Looks like the video is in fast forward.
lol:)
Useless, annoying commentators.
Never said we were professional commentators.
Besides, you’re more than welcome to commentate on the livestream if you like.
Why is this your “final” video?

Five Ranked matches.
That guy is awful.
But thanks for uploading all these matches.
Yeah I thought the same thing. I was wondering how those vids made it to your channel. lol. Ill be uploading some matches against a pretty good Gen player later tonight. That character is better than I thought lol

I think we need to differentiate videos between “online”, “japanese online”, and “offline tournament/casual”.
This guy is just getting away with too much scrubby shit from mash dp, mash backdash, and blindly mash forward dash into throw or cr.LP, hallmarks of the Official FlowChart Ibuki. Also jump forward kunai which is seemingly broken online vs characters that don’t have a dp-type antiair.
I had so much fun playing this Gen player and learning the matchup. I had some really great games with him!

This guy from Aus consistently finishes in the top 5 of local tournaments, and imo is a very good Ibuki. What do you guys think?

Where’s the download or watch button?
Seems just okay. But I don’t think those two videos do enough justice. It’s basically just him rolling over two random people on XBL who completely refuse to accept his safe jumps.
He also doesn’t go for max damage like tsumuji loop, or at the very least TC4 , st.LP , st.MK; he does tsumujis when the better option would be neckbreaker; he’s missing intricate matchup knowledge like j.HP crossup on Sagat in the corner or EX tsumuji , cr.HP; he doesn’t antiair much (it is XBL so I guess I’ll give him that); and he plays fairly reckless with stuff like neckbreaker/SJ at the start of the round, as well as a number of command dashes. The top 5 at my local tourneys would never let shit like that slide (literally too; even Ibuki’s slide will get punished).
Was that ST RH on Fei’s wake up Chicken Wing legit? Or was it just luck that he didn’t DP on wake up. Wonderinggggggggggggggg.
Sako video was pretty dope. It’s not even that he does anything impressive with Ibuki, it’s just his whole play style is always amazing to watch. Wish I had those reactions lol.
Been a long time reader but first time poster and I actually appreciate someone posting my reps for review. I don’t claim to be the best Ibuki and I realize I still have many flaws that need ironing out. I accept that there were instances of recklessness which would have proved detrimental to my gameplay and I was lucky to get away with it. What needs to be said is that you’re discrediting my opponent at the expense of realizing that it was my pressure that put him in those situations in the first place.
I’m not sure where you got my lack of ‘intricate matchup knowledge’ from. It may well be possible that you’re basing this assumption on the fact that you haven’t seen me around before and that you’re only making judgement based on those 2 games. I don’t post reps often and perhaps this will be the start in helping me gain some valuable feedback from yourself and others here who may provide guidance in helping me become a better ibuki player in the future. I do thank your response and welcome any constructive criticism, bear in mind with justification of course.
I can assure you that it was no luck and that from a safe jump setup, you can j.hk os s.hk and it will always tag the chicken wing or block a dp. Unfortunately, I missed the the hit confirms into a sjc reset combo but it’s certainly a viable option against feis who like to chicken wing their way out of vortex trouble.
Btw I am curious Mingo. What is this j.hp crossup in the corner setup? I do apologize that this may have most likely been mentioned throughout the forums but if you could shed any information on this, it would be most appreciated.
I find the cr.lk to tc4 is a very useful combo in that once you get your opponents to stop reversal on wakeup, you can perform an empty jump into cr.lk >tc4 sjc into ultra 2 as well.
The NB at start of match is generally a stupid option and it’s something I rarely do if that was a tournament environment. It’s just one of those silly things you gamble on to try to get an early kd if they don’t expect it but as I said, this is something I rarely do as I am completely aware of its ramifications on block.
Look at the end of the day, I welcome criticism more than praise as I’m looking towards developing my use of this character. I have no issues with what Mingo said, because a lot of the points he brought up are completely valid and its often true that I do not maximize damage given certain opportunities.
I’ll certainly try to post up more games to get some more insight to certain matchups.
Appreciate your replies and feedback.
Cheers!!
I don’t think anybody here is claiming to have a gdlk Ibuki. I’m just trying to help.
I’m sure you have a gdlk pressure game, but I didn’t have a chance to really see much rushdown except you doing a safe jump or other okizeme pressure and then your opponent feeling compelled to mash buttons like it’s nobody’s business. Examples:
Round 1
0:32 - wake up flame kick (looked like you mistimed the j.MK safe jump but I could be wrong)
0:36 - wake up EX chicken wing (I’m fairly sure you timed your j.HK incorrectly and accidentally did cl.st.HK)
0:38 - wake up FA
Round 2
1:07 - another wake up flame kick
1:13 - wake up EX chicken wing (I wonder if st.HK is a better option select here than cr.HK? depends on Fei’s backdash range I suppose)
1:18 - wake up cr.HP
1:21 - reversal U1 like it’s an antiair ultra or something
1:26 - yet another wake up flame kick
1:29 - wake up far.st.HK
The only two times Fail Long doesn’t wake up with someting:
0:47
1:09
Probably.
Wouldn’t j.HP be the better jump in option? More damage.
My mistake, I thought it was j.HP crossup, since Sagat has a big hitbox. Actually it’s j.MK crossup, but still a lot better than j.LK. http://shoryuken.com/f336/ibuki-combos-glitches-231815/index15.html#post10172606
Not to turn this into the critique thread, but a few pet peeves of mine:
If this isn’t your playstyle, that’s fine, but at the very least, for example, you should end your combo with neckbreaker, not tsumuji (0:46).
3. 1:25 - there was no reason to do EX kazegiri here. You could have finished off your opponent with st.MK xx neckbreaker or just simply U2.
