nice frame trap for the U1
keep working on the cr.lpx2 > s. mk links.
When you play vega i recommend you get a life lead than zone him out, his pokes are too nice in close range so a rushdown is a bit more difficult, stay more grounded, keep your anti airs on point, and any and all walldives should be neut jump mk’d or air thrown, if you aren’t prepared for walldives you can possibly mixed up with izuna drops/claws.
all in all pretty good though
It is probably going to take a few weeks before we start seeing many great Ibuki matches because there is not only a learning curve for those playing as her, but also those fighting her.
Why was Dashio using tsumuji to end most of his combos instead of neckbreaker?
also xxteefxx you make the common mistake most newbs do when watching high level play videos. they are match vids, not combo exhibitions. they aren’t supposed to wow you with crazy offensive tricks, rather they show how practical combos and mixups are implemented in gameplay against top tier opponents.
The Hien crossup isn’t that new, I actually stole it from a match video Philly One posted on youtube not long after the game came out. It also stuffs wake up EX birds from Chun, clean… from the messing around with it I’ve done.
Daisho was also doing a lot of 1 frame link combos in that vid…I dont see anyone else hitting those consistently in matches yet
i beg the differ i dont care bout combos ,that’s the last thing i always take care off. so if u do that when u watch vids dont apply it to others OR generalize it (in refrence that am a nub). still i didnt see anything that made me be WOW, wut i saw in the match was Pure regular Ibuki game and that wut every Ibuki should be regularly doin specially against ryu, ken, and good sagat.
As for Tsumuji(wut i believe, cause as will i started using tsumuji more recently); cause Neckbreaker will always throw u out in a distance (wither done in corner or not) on the other hand Tsumuji can have more control of confusion/mixups…so ur more in control if u exactly understand Kunais in every certain situation (distance, opponent size, as well as faster pase mind gaming that u can generate: EX double dash, or safe 1 dash into safe f+mk before opponent stand up…etc).
thats wut i believe.
ty for ur comment anyways Gorath
Wut 1 frames? the pokes into s.MK? those arnt 1 frames… the only 1 frame diasho did was pokes into LK tsumuji, into s.MK chain ~ penguin kick (and was blocked by ryu). though again (dont mean to be douche), but that’s wut Ibuki is… if u dont do that when u play with Ibuki, then there’s something wrong
I’m pretty sure he means stuff like the cr.LK cr.LP links, those are definitely 1 frame.
You should prolly stop while your ahead, and please dont double post like this.
takes a deep breath
I can’t make any sense of what you are trying to say in your first sentence or how it relates to what I wrote in reference to you. What I wrote was in response to your belief that you continue to espouse here that you didn’t see anything that WOW’d you, that it was pure regular Ibuki. This leads me to believe you do not have much experience watching match videos, as generally they aren’t supposed to wow you at first glance. This is because the player is trying to win, not be flashy and show off. Every newb the first time they watch a high level match video goes “Oh man, I didn’t see anything I couldn’t have done…” This response happens every time, trust me. You gave that exact response, and then backtracked a little when you found out the opponent was Daigo. I’m not denigrating your newness, just pointing out you should look closer, and you will definitely learn some things.
Neckbreaker sets you up with perfect spacing afterwards for the vortex and other mixups, hence why people generally finish combos with it. Daisho wasn’t going for vortexes really, some maybe that is one clue. The only thing I can think of is that Tsumuji is safer on block if he missed one of his links, h could go into s. mk and teleport dash, etc.
As others have pointed out, the cr. lk to cr. lp is a one frame link, and the cr. lp to st. mk is almost as tight. Plus the finisher timing after st. mk is a little awkward. He hit it every time.
Hi new here at Shoryuken.com…
Ive been maining Ibuki since the game came out and im loving it!
Here’s me fighting some random guy. I know im using neckbreaker way to often but sometimes its to escape jumpins. I also jump way to much but im working on it

Hey man , how u doing. thank you for posting/ replying to my post dude. will first off man ty for ur clarifications, also srry if u didnt understand my post! my english is aint that great as u can see. sometimes i may struggle were am tryin to explain something and it could be a little hard somehow.
Secondly, as i previously said on the previous post Gorath, tis not that i changed my word it’s just that i wasnt aware of some stuff so i took some of them back. Doriath is a good Ibuki player as well as some others, though to be honest i didnt see anything that made me feel Ibuki was SPECIAL in this match(i know wut you guys said, but still i dont see why people are makin hype of this match)…i saw more impressive stuff wth ibuki against ryu/ken matchs in my community. also, i believe that two members in here backed me up in words (were they also had the same impression and feeling like me bout the match) Devil jin and dime_x. am not tryin to be lame or just acting childish, but i swear it didnt impress me that much dude…i find it usual Ibuki playin style , i dont know why! maybe am used to seeing and doin stuff like that.
but again Props to him ofcourse cause he’s an awsm Ibuki, and i will look forward from now on for his coming vids/matchs just to learn stuff ya know.
also care and be aware that am not talkin bout either diffculty or hard excutions, Ibuki by nature is not easy to play with. therefore no matter how difficult a charecter can be, once u play that charecter then dont blame or comment that Ibuki did wither good or bad due to some difficult excutions she might have or did in the match. what i mean is,if u wanna play this charecter (what ever it’s), and if this charecter is a hard difficulty to master ,then u will have to indulge it and live with the fact that u will put a lot of effort in order to become good!
third, as for the tsumuji, that’s basically what i said . though i was talkin bout tsumuji with FK , apparently u were reffering to LK tsumuji one i believe(when daigo blocked it in the vid). as for me i use it alot! i usually do a series of pokes into mk and then tsumuji, the reason is if he’s crouch blocking and trying to turtle then i can mind game him with a penguin kick (though i dont do that with ryu’s or ken, cause if i did it once the next time they will DP my penguin)…or if they are average in size, then i can try to chain right after tsumuji into f+lp, s.mk to wutever i want right after (like wut everybody else know or do, just all for the favour to put pressure on opponent)…aint am right?
Finally, i know wut u meant and i understand it. though am not new to fighting game at all!! like not because i have a new/different ID then that will make u sure that am new to fighting game industry. i believe u joined SRK around 2001 correct? i as well joined srk on the same time under the ID name “The Beholder”. am not new to fighting game industry at all! in fact i am actually trying to work as a fighting game tester for some companies (srry i wont give any details).
not only that, i was Tekkenzaibatsu.com Moderator (under the same ID the beholder).I was admin for a failure project (lol) by castel and other moderators from TZ and SRK( the community was called Ullysis, the site was Ullysis.com), we handled local tournaments in some states.
KYSG took 3 refrence vid from me to imply em in there videos. two from Tekken (tekken 4 Kazuya combos, and in tekken 5 as well), and 1 from Capcom fighting Evolution. I also made tons of vids on TZ official vids (made with Castel and others), as well as i made lot of stuff and discoveries for mainly tekken series. as for 2d and capcom games, i made yun’s 3rd strike vids and CVSNK 2 back in SRK…and lot more to be honest. as well as i traveled to japan, US and london just to win tournaments, so i know how different skilled players play and think
so just an inconclusion, i know am not new …i know wut i said my man , i really meant it (that the ibuki vid wasnt WOW at all…i seen better stuff in my community). i am also tryin to record some of these matchs for u guys so u can believe me, and i would really love to know ur oppinoin on them vids.
that’s it, ty so much P.gorath and sorry if i bothered you. as well as sorry if i sounded like a jackass or a douche! i really didnt mean it if i did, it’s just that sometimes my english puts me behind those walls where i really find it kinda hard to explain what i exactly tend to say.
PS: i didnt notice that d+lk into cr.LP were one frame, though i use em all the time (maybe i just got used to its excution, that’s all)
ty again for your claryfication P.gorath.
Teef
teef, please sell your ps3 and purchase yourself a writing class.
…excuse me?
-Klops- : very not mean i swear! thank you…lol am doin my best, it’s kinda hard knowing and being good in 4 different languages…
shit, was my post really not that understandable >_>?
as for your idea, sounds good. i’ve been actually tryin to capture stuff since yesterday. i bought this AVI cable for my computer, though for a reason there’s something wrong! tis like my ps3 working on a different monitor mode, not allowing my computer to fraps or capture for a reason. i was preparing myself if by today i wasnt able to do it, then tomorrow am meetin up with my friends (they also got some good matchs saved), and shall record em by cam. the quality on the other hand will be horrible, but atleast u guys will see some of our matchs and u can judge.
i’ll give it to you straight.
my eyes bled.
ps. talk is cheap - no one really cares. vids or gtfo.
The low ender from MK tsumuji sets up vortex. Like neckbreaker, you actually have to wait a moment (a shorter moment, though) before using kunai, which is what you want since it creates ambiguity and more freedom to create mixups. This is not true for sweep, or hk tsumuji. Dashio actully did attempt kunai crossup, but it got beat by uppercut, so he decided to use his plan b walk and crossup short. That’s an example of good decision making – he didn’t ask himself “is it my execution? My bad let me try that again cuz it should beat uppercut.” He immediately adjusted, realizing that a problem like that needs to be worked out in training, not mid-match. Remember that grand final match where jwong kept failing his 2-frame link after wheel kick and getting uppercutted… getting uppercutted every time and not even trying to bait an srk because he couldn’t admit to himself that he just wasn’t going to get that link in the mood Daigo put him in.
yea. as for the HK tsumuji or sweep, wut u meant exactly Samma?
the reason why dashio was using tsumuji as an ender was OBVIOUSLY because of tsumuji being WAY safer on block than neckbreaker.
heres something that you guys shuld know about top players and how they look at characters:
1 frame link into extremely punishable special on block = BAD.
unless your execution with the 1 framer is near 95%, you should NEVER be attempting these kinds of things in a serious match… that is what training mode is for.
its just common sense.
dashio missed the cr.lpx2 >st.mk link 2-3 times in that vid iirc… but since he was going into a safe on block special, it didnt matter… all he lost out on was some damage instead of losing out on both damage AND getting his hp raped by a punish combo.
-dime
It’s why when it get serious sometimes I just stick to st.lp into sweep. 2 frames feels like easy money.
