready for this, incoming controversial opinion #3) Sonic 3 by itself is better than Sonic 3 and Knuckles.
I’m going to go ahead now and prepare (probably long) justifications for claim that I’ve made. It might take a while. In the mean time, feel free to send hate or whatever.
Cream was one of the top tiers in sonic battle…she had range for days because she uses cheese as her normals…plus he had good recovery…Chao tornado negated projectiles and provided a shield…I forgot the other specials she had…
Shadow’s keep away was op…he could run away easily
I think if sonic team made a sonic battle 2 it would sell well…
I don’t think Unleashed is better than Generations. That game, aside from the opening cutscene and the Sonic stages, was a huge disappointment. Generations was short but, it was a really good game.
