Was really fun watching Acqua’s Ibuki go at it. He only won like 2 of his fights against Mochi’s Sim and Tonpi’s Viper specifically but he came super super close to beating Daigo. Which I think comes to show that that matchup really isn’t all that bad. Ryu only has footsies from a distance he can’t really just randomly hit her with some shit from across the screen and take all of her life away. Which works in Ibuki’s favor because Ibuki can lame all day with kunais and sliding under fireballs to reset her positioning. He also did really well against Nemo’s Chun Li and definitely opted to do different okizeme on her instead of the kunai vortex because of her EX SBK’s ability to blow away the kunai. That change in play style on her wake up allowed him to still stay on top of Chun Li without wasting time getting blown away by EX SBK.
It’s not surprisingly to me at all that he got blown up by Sako. Not only is Sako just fucking good but I think Cammy is really difficult for Ibuki. Ibuki has a hard time dealing with dive kick BS since all of her normals are short ranged and not really designed to deal with them. Sako was just using dive footsies and coming in and out of Ibuki’s attacking range all day forcing Acqua to do risky ass shit just to land hits in. Even if u knock Cammy down you have to have really specific regular jump kunai vortex setups or she’ll DP you in the face. Plus her super quick backdash allows her to focus dash out of obvious kunais easily making her tough to pressure even on a knockdown.

Thanks a lot for the time stamps - I was gonna watch these earlier but never got round to it.
He actually also won against Arai (claw) and got 3 wins with still two matches to go against kindevu (cammy) and momochi (ken). IF he wins these two matches he would advance to the next round. I hope he will make it, would be nice if there are 6 different chars in the next round (Ken is just another version of Ryu, jk xP).
That ultra change of him against Daigo really suprised me and probably Daigo as well :P)

It’s a fight vs. an Akuma and towards the end I try to option select his teleport. It works but it doesn’t quite work the way I’d want it to. Check out the vid and I’d like to see if anyone could explain if that’s how the OS is supposed to work on an auto correct situation.

Around 19 minutes in starts Acqua playing against Momochi and Kindevu. Both of those matchups seem to be rough for Ibuki. Ibuki has little to stop dive kicking and once she gets knocked down it’s almost impossible. You just have to play real in the moment against Cammy and hope it works out it seems.

It’s one of the last of the newest ones that has me fighting a Dudley player named Tags7something. In a typical situation he assumed that I post the vids up to show off who I can beat and found it weird that out of the 2 whole times we fought the only video I uploaded of us playing was the one where I beat him. Which firstly I dont even remember the 2nd match we played or even remember seeing it in the battle log. He did have a point in that the match was a bit laggy that we fought. Which whether I win or lose really has not much to do with why I put the vids up. If I put vids up of a long set between players I usually put one video where I win and one where I lose and follow that pattern. Which even then it doesn’t matter because I don’t even take the game seriously enough to care whether I win or lose…especially online. LOL. I mainly just put the vids up for analysis and seeing what I did right or wrong. I’m not an online warrior looking to blow up my BP points and show it off to the internet.
**On a lighter note **though I’m trying something different with these next set of vids by a request to put music with the vids. It’s all music from either Xmen2 on the Genesis or VF1 on the Saturn. In some parts of the videos the music went surprisingly well with what was going on and I generally tried to pick music that would fit with the stages. Oh and B-Izm nice stuff with the vids. Seems u picked her up pretty quickly. I really liked in the Chun match how you baited the EX SBK on wake up with a backdash and then neckbreaked the whiff to put her back in. That was pretty smart. Nice kazegiri FADC mix ups.

They were good matches Niko, you had some good mixups accompanied with good frame traps. One thing I think you need to work on is your anti air game, I seen a few jump ins were you could have b+mp xx dash canceled for mix ups and damage. Definitely better then me though, I’ll try get some matches up tonight for critique, seeing all of you in action has made me jealous.
Jord…in the Guile matchup if u watch more of it basically getting in is almost a matter of chance. Guile never whiffs anything with enough recovery for u to EX neckbreak or U2 ultra on reaction so a lot of the options u normally have to close the gap reliably are lost in this match. Plus df+MK to go under booms is not as reliable because if he spaces the booms right u only slide under the boom to be in a great position to be s.HP’d by Guile. He essentially can use all of your anti fireball tools against u and that’s what makes the matchup tough and very based on reactions rather than a super solid gameplan. If you get in you can easily take the match but it’s the getting in part that u have to work hard at. That’s why sometimes focus dashing forward isn’t terrible because as long as u have the health to take the risk it can get you at a range u need to be to counter poke or throw Guile and put him in the mix. Plus once u get in closer range a lot of his normals only do one hit or are generally easily focus attacked so u can start scaring him with counter hit level 1 or level 2 charge focus to gain a knockdown and set him up.
You’ll also notice sometimes especially at the start of the round that Acqua focuses a non EX fireball and then backdashes. He’s basically taking a small risk to build up free meter for his ultra. Generally it’s difficult to pass through booms with ultra 2 because u can only guarantee you’ll hit him with the ultra if u ultra at the very start up frames of the boom. Though if u build your ultra meter up quickly in this match Guile will have to respect u dashing forward at his booms because if he does an obvious boom after u dash forward u can ultra the start up on reaction. Plus when u get in it also gives u earlier access to combo into ultra 2 since with a full ultra meter a combo into u2 can help u take the fight if it will do enough damage to kill him.
I guess I need to play more guile’s to help me understand why it’s hard to get in. Never really played a good one who zones well. Too used to vanilla guille LOL. But thanks for the write up.

Got some videos uploaded on me against a bison, he was alllrighttttt, but still wrecked me :lol: In these matches I was just trying my hardest to block (As much as I love pressing buttons, dohoho) and just get him to the corner and bait shit out (Which worked quite a bit). These were my second and third matches of the day so my execution is horrible (Especially canceling cs.hk into dash). I also have no idea how to deal with head stomps which I’ll have to look into in training mode later. Be aware that I was wayyy too intimidated to do any sort of mix ups against bison, I will try to get more vids of me playing against other characters so you can see how I mixupz. :tup:
