Akai Katana Coming To Europe In 2012

Rising Star has announced it will be bringing Japanese top-down, arcade shooter Akai Katana Shin to Europe on the Xbox 360 during the first half of 2012. In a move which sees Rising Star continue its long-standing partnership with CAVE, Akai Katana Shin will be given a HD makeover for its debut on home consoles.

If it’s anything like RSG’s release of DoDonPachi Resurrection then it’ll be region-free.**

Oh HELLZ YEAH!!! That’s what I’m talkin about!!! I knew I was gonna get a XBox 360, but I keep getting more and more reasons. Thanks for the news Paradox.

When will Cave get a permanent international distributor? They have to have enough money to strike a regular on-going deal with someone by now. It’s awesome that we get region free releases but import we still have to.

And why not push for more digital releases Cave?

Good questions all around FC. If cave does get it together like that, I’d be so happy. Right now I’m letting people rock out to the beat hazzard demo. Tuesday, it’ll be FOR REAL. All the music, all the bells, all the whistles. All gettin shot.

-Starhammer-

If I’m not misaken, Cave IS handling all their US distribution now.

So far, they’ve released DeathSmiles II, Akai Katana, Mushihime-Sama Bug Panic, NIN2-JUMP, and Instant Brain on their own.

It’s been my stance for a long time that Cave should just release their games on PC. The reason they don’t is probably because of the industry line that people would just torrent them and they’d lose money (though this has been proven time and time again to be an insignificant factor). STG’s are a niche genre with pretty hardcore fans who are willing to spend thousands of dollars on imported systems and games, not to mention PCBs and arcade harware that’s long ago been out of print/discontinued and can be played via MAME/other emulators, so I’m sure they’d still get their money. Being able to play them on any PC, take them on the go with a laptop, and not having to spend money on an imported system or worry about a console breaking down would be huge benefits.

You and me think a lot alike Nas. me? I’d completely support them if they were to do this. I would have to scrape and save for the cabinets, but I could fully see me doing this. If I get a bigger place, I may very well get onto that idea in the near future. ya never know when it comes to getting shot. It can happen anywhere at anytime. Speaking of which, tomorrow…I will get to download and get shot even more. It’s a good time to be me.

Oh. Mah. GAWD.

Beat Hazzard Ultra just became my ONLY choice for playing music. I know the visualizer is probably nothing more than a bunch of preset stuff, but it’s so damn trippy I don’t CARE. :woot: Throw in some tunes and let it play. You can entertain yourself all day. Even better when you get shot. The damn screen EXPLODES with color!!! I’m lovin it. Yes, I am indeed lovin it.

Also, Everyone raise your guns up and give a proper Empire Of Ammo salute to our good friend Naslectronical. He has produced a lot of usefull, quality info for those who wish to get shot on the PC, but may not have much money at the time. Keep doing what you’re doing my fellow shooters.

-Starhammer-

Why thank you :china:

Oh shit.

Otomedius Excellent actually came out! XD

My copy of the Collector’s Edition should arrive Friday. I know what I’m doing this weekend! #_^

Indeed Mr. Nas.

Update on the game Beat Hazzard Ultra:

The bad: Upon further testing, I fear that this one may yet be another case of a game that says it can generate the stage by using the beats in the music, but it looks to me like once again, the enemies and such come out under their own pattern.

The Good: It is still tough enough with all the razzle dazzle involved that any fans of games like Geometry wars, Stardust HD, Nucleus, etc. will and SHOULD give this bad baby a try. The visualizer is straight up Eyeball sex. I wish there was an achievement for playing it too long. I would’ve gotten it yesterday. I haven’t really gotten too many of the perks unlocked yet, so I don’t have anything to write up about them. I’ll have to tear myself away from the music side of things sooner or later and give them a proper workout. Everybody, KEEP GETTING SHOT!!!

-Starhammer-

When I get my XBOX next month, I think I know what will be the first game I play upon it. Can’t wait to see what your review of it, fellow shooter.

-Starhammer-

If anyone’s interested. Under Defeat is coming to both XBox 360 and PS3.

The image didn’t work, so what’s the lowdown on this one d3v?

A little more IMO on the game beat hazzard Ultra:

I think this one, with the aid of some surround sound speakers, is a GREAT way to set up a party in your house. Everybody gets shot with sound, any song played is a new stage, it can’t miss. I’m having a blast from all the seizure-inducing lights. I’ll get back into the more serious shooters soon, so don’t worry. For now, time to dance and get shot.
