but the music was amazing…if they retweaked the gameplay it could have been the greatest racer of the 90’s

how come Cream got nerfed since she debuted in sonic advance 2…She actually ran just as fast as tails and knuckles…maybe even on par with sonic…(remembers amy…nevermind)
Sonic R would have been more fun if there was better character balance. Once you unlock Super Sonic and Metal Knuckles, all of the other characters become irrelevant.
Cream was top tier in SA2. Her boost action didn’t make her lose any speed, she had by far the easiest time with bosses, her flight covered more horizontal distance than Tails and was faster to boot. Sonic Team hasn’t really used her much otherwise though, aside from Heroes, Battle, and a few other stock racing titles like Sonic Riders.
As for Amy, I found it hilarious that she was crap in Advance 1, they buffed her extensively in Advance 2, and then they re-nerfed her in Advance 3.
Amy was fine, really. I found her fun to play in all the Advance games. I think if you pair her up with the right partners in Advance 3, she becomes like her Advance 2 self, so it’s not really a nerf.
I find it hilarious how Cream is broken in almost all of her playable appearances. Advance 2 is already given, Advance 3 makes her even more broken if you pair her up with Knuckles (constant Cheese shield), Heroes puts her in the team with the best Team Blast, and she completely breaks the game in Chronicles by essentially giving you infinite health and whatever the MP of that game was. I don’t know how she was in Sonic Battle, and for the racing games I guess they balanced her out better.
I love the music on Sonic R. I have all the tracks on my iPOD.

and that was pretty fun. cars,on foot it or hover board really doesn’t matter it doesn’t dictate whether the game will be fun or not.
i just think it’s kind of silly having a character who is based on going fast being in a car, it kinda defeats the purpose of the character and makes me detach myself a little from the game. it just sort of raises an eyebrow.
