How classy of you… especially since you come here asking for critique. Your hypocrisy and pseudo intellect embarrasses you.
I’ve read from multiple posts that cody has bad antiair/wake up and I don’t use Cody to know his options nor do I have the time to test them out for myself. 4 antiairs iirc which are very situational I thought.
Bad wakeup? Yes. Bad antiair? Not really. Just because it’s not a shoryuken doesn’t mean it’s a terrible antiair.
Also lol Predman. LuisThePanda is definitely way better than you in terms of skill. Probably better than me too.
What does that have to do with anything?
Hmm I guess you got me there. I perceived your insult toward him to be about skill levels but now that I read it again it’s actually about hypocrisy and such lol.
Anyways, Cody definitely has a decent aa and is not free to jump on unless he’s knocked down or in special cases, you’re spacing your jump very well to avoid its hitbox. End of story. Next critique.
Edit: Actually now that I think about it, Ibuki doesn’t necessarily have to jump in with a normal all the time. If she jumps in with a kunai, Cody’s aa only lasts long enough to hit one target (unless you’re a noob and you throw the kunai when you’re right next to Cody’s aa hitbox), so it’s either block the kunai and Ibuki gets in, hit the kunai and Ibuki still gets in, or get out of the way then Ibuki controls more of the match, probably pushing Cody to the corner or something or gaining better positioning/spacing. So yeah, maybe Cody is a little bit more free than we thought.
On the stick the first 3 buttons are lp, mp, hp so it would be referring to the TC and i guess he means that when abel does his kick dash it has frames before going for anything else so it gives just enough time for the target combo to land with a 3 frame st. far lp
Some wishes just dont come true, unfortunately
but you need close lp for the tc to come out.
Close Jab is a 3f move.
probably jab, strong, fierce. 123
Even on block, but that’s without Abel’s dash cancel.
I get the term “123” from 3rd strike Yun’s chain combo. It’s much easier than saying chain combo # XYZ, which some would probably still not know wtf I’m talking about. I did say right after “since jab is 3 frames”. I would think that would give a clue but whatever…
See this is one of my main problems with these boards. if you dont know shit about Cody, then why the hell are you posting about him and giving people wrong advice like if you knew the match up?
And I guess I cant correct people if im asking for critique lol? that makes me a hypocrite somehow?
I’m pretty new to the game (I played casually on and off during SFIV) and decided to play SSFIV a bit more seriously. It’s not a very good match and I’m not a very good player, but i would love some critique/pointers/advice on my Ibuki.

It’s clear you very very new to the game. The best advice I can give you is just play a little more first and try to incorporate basic stuff into your game like staying spaced/mobile, punishing, and your pressure game. Half of this stuff you’ll learn eventually with just experience.
Also next time post a losing replay.
- You don’t punish many things. When in doubt, try to link st.LP and buffer st.MK xx tsumuji. This ties into Ibuki’s combos. You don’t know any of her combos. Lurk around the Ibuki forums more and read the combo thread.
- Stop doing random neckbreakers.
- You made some attempt to play footsies, I applaud you for that. But cr.MK isn’t her only poke. Again, lurk around the Ibuki forums more. I think in the Q&A thread, it lists Ibuki’s pokes and when/where to use them, ideal situations, etc.
It seems like you think their some horrible fallacy with being wrong. Seeing how I was wrong and quickly corrected, no harm was done except by your own narcissism furthering to boost your own ego.
Well if you question the intelligence and somehow the “existence”(how does that work?) then you shouldn’t be asking for advice you fool.
…hmmmm button legacy since the ever creation of fighting games was based on 123456. and then it derived to wutever now (due to the arcade system acknowledging the buttons as numbers)…i still use numbers tell now, sadly people mis understand it with movment notations due to the Keyboard shortcuts introduction. so now i stick with the new button explanatory legacy lol.
ps: i still use 1,2,3,4 description for tekken,VF and GG as well
Mingo:Why does this guy sometimes end his combos with EX tsumuji? Does he not want to get a neckbreaker or regular tsumuji setup for his vortex?
dude u can do a forward vortex after EX tsumuji…i dont see why not using it. i use it alot but after f+lkXX tsumuji link like footsies with d+lk
^ that answer doesn’t apply because he sometimes didn’t even go for a low ender.
Ohh wut the fuck lol…and not in corner for follow up? …hmmm wuts the point then?
who was playin anyways though?
Lol u guys are analyzing that video hard as shit. From what i would assume he was mainly trying to just maximize his damage per combo and push Abel into the corner. Ex tsumuji gives her the most damage without a lot of execution and ending it high pushes the opponent far away towards the corner.
Which is smart because Abel is useless if u push him into the corner. Sure he could try to do low damage mk tsumuji or hp neckbreak combos and try to put him in a vortex though the main issue is that Abel has a lot of health/stun and ex roll basically acts as a free escape from the vortex. So instead of focusing on vortexing Abel to death he was focusing on pushing Abel towards the corner because all of Abel’s defensive options outside of blocking are useless once he’s there.
EX Roll isn’t too great of an option against vortex. The whole thing about Ibuki vortex is the side switch shit. If Abel goes for EX Roll, but doesn’t get the side correct, he’ll get EX Wheel Kick, which loses to kunai before he gets off the ground.
So he still has to get the side right, and if he can do that, he could just block anyway.
I’m sure he can just buffer it before you actually cross him up.
