The Shinobi Secrets: Ibuki Video Thread

why didn’t you want to neckbreaker all those times gief was using lariat? i saw you avoid it about 5-6 times?

too scared honestely, as you can see on those videos he is a beast lol

and here’s

Target combo into Ultra 495 and taget combo into Super 475
what do you say? which one do you prefer?

I would say the super it has slightly less damage but that sjc to ultra online turns into a super jump cancel into ex kunai…sigh…i need practice has anyone managed to pull off the sjc in a match with a normal controller?

Love this idea, will be posting some videos here when i get my camera on monday

Once I find a camera, I’ll start posting vids. Very good idea.

The Ultra so I can use Ex Neckbreakers and Ex Tsu for knockdowns and corner combos

If you just do J.HP with no f.MK you get 536 dmg with the ultra. The second hit in every air combo scales damage.

Just a heads up.

New matches uploaded

I know, I need to find better opponents, and I have a lot to work on. Just looking for a general summary of my gameplay and what I should work on first

condor drive gets stuffed easily with standing mp

Good to know. I’ve been using it on a few diff chars dive kicks but was too scared to try it out on T. Hawk. I usually like blocking and getting a free Neckbreaker / Ultra II out of it. But duly noted

Tomorrow Im going to try and see if any of my old SFIV buds are online and get some matches in with them. The majority of them are far superior to me skill wise so it’d make for better macthes

thx for the tip and below is a random posting on my video lol at him

kaicho Block User Yeah, I also had that combo vs. her super-combo that I created.

I came up with a super-combo that’s done by combining 3 of her hard-hitting moves and cancels into her super. It does 551dmg with 396 stun … I think it’s probably among her highest damage output possible, but it does more dmg than her solo-unscaled Yoroitoshi.

I’ll make a combo video of it, and show the world… for now, it’s my secret.

Here are some new vids of me playing. starting to get a lot more used to ibuki now. also stopped using U2 cuz i get too focused on trying to land it when it only does 200 more dmg than normal combos and no vortex. i also can’t do the jab, strong(2hit), fierce combo consistantly enough. i can do s.short, s.fwd sjc ultra very easily but it does like 398 dmg. which isn’t a whole lot more than normal Bnbs. i started using U1 cuz it has comeback potential (esp when i’m desparate). and the possibility to punish unsafe stuff.

Did anyone catch eISH’s ibuki?

Sorry if I’m jumping the gun eISH, it’s just too good to not share

Philly One…general advice against u vs. IFC. I left some advice in the first video as well.

Punish those blocked EX green hands. c.LP to neck breaker combos on every blocked green hand. Don’t let him get away with those 09 scrub gief tactics. IFC is a really strong player but he doesn’t really have to play well against u due to what you’re doing. Don’t jump in at Gief on wake up with a perfect kunai setup. Why are you command dashing at Gief? I guess u like losing? LOL. Stop randomly jumping forward at Gief. Have a plan first.

Vas…looks like ur messing up in more videos. LOL. You’re definitely working on it though. I like how consistent you’re becoming with the c.LP to s.LP neck breaker combos. Looking pretty high level with that. Now u need to just press the LP super jump kunai setups more. Like on Guile you should be doing it after like every knockdown. Guile can’t do A THING about kunai vortex. If u forget to do it then just smack yourself or at least go for a regular cross up. Also…why do you use focus attack so much? I mean I guess since I used to be a Viper player my focus attack was just so ass that I learned to fight without it. Even with Sagat (who has a really good focus attack) I never used focus much in real battles. They’re too easy to bait. Just play regular SF and stop playing SFIV for a while and you’ll get better results. There’s nothing about Guile that you regularly need to focus any ways. All of his normal attacks recover too quickly for u to need to be focus attacking all day. Just s.LP the hell out of him. Anytime he goes for focus attack just walk up to him and s.LP him into neck break combo. s.LP is free focus break/combo.

You did alright against the Rufus player but try to use more s.LP to space him and s.HK and f+HK are good anti airs against Rufus dive. b+MP isn’t bad either but it’s easy for him to bait that because of the small horizontal hit box. When you’re in the corner use your s.LP’s to space you out.

Against Dictator…he if he blocks a MK tsumuji (mk spin kick is the only one u should really be using outside of EX) DONT do the sweep at the end. Anybody can reversal inbetween the second spin kick and the 3rd sweep. Don’t even go for a 3rd spin. If they block just stop at 2 spins. Punish s.HK with sweep and go to town with cross ups and vortex.

USE MOAR s.LP.

Cool videos. Especially enjoyed seeing what works against Guile as he’s my hardest match-up at the moment (though obviously not everything does). Thing I took away the most from these is that Ibuki’s backdash is quite effective at avoiding normals and FAs.

I found it interesting you used the cr. FK, FK target combo instead of ending one with Tsu or Neckbreaker. Is that because Guile’s wake-up is just too unpredictable and you wanted to avoid that circumstance?

Oh I was gonna say, you tend to let your enemy get away with a few free focuses. Neckbreaker seems to be such an effective way to kill a focus. Maybe it doesn’t work against better players?

Guile’s been tricky for me too, esp against seasoned and experienced Guile’s that know how to keep themselves properly spaced and protected.

Yeah Guile is difficult until you knock him down basically. Once you get the knockdown go to town.

Great matches,i am learning alot from those(just like your cammy a year ago)
Aldo im still still not convinced in the target combo you use, if you had used hp neckbreaker finish that would have won you the first round against the guile.
People already know how to punish that target combo.

Anyone have a video against a good Juri? I’ve read a lot about the matchup but would love to see it actually being executed, I can’t seem to do as well as I should against her.
