An interesting speculation on the order of the levels-

Just so ya’ll know you’re in the hype segment of the Sonic cycle.
come again?..
oh…I see…
I’m immune i suppose tho…I love my little blue hedgehog reguardless on what some gaming site says about him…
Unleashed got a 4.9 on IGN, and I STILL play that game…
Sonic 4 got shitty reviews…and i think its one of the better 2d Sonic games.
I think most fan boys that “want the best for Sonic” and keep describing this “comeback”, dont know what the hell they are talking about…
I’m not even gonna touch that.
Played the demo earlier and fell through the floor, good shit :3
I’ll start with the issues:
-jump needs to be a little higher and have a little less startup
-being stunned after you get hit has to go niggas need to be able to move during those precious seconds of invincibility and collect rings
-not being able to roll and mainstain speed while running is annoying
-the set distance before stopping spindash is too long and will cause rage deaths BET IT!
-having to let go of analog stick and a button instead of just a button to spindash is dumb
-enemies (bee n crab at least) take way too long to charge and attack
Now what I like:
-amazing camera it zooms in and out at the perfect time to give correct sense of scale and heightens the on screen action appropriately with finely timed angles
-graphics are crisp and the art style retains the classic look while benefiting from today’s tech most apparent in the corkscrew which really popped out
-great sense of speed sonicteam finally nailed it
-there’s actual platforming! learning dimps is
-when you get hit rings bounce up and down instead of scattering making them easier to get (although this is kinda negated by the stun)
-level design is classic
Overall I loved the demo but if this was the retail release I’d be pissed that they missed an opportunity at greatness.
For the record this demo is very early build: It is not the one from E3 and Sonic Boom events.
The demo is alright… but seriously IDGAF I just want SA2 already on XBLA HANDS DOWN best sonic game ever made!!
This is the first time I’ve denied the cycle since Heroes. I just don’t believe it this time.

It was more a warning to keep your expectations in check then a declaration this being a doomed product.
…Tell me you enjoyed 2006…I dare you
fixed
How good was Rush? Or the one that Bethesda developed?
To me i don’t think Unleashed got a fair shake. Like i understand the hate for the were hog segments which is funny because to me it came off as something that would’ve been perfect for say a character like Knuckles. The day stages made it up to me though so it whatever.
no, it sucked ass…
so did knight, and a few other crappy ones.
but they got it right with Unleashed., and then they brought out Colors on the same Hedgehog Engine and everyone loved it. that always baffled me. same mechanics with Boost tied to the wisp instead of the rings…which slowed the game down a bit, but Unleashed was a really fun game…the daystage design was gdlike.
and Sonic 4 was misunderstood, most people didnt learn the new jump physics, using the air dash and the homing system takes some getting used to, but once you get a hold of it, it plays just like Sonic 2 with a homing attack.
Sonic Rush is OK. Sonic Rush Adventure is better.
Sonic 4 is a kickass game. My friends make fun of me because I have 600 lives saved up in that game . . .
I liked Sonic Heroes . . . anyone remember the Egg Fleet level where you’re REALLY FREAKING HIGH in the air and you have to take out his battleships? Best. Level. EVER. They need to bring that shit back.
good…wanted to make sure you weren’t one of the Sonic fans that was part of the problem. Though your idea of Sonic 4 playing like Sonic 2 with a homing attack is still suspect.
played through the demo several times…1st time taking my time and getting a feel for everything and doing more analyzing than anything then the subsequent tries were to go through different paths and ‘enjoy’ it as if it were a from the same cloth as 1-3K. I have to agree with a lot of zoolander’s con’s…especially the jump feeling heavy. Jumping also doesn’t seem to be affected as much by momentum in comparison either but this is definitely heading more in the right direction. Why does it feel like Sega is afraid to go back to momentum based bouncing from those games? It actually helps with where you need to land next besides there being a set bounce height off of enemies.
overall though it’s definitely fun…pros definitely outweigh cons.
Edit:
Sky Sanctuary…really Sega? You guys are seriously going to go with that stage out of everything else from 3K?
about to play the demo now, I didnt realize it was up.
Get out of here with this crap, i’m tired of seeing it in every single thing Sonic related.
You aren’t unique.
