Fucked up setup on Hugo.
Video of Shimauta from this weekend’s Isshun Sengeki Cup Qualifier:
ISC Osaka - Ken (Black san) vs. Ibuki (Shimauta) …: http://youtu.be/v_m-giR6HDQ
He seems to be going jumpcancelled j.HK after almost every st.HK juggle from the ageman (b+MP), but with no apparent setup afterwards.
Is this purely for damage vs. Kazegiri?
He was trying to bait a DP by backdashing.
i love shimauta. and that hugo setup is naaasty
It’s not perfect and hard to do, but baits Hugo’s reversals.
Made a compilation of Backhand Punch punishes.
Found this when playing with a friend earlier today, cross-up overhead against atleast cody if they quickrise in the corner efter kaze ender:
Raida juggle point buff applications.
Pugera is amazing. Man Fukuoka is killing it.
Hugo unblockable and safe sj.hk crossup setup.
Came back after a few months. This guy sent me a message asking if I had heard of myself.
If I were you in that first round, I would just done f+lk twice and walked up and thrown just for trolls after I did so many safe jump setups, but I prob would’ve ate a DP.
sako [elena] vs pugera [ibuki]
Blanka setups:
Been doing some research on midscreen super into ultra combos:
Info is in the description.
Greetings fellow Shinobi,
I am here today because i am a beginner at the Street Fighter IV series and as well as a beginner with Ibuki. I’ve followed the forums and guides for quite a bit and did some studying and I learned alot because of you guys and i am very grateful for that. Lately i’ve been playing online a little, just to see the things i have to work on before i even attempt casuals much less tournaments. needless to say but as expected, i got beat pretty hard by nearly every opponent i ran into on endless lobby. I have no problem with losing at all, but it’s just unfortunate when you lose and you don’t even know why you lost y’know? so i’ve came to you guys today to ask may i have some advice on the matches i have recorded?
Vs Abel: When i was playing, i was fully aware that step kick was plus on block so i wanted to do my best to avoid it but honestly, i was so afraid of a wheel kick possibility and even if it came out, i don’t know how i was going to stop it. til now i am not sure if what i could do to stop wheel kick.
http://youtu.be/WZtwXrCBLD4 - Vs Ken
Vs Ken: I wanted to find out the max range of step kick, since that’s his best approach to get in but i kept getting it wrong unfortunately. Should i have poked back to prevent him from step kicking maybe with cr.mk? I’m still quite uncomfortable with the normal haha ;_;
http://youtu.be/Nf_NTn69bEg - Vs Dhalsim
Vs Dhalsim: I was very impatient in this matchup. I let him frustrate me because he was winning the ground game. I am so bad at defending the ground and i want to get better at it
I want to know what i was doing wrong, was i not defending my space properly? Was i too Passive? I know i’ve done alot wrong and i’ve been struggling because of it but i’m not worried at all. There is no improvement without struggle. I appreciate all the advice you guys
To me, it seemed that you needed more match-up experience overall. I noticed against fireball characters you don’t try to punish them within range. Like, using ex neckbreaker to punish a fireball on reaction. I think you could use a little more normals overall to put on some offense. I used to be very defensive all the time. The only way to help improve that is to observe how far of each ibuki’s normals reach. When you get comfortable with that, then you can start whiff punishing based on opponents habits. Then you will know which normal to use under those circumstances.
I hope you keep practicing.
Option select tutorial!
I won’t be able to do videos for a while because my computer blew up :(. But I have some interesting techs I want to upload when I get a new computer including a 3f j.HP safe jump! Video quality will improve too, most likely 1080p 60fps or even 4k! I’ll try 4k and see how that goes haha
Ibuki starts at 12:00.
From Topanga Charity Match 2v2 02.01.2015- Momochi [Ken] vs Sako [Ibuki]
[details=Spoiler]12:35 - Right off the bat, during neutral, he’s testing to see if Momochi is watching for df.mk Sazan slide, which Sako throws out at the perfect space and time; Momochi attempts to whiff punish, but not before Sako can recover with a cr.block and backdashes to safety. A mental note is made by both players–Sako’s knows not to abuse that command normal carelessly, and Momochi now thinks he’s alerted Sako that he’s watching for this as an entry point.
13:04 - Sako reads a 2nd fireball, and attempts to anti-zone with another Sazan slide, but Momochi knows this and punishes the whiffed df.mk with a max distance cr.mk of this own; really Momochi should have punished with a sweep, but maybe he was planning to go into hp.dp and then realized it would whiff, or knew that cr.hk would whiff
13:12 - counterhit cr.mk into cr.hk x st.hk tc PogChamp.
13:55 - really interesting neckbreaker knockdown setup here: neckbreaker, then ageman [b+mp] frame kill, jump kunai reaction to delayed wakeup technical, but then cl.st.HP; not sure if he meant that as a framp-trap or for it to link off the kunai, but either way, I like where his head’s at lol.
Overall, a fun match to watch, despite the outcome. I can’t say I agree with Sako’s choice of Ultra W, here. He should have stuck with raw Ultra 2 for comeback factor. I’m being told that U1 can still punish HK.tatsu on HIT, so probably more for deterrent than utility, as I’d assume Momochi is also aware of this.
Looking forward to more videos from this event and then also to see Sako’s performance at Shadowloo Showdown next weekend.[/details]
