German Hands-on of Sonic Generations, Sky Sanctuary looks amazing, and I love how there are birds on some of the pedestals.
That brung a smile to my face.
Ahhh…the way the Death Egg came out from the clouds in the background…ALMOST makes me want to take back my statement about Sky Sanctuary being a transition stage.
30 min. gameplay of Sonic Generations, but be forwarned of spoilers:
Get it before it gets removed.
Also:
love how Classic Sonic is like ‘Problem?’
Sonic Generations - Dreamcast Trailer

Shadow boss fight on Final Rush with possibily a new version of Live and Learn wailing in the background? I think I subconciously signed up 4 times already for this.
That looked good.
Just saw the Dreamcast trailer (Sonic Heroes lol), and it was nice.
Also, screw the haters I want playable Shadow for multiplayer mode >=/
Man…this is lookin good. Like…I’m actually impressed.
And man Shadow was cool in SA2. They should have left him there, then he’d still be cool.
Wat?
When the list was leaked and it showed up that Sky Sanctuary Zone was on it I wasn’t even considering that stage at all to be in this game along with Hidden Palace Zone. There’s at least 5-6 stages from 3k that would have been better to have than Sky Sanctuary that I would have thought to have been on there. Sky Sactuary is pretty much a transition stage from Lava Reef Zone to death egg. It’s a nice stage but it didn’t feel like much besides having all the boss battles on the way. That’s my opinion.
I agree. Hopefully they’ll flesh it out more this time.
Will this game have multiplayer?
No there isn’t any multiplayer in this game. Maybe some point in the future they’ll at least add the ability to race against each other through the stages but for now I just want Sega to focus on making good Sonic games and pulling him out of the crapper. Once he’s established himself again THEN we’ll talk about branching stuff out.
Something else I wanted to bring up and bring to people’s attention. People on Gaf pointed out in the 30 min video that you’ll apparently be able to change music on the stages. Door into Summerwas supposedly spotted when they went into that option room. I’m gonna watch it again to be sure about that but I do remember there being change music options when you get to the stages.
Edit:
ahhh fuck…NM. SoA repo’d it.
No multiplayer is lame, would’ve liked to play this with a friend racing to get the best times.
Oh well will settle for trying to outperform one another lol.
You can still go for timed races…I mean I understand what you really mean, but you can still post speed times anyway.
As a hardcore Sonic fan… I dunno what to say. I remember just how profound the backgrounds were to me in the first 16-bit Sonic games. The shapes, the colors, everything (my favorite will always be Green Hill Zone from Sonic 1.) To find all that I loved within modern graphics with this amazing sense of speed thanks to what Sonic Unleashed brought… I’m quite touched. It is absolutely - beautiful and I have never wanted to play a 3D Sonic game this much ever. Take my money, Sega.
… but I’m still cautious. >_> However, I’m sold!
P.S.: Death Egg looks stunning.
I wouldn’t mind a multi-player once they’ve figured out how to do it. Give them another 20 years. It took them this long to make a proper 3D Sonic game.
This is sooooooooooooooo godlike. Real talk. I’m never going to leave my room until I can do this. Gonna find myself restarting the stage a lot.
So how would you rate the older sonics to the new ones?
The only recent Sonic game that’s come close to the Genesis Trilogy is Sonic Colors and there’s still a bit of a gap between them. Generations looks like it may actually fill that spot and get closer but small nit picky things that I’ve seen and felt from the gameplay will keep it from touching it. It’ll be pretty close though IMO.
Some screenshots of Speed Highway and Radical Highway got posted on Gaf
Speed Highway
Radical Highway
‘Up and down and all around’
Would be cool to get some of the 3DS games stages as DLC for the console versions (Wants Radical Highway)
