Well, since cigs aren’t that expensive over here, it don’t really hit me on the financial front. 2 packs a day = 4,5 (= 6,3$ a day) * 30 = 189$ a month. I make just under 2k$, so I’m not worried about going broke ‘cause of cigs. Add approximately the same amount of money for weed (usually even a bit more) and you get my smoking expenses per month. I don’t drink (like, maybe five times a year…), so my “party budget” survives from month to month without any problems. I guess I’m just addicted to the core. I love smoking. Love the feeling of smoke goin’ down my throat, love the whole “relax” factor they give me… I get stressed at work a lot and can’t imagine handling that shit without cigs. Thank god I left tech support behind a while ago. That job was absolute killer :S Can’t help but feel a bit embarassed for being labeled “hardcore”
About as much as I care about the health effects of coffe and sweets. So… Not really.
Cigs as a kid (13, 14 years old I guess), weed a bit later (started at 16).
Neo - Yeah, swishers are pretty damn nasty. I ran out of good cigars so I ran out to the store and got some swisher cigarellos. I could barely finish the thing. Not like anybody really buys those things to smoke the tobacco, though.
The thing is, you start smoking weed at school… and you get sort of used to it.
But the problem is that you basically can’t smoke weed all the time. (it’s expensive and you can’t smoke it in front of everyone… or in bars and stuff.)
But you still need that smoke in your mouth and inhaling something somehow when you are in a situation where you can’t roll a splif.
It resembles the CAO Brazilia greatly with its chocolate and coffee notes. It’s a bit stronger than the Brazilia too, is a good smoke out the box and always has two or three non cigar smokers giving respect to me because it’s a pimp looking cigar. :lovin:
As for White Owls, I actually dislike the Grape myself but the Peach and Pineapple are top tier in my book.
As of right now I’m trying out the Optimo Icy Mint cigarillos. The aroma is extremely pleasant and my breath actually smells good after smoking one too.
Ugghhh, I just smoked most of a pack of Marlboro Red 100’s over the course of a few hours since I was at a concert. Feel terrible now, not physically but more like “Damn what the hell am I doing” sort of thing. Usually a pack lasts me like two weeks. Anyway, I started weed first then moved to cigs, and as far as cloves go I usually stick with Djarum Blacks but the Specials aren’t bad either, just sweeter and more clove-y.
So basically, as some one who hates tobacco, but is interested in the whole hype around it, (I’ve tried many brands, many variations, cigarillo’s and all that shit) which smoke is gonna give me the best buzz.
I wanna test my addictive-ness, I don’t think it’s gonna take with me, I just never see the same things smokers see in cigarettes.
Although I am interested in 100% tobacco like Iren mentioned, as a part time hippy I’ve heard about the American spirits organics, and I’m pretty intrigued. I enjoy the act of smoking (weed) but I never feel the taste of the manufactured smokes and prime-times and pom-pom bullshit that’s in my area. Do organics taste good? coming from someone who thinks menthols are shit, most smokes taste like shit anyways, will it leave that horrible taste in my mouth?
most importantly, will it give me a noticeable alternative state of mind?
Draeger - I love the Brazilia. Definitely have to try that RP then.
And while I can’t say much about cigarettes, I’d say if you are interested in any new brand/type, go for it and pick some up. Most of the cigars that I love today were ones that I just tried because of interest without ever hearing anything about them.
Just find a brand that suits your pallette, plus the more you smoke the better they start tasting, or I should say the longer…
100% tobacco ciggs taste basically the same, American Spirits are much more mellow and burn forever, if you want to try a ciggarette that new people often like, try Parliment lights. It has a recessed filter so the drag is easy and they burn really quick, plus they are a pretty safe taste.
I smoke ultra lights now, but the best smokes I had when I was experimenting with brands was, Sherman’s, queen pack for a cigar like taste, and Reds for a very musty-morlboro type tase. THe other brand was Dun-Hill, very smooth, classy looking and has a defined taste.
I’m glad most of you guys have pretty varied taste. Most of my friends that smoke all smoke either Djarums or Camel Turkish Jades. I don’t think they smoke anything else. I understand if you like a brand, but I have to rotate my smokes. I just get tired of the same old tastes.
Don’t do it. I was just smoking for the hell of it and before I knew it I’d already made a bad habit out of it. Now it takes some serious will-power to quit, but it’s so much easier and more fun to just keep smoking.
I switched to brown Barclays, before the dark blue and then baby blue. They irritated my throat, didn’t taste much and burnt out too fast. I spent twice as much and smoked just as much as before, instead of slowly putting the cigarettes down for good. Well, damn.
You make a habit of smoking at certain times or with certain activities, and the more stuff you associate it with, the harder it is to put that damn cigarette down.
Experiment with money making instead, or something…
Listen to this man. If you can’t get down with a P-Light or a Dunhill, or a Marlboro Smooth or a Camel light, just don’t risk anything and don’t try smoking.
And no… no noticeable alternative state of mind. Though it can make you feel a bit light headed and giddy for a brief moment. Cloves though just chill me the fuck out and when I inhale one it’s cool and smooth and is like a refreshing breeze in my brain. Whatever the fuck that means. And Native American Spirits are really gross to me. They taste dirty.
