The Sonic the hedgehog thread V.3-2012 Sonic 4: Episode 2

Just got 320 Xbox Reward Points, so now I have enough points to pick up Sonic CD when I get home.

It’s actually a bit more than just the spin dash. The physics controlling Sonic are just like Sonic 2 - which is awesome. O_O He maintains his momentum much better when he runs off cliffs and jumps while running at top speed. This was actually a REALLY good idea. I only assumed that the original physics in Sonic CD were pretty much like Sonic 2’s but they’re not. CD to me is like a mix of Sonic 1 and Sonic 2.

Hey where did the vocals go in “Toot toot Sonic Warrior?”

Other than that I’m loving the game. They did a great job with this and the 5 dollar price range is an instant win. You’d be a fool not to download this if you like Sonic.

I’d like it better if they allowed you to switch which song you want where. Waiting for the PS3 version! yay waiting…

And that’s probably because CD sits firmly between those two development wise.

Or to be even more exact:

I do to. I’m not much a fan of Sonic Boom at all honestly. I think it works much better as the ending song.

The singer to THAT song I heard is deceased so there were problems…

It’s nice because it’s a direct perspective on how different both CD and Sonic 2 were. There are things about CD I absolutely love because of how much from Sonic 1 it used such as the sprites and the overall graphic design. But Sonic 2 in comparison was much more refined visually and in how it felt. Even though it’s only been less than one day that I’ve seriously had CD, I can say it would have been a slightly better game if it had taken Sonic 2’s physics, spin dash included from the getgo. It just makes the overall experience feel a tiny bit less demanding than it already is and it may pay off down the line once levels become memorized.

In case anyone was wondering:
You can get the good ending by simply collecting all the Time Stones, so if you don’t want to go through with the Past signs and the exploring, just get those Stones.
Sorry if this was already known, but I myself only learned of this recently.

Nah. Not a lot of people to no surprise understand the main objective of the game, so they’re most likely left with thinking… “oh, I’m gonna run this shit like Sonic 2 and if I don’t get all the time emeralds, I’m still good in the end, right?” I owned CD on PC and had it emulated and never understood what they meant. It wasn’t until recently when I watched a Let’s Play of it that it started to make sense.

Fortunately, (I’m sure most people are NOT going to do this) in the Help & Options Menu, “How To Play” explains Sonic CD in simple, great detail.

“Simple detail” is an oxymoron.

>_>

<_<

Gonna have to blame it on the alcohol. Yesterday was my birthday. Had a good amount of sake. :3 I actually knew that sounded odd. Just wasn’t sober enough to think it through.

I agree, and that’s not the only thing.
When I switched it to the american soundtrack, every song sounds way better than the Japanese one.

I was quite surprised.

Not really, since he meant “simple instructions” and details can mean the same right? Correct me if I’m wrong.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles beats this game in everything except, like, special stage design, at least for me.

Music quality is even, everything else goes to S3&K.

How’s The 3ds version of Sonic Generations? The controls, The Stages, Storyline etc.? How many Stages are there compared to PS3 and XBOX 360 version and is it worth to buy?

peace out cUDDY:cool:

I wrote a review for it in the posts above. There aren’t as many stages as the console version but there are lots of missions to keep you busy. Be prepared to spend your play coins on them though.

I’m having fun with it but the console version was way better. They just dropped the ball and were lazy with a lot of aspects of the game. I think the 40 dollar asking price is too much for it personally.

going to pass on Sonic CD…no thanks…

I just put Sonic CD on my Galaxy S II. D-pad’s a bit small, but the game looks damn good on my phone.

Man sonic Generations was such a breath of fresh air, hopefully they arent going to continue there cycle of bad games, because if sonic goes on an adventure to stop his vampirism, i’m done yo.
