The Shinobi Secrets: Ibuki Video Thread

Yup, some really sick Ibuki stuff by Buktooth at Devastation in general.

Here are some vids from yesterday with Buktooth.

Bucktooth is my favorite Ibuki at the moment. Will be rooting for him today when he’s playing Mike Ross.

I don’t know how anybody can bear to watch these. If this Ibuki just simply knew that blocked horizontal balls are punishable with neckbreaker, she probably would have won every round due to this Blanka’s ridiculous over reliance on horizontal balls. It seems every time he has the charge he just throws it out there. Or if this Ibuki knew how to stay the hell away from electric thunder and space herself out, she would have won even more rounds due to this Blanka’s reliance on electric thunder every time he gets pressured. Blanka getting pressured? 30% chance of him doing horizontal ball, 30% chance EX ball, 30% chance electric thunder, 10% chance of actual blocking.

Also lol at mash jabbing Ryu/Ken. Odd how he mashes dp but can’t antiair as a shoto.

All I gotta say is that Buktooth showed some incredible footage of Ibuki. Very nice usage of the vortex, and loop when he could.

Mike Ross seemed to have the Kunai cross up figured out for the most part.

Yea, true that, but buktooth still showed a strong showing of Ibuki. Mike Ross, IMO, is an amazing player as well.

Buktooth probably should have went for a few j.LK safe jump crosses to mix things up instead of continuing to shove the vortex on him which yeah he was getting accustomed to as time went on. Buktooth was also playing unnecessarily recklessly at parts. Engaging Honda a bit unnecessarily. If he just zoned and played lame more early on it would have probably worked out more safely. Throwing out MK kazekiris mid screen when Mike Ross has ultra stocked? All that did was get him Ultra 1’d from Honda. I don’t know what the purpose of that was. I guess he was trying to stuff some of Honda’s footsies and land a knockdown but that is going to die to a forward jump, neutral jump HP or well timed headbutt any ways. He probably would have fared better sticking with kunai and j.MK zoning and just trying to build meter for super to shut out Honda’s game plan.

Either way Buktooth showed strong with Ibuki and definitely showed why Honda arguably doesn’t do better but even in that matchup. She really doesn’t have to be anywhere near him to fight him and if she gets a big health lead and a knockdown she can just go to town on him cuz kunai vortex and j.LK safe jump crosses make him free on wake up. HK command dash through on occasion to kill his back charge isn’t bad either. Though I wouldn’t do that unless he’s low on meter or u have a good health lead on him.

waffles

If the waffles had chicken, and syrup next to it I’d eat it. But in your post, no such thing exist T.T

what frustrated in me buktooth matches vs alex the fail attempts to connect the traget combo ((2 times)) duo to the hitbox matter…
and i see how f+mk is better when expicting the opp to throw or d+jap… more than an overhead
i don’t mind if they made it only connect to f+LK combos while make it 3 or even 2 frames faster

Anybody know the frame data on a max range cf.mk? Buktooth seemed to be able to be followup with it many times. Are you both at zero on block?

It depends on the distance. At closest you are -11 on block. At farthest you are zero on block I believe.

Also I really do hope that they fix the hitbox on the second and third hit of the TC 4 so that it hits everyone if they are crouching or standing if they patch it.

Couldnt cf.mk be used similarly to a properly spaced tiger knee then as a pressure tool. What can be followed up after a max range cf.mk? i think i saw buktooth do s.lp or s.mp after it.

It can to an extent, but it is difficult to be accurate with IMO.

Actually you are at least +3 on hit at max range and can get a 1 frame jab for a combo.

Starting at around 14:30 I play a first to 5 against Eish’s Juri

Is that 2:30PM EST?

Its 2:58 at the moment

the matches start at 14 min and 30 sec in the video :stuck_out_tongue:
