I completely agree with this. If we get the knockdown, we have a huge advantage. However, any good Vega player will just capitalize on playing patient and footsies. You could even win by pressing cr.MP at max range all day long. I don’t have enough experience against good Vegas (mostly because France’s best Vega is a god tier douchebag who’ll kick you out and ragemail you as soon as you beat him) so I’d like to play this matchup more often now that I’m in NY (so Jozhear, if you’re interested just add my GT : Damascus06 ) because unless I’m completely wrong due to a lack of experience, I think there’s not much to do against a Bega with a good footsie game
Yes, but air throw gives an untechable knockdown while j.HK does not, so I usually go for airthrow
Another drawback Ibuki has in this matchup is that she can’t do st.MP OS Neckbreaker to catch Vega’s backdash because st.MP takes too much time to recover. This OS will catch his PPP/KKK backdash, but he’ll recover on time with his normal backdash. You’re better off OS’ing sweep, but you won’t beat PPP/KKK backdashes with a sweep

Exactly and thats why if you have no meter, you have no choice but to block or use a focus attack. And the sad part is, even if you have meter, ex kazagiri won’t work against all jump ins.
That is not true Claw cannot jump in for free. You can use far.st.HK or Ageman. It’s a little more difficult but it does work. I had no problems using far.st.HK in Japan. Also you could just jump up with them and do j.HK if you anticipate a jump or dash/slide under.
You even saw me play Doctor Claw74 and was beating him out of the air with cr.HP which works perfectly.
jump back j.HK is much more consistent than air-throw. You can’t really Vortex after an air-throw anyway. I personally have no problems using j.HK in this match-up.
Also Focus Dashing through Claw’s normals is a must in this match-up. If he has meter he can cancel it but he can’t repeatedly OS EX Wall Dive. I think there was one Claw at the Arcades here in UK who thought it would be smart to cancel with the roll and then the flip kick, but all you do then is Focus Backdash and punish the whiff. I have never seen Iyo play this match-up, but unless your execution is great it’s kinda hard for Ibuki.
I have good ratios against Makoto (the player) and Doctor Claw74 (and I suppose xWAx Quest even though he’s not great) and some top Spanish Claw, which is why I would have liked to have played Jozhear. Oh well.

He doesn’t play online, only at the Arcades. And when I was in Japan I saw no one recording any matches. It’s usually foreigners that do that. Iyo would ask you kindly to not record his matches.

Easy/common setup which is actually unpractical. He’s crumpling, if you wanna go for a reset, you should try to do some damage first. cl.st.HK SJC, or even just the target combo st.HP cr.HK st.HK
I never liked resets/gimmicks like that. I try to keep them out of the IbukiPlayerGuide channel because as Damascus says, it’s pretty much pointless. Even if you have so much damage scaling that no matter what you do the next hit won’t do much damage anyway, you probably should count Stun in your head better…****
